For once a medical appointment that I don't have to deal with during working hours!! I have to say, the minute we started going to this business, it was like a breath of fresh air. No pressure from Dr. Hartig on wanting me to purchase bifocals or progressives (although I know they would be beneficial but I've been refusing to commit). He simply tells me he fully supports my decision, regardless. He is always so kind and personable, and gives me sound advice along with some interesting educational trivia about my eyeballs. The prices here are also so much better than our old optometrist. There are perks at this location that I am told are included in our insurance, but at our old spot they were charging us extra. The selection in eyeglasses is quite grand as well. The staff are very helpful (and honest when giving their opinions on frames, which is much appreciated). We have no plans to go anywhere else for our vision needs!

When I called and talked to the receptionist about my bill I was told "Yes, that is what you owe." My husband went in and raised heck. While the person at the desk was trying to explain. Dr. Sherriff came in and became involved. When she looked it was determined that the wrong insurance was billed. She said they would take care of it and all I would owe is my co-pay. Why wasn't the co-pay included in what I paid at the time of my initial visit? So when I received my next bill it was for much more than my co-pay. I sent payment on 9/27. So I got another bill today. When I called about it they told me the check I mailed on 9/27/24 was just received today, 10/21/24! Mailed from Grove City to Grove City. Really? There were finance charges added when none of this was our fault. It was their fault to begin with when it was billed wrong! So we now have to pay finance charges for their screw ups. I have talked with many others in the community, they all had problems. Including some of my family who when she went in with her son, who has down syndrome. They informed her when she arrived that you do not accept Medicaid anymore. This should have been discussed when she made her appointment. She was so upset at the end she walked out crying! I can't imagine how senior citizens can handle the stress of being treated like I have been. All because I needed to get my eyes checked. It is for reasons like this my husband and I will not be returning after spending over 40 - 50 years each with Dr. Gill at Ohio Vision. At least we were able to get our records!

I get to the contact lens area and get what they call "fitted" (don't quite understand how they justify charging $50 to hand me a pair of lenses) for trial lenses. My vision becomes skewed. The technician insisted that I needed to wear them for a few days and suckered me into buying a year's supply of contact lenses "for the visiondirect.com price." I have no insurance as a recent grad, so it came to fifty bucks for the exam, fifty for the "fitting," and some one twenty for the lenses. Not cheap. Later that afternoon my vision was completely blurred. I switched out the reduced prescription lens for my old lens and my vision instantly improved. I called to let them know that something was not right and that I needed to cancel the order. The technician refused to cancel the order. Eventually, I had to go in and write a separate check for the exam and fitting and cancel the first check. Here's a break-down of what I spent and I still need a new prescription/exam: $50 exam + $50 fitting + $27 cancelled check fee + $50-$100 for a new exam. Apparently, my father had the same problem, albeit with glasses a few years ago. He now has a $400 pair of useless glasses.
