I rang this place to order contact lenses and initially I was put in contact with a nice woman, however when I rang back to confirm my prescription I was spoken to very horribly by a rude man with no customer service skills who I found very upsetting and unhelpful - I avoided the place as a result I'm sure if he hadn't spoken to me in such an awful manner and hung up on me so abruptly I would've went here but never again after being upset by this man. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Li's for 3 years. She is so warm, personable, friendly, and professional! I have contacts and she always ensures I get a rebate for ordering a year supply, which is really helpful for those of us without vision insurance. The office is small and I haven't seen some of the glaucoma test machines (and machines that test for other issues) that I've seen at other optometrist offices. Take your business elsewhere. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE! 1) I had to pay $50 for a 'lens fitting' that I didn't know about until the END of the appointment - a fee i've NEVER had to pay at any other office before. 2) After writing them a check I asked for my written prescription and the man behind the counter acted like I was asking for a time machine. "no, no, we have that for you - you don't need that." (luckily my father had warned me before going in that these small businesses will be VERY reluctant to provide you with your written prescription to take elsewhere to attain contacts or glasses at a lower price) so I asked again, we continued going back and forth and finally he reluctantly agreed and wrote it out for me himself - shouldn't the doctor be the only one writing prescriptions? Why should i even have to ask for my prescription at all? It should be automatically provided. 3) Just when I thought all the mayhem was over ... I had gotten my eyes checked, got my written prescription - I was in the clear, right?? WRONG. I go to Costco, order a new pair, pay for them and call my insurance to make a claim to cover the price of the glasses. The insurance agent on the phone told me that EYELOHA HAD ALREADY CHARGED MY INSURANCE FOR THE FULL AMOUNT FOR CONTACTS I NEVER ORDERED. Needless to say I was furious. Any company willing to bill my insurance without my consent for a product I NEVER ordered is a complete joke. WATCH OUT - ALL THEY'RE AFTER IS YOUR $$$$! Never again. read more

Dr. Lucinda Li is great! She is very welcoming, easy to talk to, and thorough in her exam. She also recommended some bomb dot com contacts that feel like rejuvenation to my eyes. It was really easy to schedule with her, and I was able to see her within the week. I came in for an eye exam, upon first visit everything seemed very good except for the fact that I was expecting to pay my $10 copay through my insurance and was charged $70. I also tried to buy glasses, but the gentleman would not look up my secondary eye insurance. On my followup visit, I asked for my prescription and said I would not be purchasing contacts through them. Dr. Li started huffing and puffing and was all of a sudden unprofessional giving me reasons why I should purchase through them. I found out that they had also already charged my insurance for the purchase of contacts, which I never agreed to. I loaned my boyfriend cash to pay out of pocket to get an eye exam, despite my recommending he not go to Eyeloha, that is where he went. He told Dr. Li upfront that he has no insurance and no money. She suggested he ask me to put him on my insurance so he could buy contacts from her. That seems unprofessional and inappropriate; he is not my husband or dependent and it's not her business. read more

Very happy with Dr. Li and Nestor. This is my third set of glasses recently & once again, everything is just perfect. I've never had to return for lens changes, which I have had to do over the years at other places. Dr. Li and Nestor are very helpful and really good about adjusting my glasses between renewals. Nestor always has my insurance at his fingertips & I don't have to provide anything... just walk in, do the exam, pick my frames, and return to pick them up. Easy-peasy! I've seen Dr. Li since she started her business in PB for my annual eye exams and contacts. Here are the highlights: She's great with patients- she always remembers me and details about our previous conversations (which we have annually at best). Her exams are thorough, quick and comfortable. She is very accommodating - It's not unusual that I run out of contacts and have to order replacements on short notice. Not only do I get the reinforcements within the week, Dr. Li will provide me enough samples to get me through the week and arrange for them to be picked up after hours to accommodate my ridiculous work schedule. It's been almost to 5 years since I have visited and optometrist's office so like taking my car to a mechanic, I had no idea what to expect. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by Dr. Li and her very outgoing smile. She set me up with all the intake paperwork I needed to complete and had me in her examination room 5 seconds after I finished it. The entire process was very pleasant. She was very thorough with her exam and very black & white about if I "really" needed to purchase prescription glasses or not. Even though she said it was not imperative to my eye health, I still opted for the purchase to help ease some possible strain that my eyes may be experiencing. Dr. Li and her associates had me in and out of the office within 45 minutes...that includes picking out new frames! Dr. Li is great! She is so friendly, helpful and patient. I had an eye exam because i needed new contacts. I got my eye exam and got several different trial contacts for the new correction of my vision to test for the upcoming week and then a control check before I decided which ones I wanted to order. Unfortunately my vision changed between the eye exam and control check and this is the third time I've been there after the exam with constantly changing vision. Anyways Dr. Li is always happy, helpful and patient, and she hasn't even charged me on single dollar in addition to my initial eye exam even tho I have gotten so many trial contact and she has spent a lot of time testing my vision. Lucinda Li's practice is in the center of PB, a walk for some of us, but there is off street parking if you have to drive. She runs a professional operation, (i.e. you won't wait long for your appointment, a good selection of frames, and perfectionist approach to fitting glasses) yet she treats you like an old friend Immediately after you meet her. I've trusted her with contacts, glasses, and prescription sun glasses. Now, I'm kind of dating myself, but she diagnosed cataracts and referred me to a clinic to get those taken care of. In other words, she knows her business and she will do what's best for your eye health. If you need an optometrist in PB, you should consider seeing her. read more

