I had my first annual exam at Eyes on High last week with Dr. Melissa Bennett, who was fantastic. Not only is she friendly and quickly put me at ease, but she took time to explain everything and investigated an issue I was having with dry eyes. Best of all, she told me I don't need glasses after I was prescribed progressives following a botched exam at a different office last year. She's also the first person to tell and show me that I have natural monovision. It's great to know that I've found a provider I can trust with my vision care! read more

I CAN SEE!!!! So I got glasses like....8 years back. Benefits of a career based on staring at a computer screen I suppose. I actually didn't even make the appointment. My wife was like, I'm going... made you an appointment too. Visit was great. The doctor made the exam portion very quick and enjoyable. We then got to sit down and try on all the glasses. At least it felt like every pair in the place. Was probably just a fraction of what they have. The associate who helped us also really seemed to have a knack for finding the style we were after and none of what we didn't like. Even with insurance is wasn't cheap, but from any prior experience with glasses they never are. Oh well. I think the overall experience makes it worth it. read more

Every aspect of this place has been amazing from scheduling the appointment to the appointment itself. The gentleman at the front desk was talkative and sweet and really seemed engaged with me as a customer. The doctor went above and beyond to help me get the right prescriptions for contact for me. The girl that helped me finalize everything was funny and personable. I love this place and although I am moving soon I think I will make the trip to come back to this eye doctor because of the amazing people they have working there. read more

This was my first visit to Eyes on High, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The office was incredibly clean and well-maintained, their selection of glasses was great, and the parking in the rear was spacious and easily accessible. Dr. Melissa Bennett has one of the best bedside manners of any doctor I've been to. She was thorough, incredibly upbeat, and more than willing to answer any and all questions I had. The same can be said for the rest of the staff. I have CareSource insurance, and while they are notorious for being a bit picky at times, I didn't have a single issue at Eyes on High. There aren't a TON of quality, in-network eye doctors in the Columbus area, so I couldn't recommend this location more. Simply phenomenal experience all around. I will be back soon and recommending it to all of my friends in need of an eye doctor. read more

My first visit was an awesome experience! The staff was so friendly and caring. Willing to help with any questions or concerns. My exam was quick and very thorough. All staff went above and beyond to meet my needs. For the first time in over 10yrs, I was fitted correctly for my glasses and given so many choices and styles to choose from. For about ten years now, I've bounced around to a variety of different eye doctors. I've just never been able to find one that I like. I will admit, my eyesight seems tricky to get a prescription *just* right, and I'm a horrible patient in that I never take my dang contacts out. But that's neither here nor there. I figured I'd give Eyes on High a shot. Dr. (David) Bennett saw me, and he was very personable. And he didn't shame me for not taking my contact out for bed. He gently suggested I try to do it more often. I liked his apporach to that. (Apprently I'm sensitive about being lectured!) While I was only getting contacts, no glasses this year, they do have a huge selection of stylish frames, and they were giving each client their full attention when they were searching the wall for the right frames. It's a comfortable experience, and that is big for me. If you're in the market for a new eye doc, check this place out. read more

I've been here three times and I absolutely love it. I used to go to Harris Opticians farther north on high but the glasses selection at Eyes on High is much better and they do a more thorough optical exam. The atmosphere is casual and there is always coffee and cookies, although there's only been once where I've had to wait long enough to have time to eat them! Karen is quick and thorough and really easy to get along with. The girl who did my glasses (can't remember her name) is hilarious and did an awesome job finding a style that looked nice on me and fit in my budget. It was the end of the year and I didn't know how much was left on my flex spending so she happily swiped my card numerous times so we could squeeze every last drop out of my insurance. I stopped in to check out the new optometrist office in Clintonville. And it was the best thing I have done in a while!! I was able to have an eye exam that day. Scheduled one for my wife that day also. I have not had my eyes checked since grade school so didn't know what to expect (I just knew my eyes aren't what they used to be) but Dr. Karen took great care of me and explained each thing that she was doing during the exam. I did get a pair of glasses and they help me so much! Also Andrew helped me throughout the whole process, and he was great also. We talked like we were long-lost brothers. I went in just a few days ago to have my glasses adjusted, and met several other staff members and they all are just as wonderful as Dr. Karen and Andrew. I've been visiting eyes on high for several years and I've been consistently impressed by their service, I have an eye condition that isn't common and they've been consistently patient and tenacious when it comes to finding the right solution. Just quick kudos to EOH. I had my regular "maintenance" appt yesterday and as always, got good attention start to finish from all the staff. John at the front desk is always efficient & courteous as are Chip, Audrey & Nicole. They hit that elusive standard of delivering good customer service without being "smarmy" :) And I always feel I get good attention from Dr. Kloman without feeling rushed. She answered a # of questions for me yesterday as well as discussing options for eye supplies that would better fit my budget. Of course it doesn't hurt that they let me babble about my own dogs and the ones I'm caring for! Check them out, really good option for eye care. read more

