There is parking available in the shopping center( both in the lot and garage). Fudo is a Japanese-style restaurant with yummy cocktails and a great selected of sushi/entrees. We started with cocktails-- I got the Lychee Martini and my boyfriend got the King of Hearts. Both were so delicious and well crafted. We ordered the Dynamite Shrimp as a starter and oh man, I never wanted it to end! We were literally obsessed with the quality and flavour of this appetiser. For my sushi, I got A Star Is Born and I don't remember what my boyfriend ordered but they were both phenomenal! Really some of the best sushi I've had in a very long time. Next thing is it's such a big place and while it does get busy and have a wait during peak times I've come on weekdays and haven't had issues with being seated right away they have both indoor and outdoor if you are only eating outdoor due to COVID. then THEIR MENU AND OPTIONS!! Oh my Lanta. It's so extensive. There's truly an option for everyone with regards to budget and choices ie if one of ur homies isn't super into sushi. This is my favorite place for meeting friends. For drinks they have amazing cocktails, a great selection of cold and hot sake and whiskey. I love the lost sword for cocktail it's so refreshing and has green tea And sake I really enjoyed the Shirakawago which is an unfiltered sake. We have been visiting Fudo almost on a weekly basis since the first month they opened. It was the site of the third date with my now wife and continues to be our date night spot several times each month. There are so many friendships we have made over the years at Fudo from Anes, Thi, Grace, Stephanie, Winny, Ria, and MacIntyre (...maybe Grant, too) that it will be impossible to ever find a new restaurant. The sushi is the absolute best in the State of Georgia. We have tried all the major spots and enjoyed omakase dinners across the world (think Sukiyabashi Jiro) and the top in Atlanta (Mujo/Hayakawa)... the quality of this fish and the knifework of the chefs is the best value you will find. We come back again and again. For anyone visiting for the first time: Best nigiri: Hamachi (Yellowtail Tuna) Best roll: Mono Best drink: King of Hearts / Lychee Martini Best appetizer: Cha Sha Bao or Japanese Uni Best Sake: Ask the Sake Sommelier that works every night! We had lunch here on Sunday because my daughter wanted vegetable tempura and edamame (she got and enjoyed both). The menu was huge and the server was helpful because we were a bit overwhelmed! Overall, I enjoyed the funky, hip vibes. The drinks were creative and beautiful. My husband and I split the Avengers Endgame roll, the Bang Bang Shrimp roll, and another roll that featured a nice mix of fish, crab, etc. (sorry, I don't remember what it was called because my husband ordered it). We had plenty of food! If I'm being a little nit picky, all three rolls had a little too much sauce and the metal chopsticks were slippery when the rolls were so stuffed! But overall we enjoyed the flavors (especially of the Avengers Endgame roll). The wasabi/pickled ginger are both excellent and nice enhancements to the sushi. My water glass was never more than half empty. People were clearly having fun. I look forward to returning. read more

This was the best sushi place I've been to in a long time. The menu is super creative from the name Lt the rolls to the actual combinations. We tried about 6 different rolls and I was absolutely stuffed- they were huge! The apps were amazing as well- try the Korean rice cakes. Sooo savory and tasty I can't wait to have them again. It's just stupid expensive for how much food you get. $14 for a softshell crab roll that wasn't enough food for a lunch. So you're probably spending $30/person to be full? 2 rolls or 1 roll + app + maybe a salad or soup. The rice bowls were around $10 but small also. If you're a small eater, you'll be satisfied with a normal lunch price but if you're a medium or a big eater. It's not very traditionally Japanese, they don't have many nigiri options, and have a bunch of cream cheese or fried roll options. Very modern, not very welcoming feel. Fudo always hits above and beyond for me. Took my family out for mom's birthday to Fudo, and Stephanie took care of us extremely well. Her prompt service made the entire experience even better. It was still pretty chilly today, but the staff had no problem accommodating outdoor fire heaters for our family. Stephanie was on top of things and made sure that we had a great time -- I was especially impressed because it looked like she was taking care of 2-3 other big parties at the same time. Besides from this, we were very pleased with the food. We ordered the rice cake, brussel sprouts and dynamite shrimp for appetizers, the 18 pc sashimi platter ($65) and six rolls (which I cannot remember the names of). I also let my family try ONE piece of otoro sashimi ($23 for 3pc!! but can alternate according to market price). The sushi was extremely fresh, as well as all of the fish dishes. I knew Fudo was a fusion restaurant, but I think they do better than most sushi places that claim to be authentic. I'd definitely return, though it is a little pricy so I would come here when you want to flex or don't have a budget on your meal :) read more

