The ambiance in there is lovely. Love the sort of low light feeling with a mix of perfect brightness. Color choice was good (nowhere near great). As for everything else, a strong dislike. Not very clean or organized. The equipment feels and looks like it was purchased on a strict budget. The placement of a lot of the equipment could have been substantially better. As a hybrid athlete (fighter and body builder) I have most what I need there but the quality of everything is very low budget. I went both early morning 5AM and evening 6PM. 5AM you won't run into an aggressive amount of people, you can get your full workout in pretty well. If you are going anytime after typical working hours it is like a zoo. I tried right at 5PM and right at 630PM. Forget about it. I however do see the potential here. There were moments where I thought to myself, this could be a good gym. Definitely do A free pass to get a feel for the gym. I always extend grace but I cannot recommend this place at all. read more

Don't do it. Yes, it's a more "affordable" gym option for the market, but this is easily one of (perhaps thee) worst gym(s) I have ever had the displeasure of using. It wasn't exactly 5/5 when it was Gold's, but ever since POS - um, I mean *EOS* - took it over, it went from a 2.5 to a 0 in no time at all. First of all, the photos on this Yelp listing are NOT photos from this location. This place is a sh**hole, so I guess that's why they've resorted to the false advertising. Finding equipment is a daily scavenger hunt, if you can even find what you're looking for at all. Many things simply seem to go missing, never to be seen again. Many stations and machines are "out of order" at all times. Most people are unhygienic (don't clean up after themselves, have B.O., etc.), and/or are straight up rude (leaving heavy dumbbells and other items literally anywhere except where they're supposed to go), and the gym is claustrophobic because of how close benches and machines are. It is always crowded, no matter the day/time of day. You will never have any personal space in here. Towels used to be free, now that's it's EOS they charge an extra $10/month for them. And, if you refuse to be ripped off for their rough, stained towels (FREE was the only appropriate price for their towel service), good luck even finding paper towels to wipe down equipment. More often than not, you will bounce from one paper towel dispenser to another - sometimes on both floors of the gym - and find every single one is empty. Again, when it was Gold's there were still some issues, but it was a good enough spot for the price and I trained there for a year+. EOS, based on how horrible my experience has been both here and at their downtown location, will be getting hit with the cancellation. Enough is enough. read more

Golds, I miss you so much. Ever since EoS took over the gym has been run into the ground. Towels used to be included in membership and anyone could grab one from the front desk. EoS then decided to limit access to who could get them by implementing a towel locker that you have to download an app and scan a barcode for...a barcode that SHOULD work with my level of membership but hasn't for months. Every time I ask the front desk about it they just kind of shrug with no offer of a solution. Luckily they do still keep towels at the front desk so I can get one that way, but the fact that no one seems to know how (or care) to fix the problem is frustrating. And the towels all smell like chemicals now. Not sure if they changed how they clean them but there's a noticeable odor. In addition to the lackluster front desk staff it's impossible to get help from corporate. More than once I've filled out the contact request form on the EoS website and aside from the initial automated reply email no one has ever gotten back to me. Super frustrating. EoS also removed the nutrition information from the smoothie bar menu, which is insane to me. Fitness people famously like to track their macros! Luckily I have photos of the old menu saved to my phone so I know what's in each drink, but I find the decision to remove all information both baffling and lazy. Speaking of weird decisions, they also removed one of the sanitizing stations from the cardio area. Um, do you NOT want people wiping off their machines? Because now they won't if they have to walk to the other side of the gym to hunt down supplies. RIP, Golds, this longtime member misses you. Private equity ruins the party once again. read more

I was promised 2 free years of membership after referring several new members, but that promotion was never honored. I've been trying to resolve this since I joined last year. I first contacted the gym in February and was assured the issue would be fixed, but I'm still being charged and have never received the promised credit. The gym is very clean and organized and the machines are very well maintained compared to other gyms I've been too. The main thing I look for is open machine and benches which they have a lot of so I don't have to wait long between workouts and lose my energy or pump. Probs one of the best mid level gyms I have visited in the last couple of years. They have a great selection of machines for lifting and for cardio. They have two stories, with cardio & a studio for classes on the second floor. They also have a significant amount of squat racks. The squat racks at the back have mirrors. Although they are to the back and not the front. so you cannot see yourself unless you turn to the opposite direction. They are on class pass which is super convenient. Street parking at the front with additional street parking nearby. It is not hard to find. Packed most of the day, but didn't interfere with my workout when I was there. I will most likely continue to include this gym in my rotation. read more