We took my 16 year old son to Eyes on High and he wanted to try contact lenses. Dr. Kloman repeatedly tried to touch his eye with a pencil eraser, and when he didn't care for this approach she told him he was not ready for contacts. I felt this was very inappropriate as well as unprofessional. I can say the desk personnel and another Dr. I saw (also a woman) were very professional. However, when I made my son's appointment I specified I wanted him to see the same Dr. I saw, but they apparently ignored this request. read more

In real life this might not be a five star review, but I'm still recovering from the extremely bad customer service at Dr. Rinkov on Gay St., downtown. The staff here are funny, kind, and most importantly, prompt. Dr. Melissa Bennett was my optometrist and she was super patient with my endless list of questions. She also worked to find me disposable contacts that were at a good price (I have terrible astigmatism, so sometimes those contacts can get pricey). I originally would have recommended this facility. However, I would not trust the staff here at this point. They urged me to get an unnecessary procedure stating my insurance would cover it. I took their recommendation, which was unsuccessful. They were unprepared with equipment at the first visit and asked me to come back to do the procedure on my second eye. The optometrist said that sometimes they do a test trial in the first eye to see if it helps and then do the second. No, no. They just didn't have the right equipment. When I spoke with them I was told they reordered the correct size for both eyes and to come back and they would complete the procedure. So basically they put something in my eye that wasn't the right fit? That makes me pretty uncomfortable going back, wouldn't you think? Okay, so they charged me for a procedure that they ordered the wrong size for, told me my insurance company would pay for it, and then they want me to come back? Their reply back to me was they wouldn't charge me for another visit.... Well duh! They didn't have the right equipment the first time why would they expect me to pay for their error. This is highly disappointing. The unsuccessful procedure is now costing me over $100.00 with nothing to show and all I wanted was prescription strength eye drops. Which I was told were very costly. Funny, I wouldn't think eye drops would cost over $100. How upsetting for someone who doesn't have an extra $100 to throw around. At the end of our conversation, their employee stated and I quote " are you going to give me your credit card number to pay for this, because its going to look really bad if we turn you into a collection agency." Ummm What?!?! Excuse me, but I have yet receive a bill in the mail to even have the chance to submit a payment. Save yourself the hassle and try a place that will give you proper care. read more

So I really wanted to sleep on this before submitting my review but the more I discuss my interaction today with friends and coworkers the more I feel like I should post it now. I initially had a very good experience with eyes on high several months ago for an exam and contacts fitting. They were a new business and were friendly and encouraged me to post about my experience on social media which I did. However today I had a drastically different experience which lead me to discontinue my business there. I called around 10 am and was greeted by a woman. I started to say that had been in several months prior for a contact exam but was now experiencing pain and was wondering if that was something they could examine. I was cut off mid-sentence by her to be asked for my last name. Which I gave. I was then placed on hold with no warning. This rudeness pissed me off and I hung up. I thought," perhaps I'll visit in person after work, explain what happened, and see what can be done". And so I did. And to my surprise when I showed up, not only did the front desk person know who I was, but he didn't act surprised whatsoever. I continued to schedule an appointment over the loud laughing and shrieking of the front office staff. Honestly the front desk guy looked embarrassed. It's a shame because I really enjoyed the company and professionalism of Karen but won't be returning. read more

