Best smog check ever! Why? Well, I woke up this morning and needed a smog check. Hopped on YELP and found this place right down the street. Pulled up and was helped right away by a gentleman named Hassan. The smog check took no longer than 10 minutes and once he gave me the bill to pay, I said to him "wow, that was quick and I'm glad I found you on YELP!". Hassan replied "oh, you found me on YELP? Here's the YELP price of $35". My original amount was for $70!!! half off woo-hoo! I definitely recommend going here for smog checks and make sure to give them a YELP review. read more

This is really about as pleasant of an experience as you could hope for. I called the guy about 30 minutes before they closed to see if they could still take me, even though I said I was 10 minutes out. He gladly said he would stay open for me and did. When ringing me up, I mentioned that I had seen the coupon online for a $25 smog check and he seemed genuinely happy for me not having to spend the $80 or so that it would cost without a coupon. Didn't even have to pull up the coupon. Keep in mind, the coupon is supposed to be cash only though, but he was lenient on that. Great experience, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

No wait time at all (except for, of course, the testing itself). $15 cheaper than any other quote I received with a cash only coupon I found online. Technician Hassan Kaanoune was jovial and helpful, reminded me that AAA can register one's vehicle faster than DMV (which I knew, but I appreciated the 5-star customer service). If for any reason one did have to wait, there's a Dollar Tree across the street and a Whole Foods about a block away (and T-Rex BBQ and Ashkenaz if you need to dance off your eats). Totally lagged on getting my car smog so needed to find a place really fast. Found on Yelp while at work so went right after work to get car smog. As I was driving from emeryville to Berkeley, I noticed a bunch of other smog places hoping I choose the right one. Once I arrived said it would take about 15 min which it did. I went to this location last week on Wednesday morning. I was greeted by a courteous owner, Umit Alis, who immediately told me what would happen in the next few minutes. Within a short time, he instructed me to move my car to the test station, and in a short period of time, the test was completed and passed. He invited me to return and assured me I wouldn't need a coupon next time. The price was very reasonable and I was pleased with the service. Excellent. I had an appointment, but another customer was being helped when I arrived so I had to wait a few minutes. I didn't catch the employee's name, but he was very nice. I purchased a Groupon for a smog check because I was in the area and their Groupon states: "This merchant sometimes offers a temporarily discounted price online. This voucher is still the lowest price deal available."That, however is a lie. First time I came in, their system was down. I was promised a call back when the system was back up, but I never received a call. I returned anyways because of the groupon. Once I was able to do the smog check my car wasn't ready because of a recent repair and I need a retest. BUT, I was told explicitly that the retest was not free BECAUSE this was a Groupon purchase, but there was NO mention on Groupon site that retests aren't free. Not only is their a lower cost coupon on their website, but every other Smog shop I've been to retests for free and there is no mention of this restriction in their Groupon ad. I absolutely feel taken advantage of and intend to report to BBB. read more

Wow!! Talk about great service! Hassan was my technician and I tell you, he really did an awesome job! He even offered me a chair to sit while I waited. Check out their website because they have coupons that save you money. I highly recommend this place to get your smog needs. Your in and out quickly. I received my notice from the DMV to get my license renewed and that I needed to have my smog checked. Of course, I wait until the very last moment to do this. This place is first come, first serve so I got there on a Saturday morning in case there would be a wait. No wait at all. It took all of 10 minutes and I was outta there. The person who did the check was very nice. I had a coupon from one of the ValPaks and the total was $25 out the door.