Honestly, what has happened to this place! When this was Golds Gym, it had a standard for at least attempting to maintain cleanliness and keep equipment in working condition. Ever since the change in ownership, the place is pretty disgusting. Towels are constantly piled up, the locker room is often covered in sludge, and equipment is broken more often than it used to be. You can tell a lot of the past clientele is moving on, and those who remain are annoyed by the downgrade. Considering EOS now charges money for towels and the tanning booth (which used to be free), there should at least be more of an attempt at upkeep. It's a bummer because the gym used to have a good community. read more

I hate to leave a one-star review because I've been a member since 2007, and for many years this was one of my favorite gyms. The front desk staff have always been friendly, professional, and welcoming. My frustrations are not directed at them--I know many of these issues are beyond their control. Unfortunately, since the new ownership took over, the gym has noticeably gone downhill. The music is often so loud that it's difficult to enjoy a workout, even with headphones. The men's locker room is not maintained to the standard it once was, overall cleanliness throughout the facility has declined, and there seems to be a growing list of broken equipment that takes far too long to repair. Even some of the smaller things have gotten worse. The towel service is not what it used to be--the towels are noticeably smaller and lower quality than they were in the past. The juice bar has also become inconsistent. This morning was the second time I've come in and been told that refreshments couldn't be restocked until after 5 p.m. For a gym that promotes premium amenities, these services should be available and properly stocked throughout the day. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've been a loyal member for nearly two decades. I've seen changes over the years, but this is the first time I've seriously considered switching gyms. It's sad because I truly love the people who work here and have made many friends at this gym over the years. However, the overall experience no longer reflects the quality that kept me a member since 2007. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and invests in restoring the cleanliness, maintenance, equipment, and member experience that made this gym great in the first place. read more

They have absolutely everything an average gym goer needs. Plenty of machines, good vibes, good music. More importantly the dumbbells are relatively organized. Why that one star? Initially it would've been a 3 star: Just like other EōS locations, this ones locker room and shower are a mess. The locker room is nasty AF. Cleanliness of the showers are acceptable, bad water pressure. EoS has a potential to be great but it's only mediocre. All they need are workers who actually clean up and care about their job!!!! So why the one star??? There was this older gentleman, caucasian, probably in his 50s, bald, around 6ft tall, openly pleasuring himself in the shower making other gym goers uncomfortable. When I left the gym, I grabbed reported this incident to someone at the reception. He was a personal trainer and was wearing all black. I reported this incident but unsure if they care enough to do something about this. Dear eos social media person. I do not want you to respond to this just because you're doing your job to be responsive online. I do not want a stupid apology or any excuses!!! I want action to be taken!!! I'm honestly disappointed every time I interact with the front desk employee lightskin taller girl with the long braids. She never greets members, rarely offers help, and always comes across with a rude, dismissive attitude. It feels like she's bothered by people simply asking questions or walking through the door. The front desk is supposed to make members feel welcome, but her negative demeanor does the exact opposite. Customer service and a positive attitude are essential for someone representing the gym, and unfortunately, she consistently falls short. I've been coming to this gym for a while, and one thing that consistently stands out is the attitude of the front desk employee ALEXIS with the curly hair or long braids African American she's tall light skin girl there in the mornings. Every time I walk in, she looks irritated, never smiles, and rarely acknowledges anyone. A simple "hello" or "have a good workout" goes a long way, but that basic level of friendliness is completely missing. She will see you standing at the bar to order a smoothie and act like she doesn't see you and if she does come to help she says absolutely no words at all. A gym should be a place where people feel comfortable and motivated. Many members are already pushing themselves just by showing up, and being greeted with cold, unwelcoming energy makes the experience worse. It often comes across as though members are an inconvenience rather than the reason the gym exists. I genuinely hope management takes this feedback seriously because the front desk sets the tone for the entire facility. A welcoming attitude costs nothing, but it makes a huge difference. read more

