This place is a scum ! They tries to rip me off! This guy said my smog test FAILED cus i missing the oil dipstick. What does the oil dipstick has to do with smog ? He also said there is no retest with the Groupon, i have to pay another 14.95$ for a retest after i get a oil dipstick from Mercedes dealer. Mercedes cars dont use oil dipstick ! This is a great location for a smog check. Umit is very professional and he will get you in and out in under 20 minutes. The location is superb, it is right off of the Gilman exit in Berkeley, on San Pablo avenue, it is very easy to get to. Also, the price for the test is excellent (under 30). 5 stars for Hassan, friendly and efficient and willing to describe what he does. 5 stars for the actual service which went fine at the predicted 20 minutes in length (it's an older car so needed to be on the dynamometer). 5 stars for the location: pass the waiting time at nearby Tokyo Fish Market, Whole Foods, Narain's Repair, Hidia Tool and Knife or REI. 1 star off for the online pricing which is for "vehicles 2000 and newer". If your car is older, or any sort of truck, you have to haggle. I prefer up front pricing not the cheapest deal. read more

I found this place on Yelp. Since it got a lot of good reviews, I figured I'd try it. Well, I'm glad I did. When I arrived, there was no one ahead of me, so Hassan was able to do my smog check right away. He said it would take about 10 minutes, but it actually seemed like it was less than 10 minutes. I didn't even have time to finish eating the lunch that I brought! Hassan was such a nice guy and super friendly and upbeat. He gave me a chair to sit on outside, so that I could enjoy the beautiful weather while eating my lunch. I'll definitely be coming here again for my next smog check.
