We've had our stuff in here for a year, and when we were moving into our new house we went to retrieve our belongings. The unit was disgusting. Full of dirt and dust and trash which had somehow gotten under the door (this is an inside unit by the way). And then: everything was covered in mouse poop. COVERED. All of our furniture had nests in it. We found multiple dead mice amongst our stuff. It was horrifying. Clearly we couldn't take a lot of the stuff, so I called the manager who basically said it wasn't their problem. She then told me it would be $350 removal fee for anything left. I said fine. Then three days later all of a sudden it was $500. We will never be using public storage again and ABSOLUTELY would not go near this location again. Ell was very helpful and have a thorough explanation of the rental process and she did it with a genuine smile that you could feel that she was happy to assist without any hesitation. I was able to get the units I needed in the time frame I was looking for. I have to say that it was the team work between Josh and Ell that made that happen. Josh assisted and was able to find the units that were becoming available. He and Ell made this process such a delight when I was expecting it to be somewhat stressful with the time frame I had. Not only was this experience a breath of fresh air, but it continued each time I was at the facility. The maintenance and care of the facility is just as nice. Each time I have made a trip to my unit I see all of the crew doing something around the facility and each time they make eye contact and greet you with a smile. Josh was painting on one occasion and stopped what he was doing to acknowledge me and say good morning. You do not get this kind of acknowledgment anywhere these days and when you do it's definitely recognized. Thank you Josh, Ell and the other extremely kind and helpful maintenance helper that all I can remember is he has been with them for 4 years . I didn't want to get his name wrong. Our billing date this year was Christmas Eve (12/25/24) and she called, threatening to lock us out of our unit. We assured her we will have it paid by the first - like we have done every month for the past 2 years. The bill was paid 01/01/25 and her argument was "nobody was working that day, so there was no one here to take the lock off." She presumptively had us locked out of our unit. We arrived at 1030 on 01/02/25 and she still wasn't on site. When we confronted her about this issue, she was rude, petty & and argumentative. Then she took 20 minutes to walk down and unlock our unit. Next time, I'm bringing bolt counters and leaving the cut lock right on her desk.

This was not an issue of "budget," but rather of expectations set by your company not being met. Customers should be able to rely on a moving service to honor the scheduled time, come prepared, and communicate honestly. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What's more telling is that several other reviews describe the same experience I had--so this isn't an isolated issue. Instead of addressing that pattern, your assumption is that I "couldn't afford the move"... interesting. While I understand setbacks can occur, dismissing concerns by blaming the customer is not good business practice.