This gym can get REALLY packed. Surprisingly, the turn around time for a machine isn't as bad as you might think, even during during peak hours, compared to the Beverly location where people will literally be glued on their phones and hog a machine while their girlfriend sits on their lap. Front desk: nicer than the front desk at the Beverly and DTLA locations in my opinion. Towels: they are definitely cheaper, smaller and thinner than when it used to be Golds, and this is for all EOS locations I've noticed. Machines + weights: generally in good working order but have noticed that when a machine breaks down, the repair time takes longer than it used to. Weights are usually re-racked. Men's locker: there's a disgusting odor that emits from the drainage by the sinks. Also, the steam room hasn't been cleaned in God knows how long. When the steam wasn't working well, the steam room reeked! And you could really see how disgusting the floors were. Showers are also pretty gross if I have to be honest. In summary, the locker room is pretty gross and gym has overall become deplorable, but it's not the worst gym. It pains me to write this review, because I've been using this gym off and on since the '90s, but it has to be done. Since EOS swallowed up Gold's, this place has gone downhill at warp speed. A clean towel will now cost you an additional $10 a month. And of course, the broke-ass clientele forced to use this gym won't pay that, and certainly aren't bringing their own, so you're risking MRSA every time you touch a piece of equipment. The longtime cleaning staff has apparently been fired and the men's locker room is absolutely disgusting. It reeks of urine. There is no way I'd shower or use anything but the urinals, and even that's beyond pleasant. On top of that, the parking validation machine never works, which means having to buzz an attendant - who may or may not come - to let you out of the parking lot, which might throw your schedule into a tailspin and prove especially stressful if there's a line of cars behind you waiting to get out. Don't bother complaining to the staff, no matter how politely. Seldom will you meet more sullen, indifferent , disinterested layabouts, oozing palpable resentment at having to actually interact with human beings. Karen kept this ship running smoothly for decades, and though I understand she's still here, she's never around. I don't know if she's been demoted since EOS took over, but that might explain the terrible customer service at this once reliably-friendly gym. I was initially really happy to find this gym (Gold's Gym) because memberships in this area are often $200+ a month, and theirs was not. When I take classes, especially ones that require mats, I prefer to grab a large towel to lay on rather than lying directly on the mat...... imagine my surprise when I go to the gym yesterday and discover you now need to pay an additional $10 a month if you want to be provided a gym towel?!?!? I categorize this as loss of value. And ridiculous. I hope this isn't going to be some new stupid thing that all gyms do I've never been to a gym where I had to pay extra money for a towel. And this came without warning it's ridiculous. I've immediately considered bringing my own towel, but then I'd have to bring a towel covered in gym germs back home with me. The gym has been decent overall as I mentioned I was initially satisfied when I found it, but I'll probably go back to the drawing board and do some googling and see what else is in the area again. read more

I signed up for this gym about a month ago when it transitioned to EōS. Since then, I've repeatedly noticed an older man lingering around me while I'm working out. At first, I tried to ignore it, but it has become increasingly uncomfortable. He does not appear to be focused on his own workout and instead seems to hover nearby, especially when I'm training legs. His behavior feels inappropriate and unsettling. I regret not addressing it in the moment, but after multiple instances, I genuinely feel uncomfortable and concerned. He typically comes in during the mornings and acts as though he's working out, but his attention seems to be directed toward me rather than his exercise. I believe this behavior should be looked into, as it creates an unsafe and uncomfortable environment. read more

Remonde at Eos Fitness of Hollywood,CA - a personal trainer- is no "coach," but an impertinent cretin who's a bully, has no regard for fellow gym users and does whatever pleases him with no consideration of others. Case in point: Remonde claims he "didn't see you there" despite my standing next to him and totally disregard my need to be shielded from excessive light by abruptly raising the blinds to a large window I had just lowered to protect my vision. Remonde is unapologetic even when he's wrong, instead chose to escalate the tension by yelling louder to argue with me when confronted. Remonde is also a liar by making up bogus 'gym rule' that claims members are prohibited from lowering blinds when I asked him not raise them (having just lowered the blinds myself) because the light is bothering me. Remonde is combative, oblivious, arrogant and totally unfit to coach & a terrible representative for a what well run gym ought to be. Why would anyone pay extra & sign up for trainer sessions when low life bully like a Remonde is what's "helping" folks at Hollywood Eos Fitness in arguably the health capital of USA, Los Angeles??? Sad to see this place go downhill so fast after the transition from Golds. Cleaning is at a minimum. Towels constantly pile up and don't get disposed of. Paper towel dispensers never refilled. No Soap or Water pressure in the mens locker room. What use to be a clean sauna now smells of BO and never turns on more then 5 mins. Surprised health inspectors don't shut this place down. This is what happens when Major Corporations take over. Ev thing goes to slop. Staff seems to be trying but I guess there aren't enough of them. I've been going to the Hollywood location for a while and overall it's been getting better, especially for the price. The staff here are genuinely caring and attentive. I've even seen the manager out on the floor and locker room helping with cleaning, which says a lot about the culture they're trying to build. That said, the biggest issue isn't really the staff--it's a few of the members who act like keeping the gym, locker room, and equipment in shareable condition isn't everyone's responsibility. Since the towel service became paid, I've haven't noticed people leaving their towels everywhere, which used to make things messy fast. I really think the gym would benefit from a cleaning staff member constantly rotating through the locker rooms and gym floor to keep things in check. Also, someone might want to have a friendly word with the member who dyes his beard in the locker room and leaves a mess behind. Overall though, I do see improvement and appreciate the effort from the staff. For the price point, this location is trending in the right direction and I hope they keep building on that momentum. read more