I would say that this is a pretty good sushi place for Atlanta at its price point. I would say this I actually a 3.5 stars for me but I rounded up because the presentation really is quite beautiful and the service was nice. Sushi-wise, I might be a little biased because I tried a lot of amazing sushi on a recent New York trip, and this doesn't quite measure up. And the best sushi in Atlanta in my opinion is either at Umi Buckhead or MF Sushi. They are much pricier though, so it makes sense. Here, you get the fancy sushi experience for a cheaper price point. The interior feels really clean and new. And the sushi presentation is beautiful! I just didn't think the sushi was as good as I was expecting it to be. We got 3 rolls and a hand roll. The hand roll, Epi 8, was my favorite. It has fish with mango and a white truffle sauce. I thought the white truffle sauce was unique and amazing with the fish! The mango tasted really sweet and fresh as well. I would highly recommend this hand roll if you have any kind of taste for truffle. We also got the Star is Born Roll, X-Men Roll, and the Tuna on the Rocks. The Star is Born Roll is pretty good. I did like the Tuna on the Rocks and the rice was crispy without being too hard. However, the spicy tuna was not as flavorful as others I've had and it seemed quite a bit less saucy. The X-Men Roll was my least favorite. While interesting looking with all this black roe on top, it really lacked flavor. The fish didn't really taste like anything and neither did the roe. It was decent but felt like something was missing. Most of the specialty rolls ranged about $10-$13, with a few cheaper and a few more expensive than that. What I liked is the huge variety. There are a lot of options to choose from. I loved how everything was presented. I also want to rave about the drinks. They were awesome! They were really strong yet sweet. I got the Lychee Martini which I loved. This is a must-try if you like Lychee. My bf got the Mandarin Oriental which was good but was less sweet and more herbal (with basil on top). He doesn't like drinks with herbs in it but he did like this one. Service was awesome. We came in pretty late, close to their kitchen closing time (Kitchen closes at 10:45), but they still served us great. Everyone was nice and attentive. When we left, everyone said goodbye and thanks for coming. Bathroom is also super clean so that is a plus. There is a parking lot outside, but it might get more crowded during a busier time. This is my least favorite place for sushi (I am sure there will be more to come if I start becoming less discerning). I should have researched better and read 1/2 of the reviews out there. So this is not exactly a Japanese place. It is a mix of Japanese and Korean style cuisine. AMBIENCE 1/5 Upon entering, I already find it extremely noisy. The place was not jam-packed , but the loud music just pounding away. This place definitely has this industrial look but definitely uninviting. I was appalled with the restaurant using bandana as napkins, is this a joke? I hope this is not the new norm. Oh and I absolutely hate those chairs here. They are uncomfortable as hell. This restaurant definitely tries to have this hip and trendy feel, but gosh, seriously??? I do like the wooden table but that was it. FOOD 2/5 Miso Soup ($3) 2/5 - Mild in taste and diluted. Steamed Pork Bun ($6) 0/5 - disgusting. I could not even force myself to eat more than half. Eel Dancing ($12) 3/5 - Tasty but the eel on top were extremely thinly sliced. So yes, they are then way more expensive than other respectable legit Japanese restaurants when you consider the ingredients. B.T.S ($16) 3/5 - Essentially 6 pieces of roll topped with seared bulgogi, fried kimchi, spicy sauce and scallions. Way too spicy for me. My tongue was burnt :( Tasty but way too heavy. SERVICE 3/5 Hostess and servers were rather friendly and nice. The wait time for food to arrive took like eons. I kept looking at my watch, looked around and realized not many tables were waiting for food. My question in my mind was why it took so long?? Oh and of cos I started to get annoyed while sitting on that uncomfortable chair. If I was alone, I would have holler down a staff, cancelled on those rolls and left. Honestly, it was my idea to check out this place. It was definitely my fault. Maybe that was why I was so angry (with myself). I took full responsibility for this choice. I could not wait to bolt out of the door when the check came. (I actually felt better after exiting the restaurant!) One word- Disappointing! You won't find me returning here.
