Had an appt for today at 10:30am to get my dash cam installed. John came out to greet me as soon as I walked in. I had purchased the Viofo A229 Pro along with the hardwiring kit, remote and micro SD card from Amazon months ago. We then went out to take a look at the car real quick. I realized that I probably should've got my window tint done before getting the dash cam installed. Oops. He estimated my car would take about 3 hours so I waited in the waiting area. There are two comfy sofas (room for 6 people), a table of snacks and candy, and mini fridge full of water for guests. Coffee/Turkish coffee was offered. He even offered to buy those in the waiting room lunch too! Really nice of him. Bring some reading material or a laptop to watch some shows on. It'll make 3 hours go by quick! John and his team did a really good job on the install! Wires were tucked in. Everything looked great. He took some time to go over the dash cam and the app. Also showed me what options to change on the app settings as well. Front and rear camera are working great! First of all, a dashcam is without a doubt the cheapest insurance you can have -- and I speak from experience. It's probably the best investment someone could make. A dashcam saved me in 2017 from a predator who deliberately hit my car while I was stopped at a traffic light -- then sued me for $200k+ for medical damages, pain and suffering, loss of her car: the dashcam that was installed in my front windshield (and the one in the rear hatchback windshield) saved my bacon -- and a long, expensive court ordeal. Case thrown out, the Plaintiff was arrested for felony fraud and filing a false police report. I countersued both plaintiff and her insurance agent who ran the scam, and not long after winning my suit, both were permanently deported. Why was I here, then? Dash cams are easy to find. Everybody sells them, and if you go online there are thousands of them to choose from. The difficult part is finding somebody to install one without tearing up your car. I had a horrible experience with Audio Express doing just that and refusing to take responsibility for it. Going to a stereo installation joint to get a dash camera installed was a bad idea. With a new ride I definitely wanted a dash cam in it since I had an active one in my last accident that proved it wasn't my fault to the other driver's insurance company. It just concerned me to think I could end up with my new Kia Telluride getting all torn up during the install. I wanted a wired backup camera installed in my 2009 Tacoma. I contacted a number of businesses and Ez Dashcam was the most reasonably priced and the most helpful. Even before I chose this business, the owner John and I exchanged a number of emails helping me choose the type of backup camera I needed. The installation went smoothly and it was obvious John is a perfectionist. The camera and monitor were installed and fit seamlessly in my truck and operates better than the factory installed model in my other vehicle. John didn't let me leave the shop until I had tested the camera and made the adjustments necessary to fit my needs. Excellent customer service!!!!!! If anyone is ever in need of a dash cam installation and wants it done properly, this is the place to go; especially if you'd want a rear dash camera as well and parking mode on when your car is turned off. They would make sure to cable manage your wires behind the airbags going towards the back for safety reasons of course. If you ever installed your own dash cam and slip it through the panels without taking out the panels; this could a problem as obstructing the airbags could have dire consequences so these guys, taking that into consideration is a big reason to have your dash cams professionally installed. They make sure to have the fuse box wired correctly with parking mode, using fuse taps to protect the vehicle, and making sure to have the grounded wire connected to the best metal surface on the car. Because they only do dash cams and nothing else; they are way better than taking your vehicle to a car stereo shop, because they know all the in and outs of dash cams, and also make sure to align your dash cams front and rear perfectly straight to the road. They sell dash cams at their office too so you can purchase one from them which they also price match to Amazon. We bought our dash cam from Amazon and it's the Viofo A229 Pro. We got this recommendation from a YouTube channel Linus tech tips cause they tested all dash cams and this seems to be the best one at having license plates clarity. They did a whole video on dash cams 2 years ago, however their latest video mentioning dash cams was 8 months ago recommending this model from the a video titled "DIY Android Auto". The A229 pro also comes with a polarized lens to help with clarity and we also got recommended and purchased a rear camera polarized lens specifically for this model from EZDashcam as well. Definitely 100% have your dash cam installation here if you want all the cables managed, hidden, and professionally done especially since it's their specialty. Seen Reddit posts about Best Buy geek squad etc, and you prob don't want take a gamble with those. In the waiting area, they have drinks, snacks, and comfy couches!