POV: You're a chicana woman trying to get a workout in and after coming to this EOS, you decide to NEVER come back. I thought the negative reviews were a bit dramatic, however I completely agree now. This gym is filled with impatient and inconsiderate MEN (boys). Had three men attempt to take my spot for the machines I was in line for (didn't let them take my spot). This one dude that looked like Pedro Pascals son started to cry about how he was in line before me. "Unbelievable, can you believe this" he said. Like bro, with those drama skills, I bet you are him! This has never happened to me. I honestly think it just might be the area/location. It makes these people fill their heads with entitlement. Not woman friendly and stinks like armpit. Unfortunately, maintenance concerns also seem to go unaddressed. GM is never in sight . The main reason I am writing, however, is to report an ongoing issue involving an older male member whose behavior has made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I have raised this concern before, but I do not feel that it has been taken seriously. This individual appears to repeatedly watch me during my workouts, and when I notice him, he quickly looks away. On multiple occasions, he has also seemed to appear in the same areas I move to, including downstairs and near the locker room. Whether intentional or not, this pattern of behavior has become disturbing and has affected my ability to feel comfortable at the gym. A gym should be a safe and respectful place for everyone to work out. I am asking that this matter be taken seriously, looked into properly, and addressed as soon as possible. NO REFUNDS. I had recurring. Bought 12 - 25 min sessions including 2 free sessions, $100 off, and suppose to cancel 1 of my recurring for $548. Yesterday, they charged me $162 recurring. Today, I went to complain about the $162 recurring charge and and wanted to cancel my$548 12-25 min training sessions. They said they couldn't give me the $162 but could give me 3 months. Lopez Garcia, the Sales Manager for selling training sessions, tried to wiggle himself out and said I had to give 30 day notice from today. He even threw the trainer under the bus in saying it was his fault for the problem. I stated, the trainer had nothing to do with the sale. I told Lopez you did the entire sale. Both the GM and Lopez Garcia/Sales Manager said $548 Paid-in-Full was non-refundable and All Sales Are Final. The problem is that there is no signed poset on each desk about cancelations. When you e-sign you don't have a screen to read what you are signing. I went home. Call my bank. Filed a dispute. I felt I was misled, deceived, manipulated, and lied to make a sale by Lopez Garcia/Sales Manager for Training Sessions. EOS has a history of complaints about CANCELLATIONS. Maybe some attorney should file a class action against EOS. Fustrated, upset, and angry. The Sales Manager and GM are sleezy salesmen. read more

I've been going to EōS Fitness in Hollywood for a while now and honestly really like it. The equipment is super modern and there's a lot of variety, so you never have to wait around or get bored with the same machines. What I enjoy the most are the group classes they're actually fun and motivating The instructors bring good energy and it makes it way easier to stay consistent. Also, the people at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. Every time I have a question, they're quick to help and just overall nice, which makes a big difference. Overall, great gym for the price. Clean and the vibe is pretty chill. Definitely planning to keep coming. read more

The gym is fairly modern in terms of equipment. They obviously operate under the model of high volume so it's generally always very crowded, however not much worse than some other gyms. My biggest issue with this gym is the cleanliness. It always looks like a bomb went off in the locker room with towels and trash everywhere. PLUS the steam room always smells pretty bad, which makes it barely even usable. Seems like you could fix that with some menthol pretty cheaply and easily. Clean up the gym and you will keep the customers. read more