Great optometrists - the staff...not so great. If you take this location at face value, it's a nice, quaint spot fit for young professionals and trendy up-and-comers - but unfortunately, after scratching the surface, all is not what it appears to be. Like I said, the optometrist are friendly enough, reliable and are really passionate about their practice. You're treated with respect and they are genuinely happy to answer any questions you may have. The staff however, is a hodge-podge of personalities ranging from condescending sales personas - forcing expensive sales on newcomers, to prideful, misguided folk who genuinely think they are an optometrist. It truly reeks of a pompous, "I know more than you", kinda vibe. I've gone to Eyes on High for a little more than a year, and I've run into more bad experiences than good ones. This place truly has a lot of potential, but will always be held back by the ones who greet you at the door. I won't recommend this spot, and I won't stop people from going.... but it's a real crap shoot sometimes. read more

I don't usually post reviews but I had such a great experience that I had to! Firstly, the font desk attendant, John is extremely nice and has gone above and beyond to help me figure out what exactly I needed from my new insurance company. All the staff that are in the front room are welcoming, helpful, and very nice. I saw Dr David Bennett and he was very nice and very knowledgeable. He was willing to answer all the questions I had and did a thorough examination of my eyes. (I've had experiences where the exam was much less than thorough). I'm glad I chose to go to Eyes on High and can see this place being a regular eye doctor for me! read more

Planned to seek prices from several optical companies but after the wife and I stopped here we stayed had our prescriptions priced with our insurance and chose new frames. When our glasses came in we had them expertly fitted* and after several weeks of wearing them we are very happy and have not had to return for any adjustments or problems! Good selections of frames, friendly opticians who know how to fit glasses! Check them out! *a year ago we went to another optical company who is part of a large opthamology practice in Arlington and when our glasses came in they handed them to us and would not fit them at all. read more

Absolutely a waste of money and very unprofessional. This place is so disorganized they forced me to wait 7 weeks because of miscommunication and in the end I spent at lease $450 and have to continue to using readers. First order...I was told two weeks for a turnaround. It took 4 weeks as they had messed up the order and prescription. I tried the glasses and the prescription was so badly made that I had to sit a foot away from my computer to read. "OK sir we can fix that" I was told two weeks for the new prescription to be fulfilled. 2 weeks later I called..."ok sir we will check on it" Day later "Oh sorry sir the lab accidentally delivered your glasses on time and then picked them up and destroyed your prescription." This may all be true though Eyes on High should find a way to ameliorate the situation by offering some compensation. Instead their friendly staff offered me a chance to call the lab they said made the mistake. This store is the front end of the business and should take responsibility for their mistakes. In future, I will seek my eye care with a store that actually has vision for the future of good eye care and it is not Eyes on High. read more

Although I haven't purchased glasses here, they have a great selection. They have taken the time to help me adjust my glasses even when they are quite busy. I think it would be helpful if they rearranged the room so it's not as awkward to look at the glasses which are close to the desks. read more

I simply stopped in to see if they would replace lenses in my sunglasses, got an eye exam, and before I knew it, I ordered new prescription glasses. I've never worn glasses in my life, but the awesome staff made me really comfortable with the idea and supported my quirky style. We laughed together and I felt like I made new friends. Can't speak of the exam services. I went to Eyes on High with my Rx in hand. I had purchased my previous frame/lens there. (Old pairs nose pice broke off. I was going to purchase the same frames again if I couldn't find a pair I liked more) I has great service last time.... This time the 3 sales people without an obvious client, couldn't be bothered to look away from thier computer screens to aknowledge me as I entered. The person to acknowledge me first was a sales person that already had a customer. After making a quick round of the small men's selection, one person asked what I needed and pointed me to the area for the same manufacturer of the glasses I was wearing- then promptly and without notice, walked away into the back. After looking at the few selections they had out, I turn to look for help and every had thier heads down in thier computer. This time I could see that one of them was online shopping. I had to leave. If a store is going to charge $400 for frames, I expect a bit more interest in me. read more

Eyes on High is easily the best eye doctor I've been to. All the staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. I have seen two doctors, and they were both friendly and professional. The office is beautiful and both times I've been in I was seen within five minutes. The staff working in the front took the time to help me figure out my eye insurance benefits, explain them in detail, and let me know how much of my glasses and contacts purchases were covered. They also helped me to find glasses within my budget. I can't say enough great things about Eyes on High and would recommend to everyone! read more