It has been over ten years since the last time my eyes were examined. Recently I noticed that I am just not seeing like I used to see. So, I check out Yelp to see who is in my neighborhood with good reviews. I find Eyeloha. I call and make an appointment. I arrive and Dr. Lucinda Li is there to ease my nervousness. In a professional and efficient manner she runs through a number of tests. At the end of the exam, she says for me to look at the eye chart. This is your normal vision. Click! Now this is what your vision would be with a set of glasses. Wow! A big difference. As one of my more sensitive friends who grew up in LA said, "Welcome to the Four Eye Club!" A week or so later I take my wife to Eyeloha to pick out some frames. Dr. Li is there to assist us in picking out frames that will make me look even more like the Most Interesting Man in the World than I already do. We pick out the perfect pair, run through a few tests and are told that my new pair will be ready in a week or so. Another week and my glasses are ready. I am shown how the new progressive lenses work, the glasses are adjusted for the perfect fit and I am off. What a great experience. My son needed to get his 1st pair of eyeglasses this year, so I brought him to Eyeloha Optometry in Pacific Beach. Our experience at Eyeloha was great from beginning to end. The staff did a great job in assisting us with selecting the right frames and options for my son's needs, and they provided excellent instruction to my son regarding the proper care of his new glasses and the need for special sports goggles to accommodate his glasses when he swims, plays tennis, or basketball. I ended up getting my son 2 pairs of flexible frame glasses with transition lenses. My son is very pleased with his glasses and thinks the transition lenses are cool! Very glad I found this place! Their schedule is usually pretty flexible which I really appreciate. I feel like any time I've booked appointments with other doctors I have to take off a whole day of work just to make it happen. The doctor is very friendly and very knowledgable. She took extra care to explain exactly why I was seeing incorrectly and my options for improvement. Well this is my very first eye exam and I have to say it was the best experience. Dr. Li was awesome! She really took the time to explain every aspect of the exam and what she was doing and what it was doing for me. I really felt very comfortable, like I was talking to a friend. And she's got a great sense of humor. Based on her exam she recommended that I look into getting some glasses. While I didn't need them 24 hours day she recommended that I should start using them. She then took the time to explain what my plan covered, the prescription for my eyes, and what frames I could get. After about 20-30 min of showing me different frames I found some that I liked. Her assistant (sorry forgot his name) was awesome and fitted my new glasses for me. I can't wait to pick them up! I hate to give a one star only because Dr Li is great but his assistant Nester needs to go. He doesn't belong at this office. He is rude to customers when no one is around to witness him. Dr. Lucinda absolutely improved my life. I am 44 years old and have worn contacts most of my life. I use them to see far and I've always had the ability to see close... up until after I turned 40. Now when I have my contacts in I cannot see anything close up so I have to wear reading glasses. The constant taking off and putting on of these reading glasses has been driving me crazy!!!! Not only have they been expensive because I've had to buy several pairs and have them in my car and at work and in my bathroom and in my purse excetera excetera but it's so annoying and it makes me look old. I went in to get some new contacts from Dr Lucinda and she suggested monovision contacts meaning one lets me see far and one lets me see close.
