Unfortunately, as others have noted in their reviews, the customer service is now lacking and just doesn't have the same welcoming, personal feel it once did. I saw Dr. Staples during my most recent visit last year. I found her somewhat rude and unfriendly at the beginning of the appointment, although she did soften up as the visit went on, which I appreciated. After being a patient here for nearly 30 years, I've decided that will be my last year. I'll be going to Kaiser instead, where my experience with both the customer service and the doctor I met was much more pleasant. It's unfortunate to leave a place I've been going to since 1997, but ultimately, I prefer to give my business to a place where I feel welcomed and valued as a customer.

Not exactly the welcoming vibe you'd want from an eye care office. The store was clean, organized, and full of frame options -- so many cute choices it was honestly a little hard to decide. I went in thinking I might finally pick out a new pair of frames, but after trying a few on I realized my current ones still fit my face best, so I decided to just replace the lenses instead. Juan helped me during the visit and was fantastic. He walked me through the right lens options not only for my glasses but also for my daughter's, and made the whole process really easy. I was surprised how fast everything moved -- I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Helpful tip: if you find a frame you like, ask if it comes in other colors. Sometimes they have additional options like black or tortoiseshell tucked away that aren't on display. Now I'm just counting down the one to two weeks until the new lenses are ready. My regular optometrist said she couldn't help me any further. The doctor diagnosed me with keratoconus (google it for future details). Because of him I got the treatment I needed!!!!! I cannot thank him enough for informing me of this. He probably saved my eye sight from getting worst. Fast forward 1.5 years and I'm back seeing him again. This time for hard contact lenses. I cannot say enough good praises for him and his staff. Never had contacts before. They were so kind and caring throughout the whole process. Even when I took all day to learn how to put them on. They taught me everything I needed to know and even gave me all the time I needed to learn how to get better. From beginning to end....they are the best!!! Staff was so caring and nice. I also asked specifically about getting a medical exemption for tinted windows on my vehicle due to this issue. I was told clearly that it wouldn't be a problem and that the documentation would be typed up and sent to my email. Based on that, I left expecting follow-through. Nearly two weeks went by with no communication. I had to call and follow up myself, only to be told that they actually cannot provide that documentation. This was frustrating, especially since I was initially told the opposite with confidence. The lack of follow-through and inconsistent information wasted my time and left me disappointed. Clear communication upfront would have made a big difference.
