I was then moved to a waiting area where I sat for 20 minutes. I was then moved to an exam room where I waited another 20 minutes or so. All the while I was expecting to have my eyes dilated. The opthamologist finally came in alone (they usually arrive with a technician who enters data for the doctor). I put my chin on the rest and the dr. started looking in my eyes. At a point he sat back back and asked if I had declined dilation. I said no and that no one had mentioned a choice nor had anyone said anything one way or another about dilation. He excused himself and about 15 seconds later a technician arrived to dilate my eyes for a proper exam. 10 minutes later they both returned and the exam commenced. 10 minutes later it was all over and I received my new glasses prescription. I finally walked out of a 9:40 appointment a little after 12 noon. This is not the first time I've had an experience like this. About 3 years ago I was forced to wait about 4 hours before ever being seen. I've only stayed with them because they identified a detached retina and the doctor at the time called colleagues at a the premier hospital for eye surgery and got me set up with repair surgery a few hours later. He has since left the practice. After this experience it's time for me to do the same.

It has gotten worse since they open the Locust Grove location. Great doctors but always behind. Do not go to this group if you expect to be seen on time. For us we will be looking for another eye doctor in Griffin and not the Takle group in Griffin.

I saw Doctor Bashan who has great credentials, is very thorough, nice too! After a bad experience with a group in Griffin, I'm now so very pleased.

I've been suffering with an eye problem for more than 4 months. I was referred to ECA by my…read moreoptometrist who had diagnosed me with Episcleritis. The front office staff was AMAZING!!! They were friendly, personable, and professional. After waiting for more than an hour to see Doctor Kuang, he on the other hand was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. He made zero eye contact upon entering the room, was short and showed no interest or concern. He even asked "what brings you here today"? My Sclera (white part of the eye) is completely red and swollen. He prescribed a medication which directly conflicts with my current medication which sharply increases my risk of severe stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney damage, and cardiovascular events. I called the office more than six times over 4 weeks to ask Dr. Kuang to call me to discuss my condition and his recommendation for treatment and he NEVER returned my calls. He also never returned the call of another ophthalmologist even after I gave the office staff permission to discuss my condition. It's generally a professional courtesy to return calls of patients and colleagues. I contacted the Corporate Office to discuss my concern and did not receive a follow-up call. If there was an option for less than one star this location would get it from me. Based upon my experiences, I would adamantly not recommend this facility.

She went on to say that they called me three days ago (when, on Sunday, or Saturday? Either day, we all know it wasn't 3 days ago...just try getting your eye doctor on the phone on a weekend), but she went on to say my phone number was no good....so, I'll just have to pay the $25 AND if I'd like, I can call back tomorrow if I want to reschedule a visit (but I have to pay the fee first). Says it is "their policy" to bill all patients who don't show up for appointments a "no show" fee. Well, go ahead and bill me...you didn't have any trouble reaching me to tell me I missed the appointment and I owe you $25. When I told I would not pay it, she says - "well I'll have to turn you over to my Practice Manager". Ooooh, that's scary. No matter what you do, I won't be paying you a "no show" fee...I could give a rip less whether it is your policy or not. Feel free to go jump in a lake Stephanie.

The nice lady who works with glasses fitting and filing insurance was a hoot. She was funny and folksy but she knew her stuff and showed me several options that worked with my insurance and my budget.
