Me, my wife, and 2 of our friends came to Banana Leaf to check out their Christmas cocktails. We were pretty quick, as we had a reservation for another place right after this. I had never known of this place, until our friends mentioned it. Me and my buddy got the margarita, and the girls got the lychee drink. They came out pretty quick and were honestly pretty strong. It is a Thai restaurant, so they have a full food menu, but we just came for drinks. There is plenty of parking as this is basically in a large Kroger shopping center. It's a little small inside, so just keep that in mind if you have a much larger party. I definitely want to come back in the future to check out their food! read more

I'll have to come back some time and try a few more dishes. I came for a weekday lunch with friends and while they do have a lunch menu, it's a bit higher than similar Thai restaurants. I had the Kra-pow (ground chicken with string beans and other veggies, rice, and fried egg) for $16. It was a good portion, but for lunch I'd rather it be slightly smaller and cheaper or smaller but come with coconut soup for the price. It was ok, very salty which overpowered the flavor. It's one of my fave dishes at other restaurants. The Thai tea was also good. One friend had a vegan curry which she enjoyed while the other had a bento box type lunch meal with a spring role, miso soup, and a sushi roll. The server was nice, no complaints there. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful, you'd never know from the inside that's it's in a plaza and not a stand alone restaurant. Very important too, the bathrooms were clean. Overall, a cute restaurant. I wouldn't mind coming back to try one of their summer cocktails and other food. They also have a cute photo opp at the entrance. read more

Came back to Banana Leaf after a few years with a big group again. I enjoyed my Chicken Pad See Ew dish, but the service felt a bit slow. I also would not recommend the Ember Smoked Duck dish. My boyfriend got it because it sounded interesting, but I was not a fan at all. It mostly felt like fried rice with some duck, and the smokey flavor wasn't very present in taste. The duck also felt a bit dry. The Chicken Pad See Ew was delicious with a good amount of noodles and chicken! It definitely hit the spot for me. The interior has been well maintained and is still neatly decorated. Good place for a dinner with friends, family, or a date, but just a tad on the expensive side. read more

A nice regular Asian restaurant with good vibes. Lots of parking in the strip and we didn't need to wait to be seated inside. Service was good. We got the following: 1. We got takeout so I can't really speak to the ambiance or service, but the food was ready when we got there which was great. It's in a large shopping center, so while there are a lot of parking spots, I had to park pretty far on a Friday night. We got the veggie gyoza and spring rolls to start. Both were good - nothing special but yummy. It's always nice when there are several veggie appetizer options! I got two sushi rolls, Bangkok Crunch and Pui Hi. Both tasted very good and had nice textures. The flavors were great and the size of the rolls was decent for the price. I'd be open to trying other rolls there. We ordered the chicken Thai Fried Rice. My gf really enjoyed it, and it was a very large portion, like several meals' worth. We also ordered tofu Pad See Ew, which I know is basic but it's my favorite. This was nothing like any Pad See Ew I've had before. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I was expecting. The sauce was salty and garlicky, when it's usually sweet. I know the vegetables included were listed, so that wasn't a surprise, but I've never seen that mixture in this dish before. The Ambiance is nice. I went for lunch. The wait staff (one person) was extremely busy, as she had a large party (poor lady) I had the Calamari, a Lychee Martini and Shrimp Pad Thai. It tastes pretty good. I'm a Pad Thai snob being from SF, but I would give it a 3.5 because it was very salty. I added some spice (chilli sauce) which made it a lot better. The Calamari was a small portion imo, but chrisp and tasty. I know it was full of sodium because I had a huge headache the next morning & that's all I ate that day. I finally got a chance to visit Banana Leaf and it didn't disappoint. I tried a green curry dish that served at a festival a while back and decided to visit the restaurant while I was in the area. The restaurant is located in a large shopping plaza and plenty of free parking was available. The restaurant was decked out with beautiful Halloween decorations. I sat at the bar and was greeted promptly. To start, I ordered a margarita flavored with Thai chili. It was really good and well balanced. I also ordered the spring rolls and Tom Kha soup. Both were delicious. For my entree, I ordered the green curry with chicken. I really enjoyed the dish. I didn't add any additional spice and it still had a kick to it. I have been wanting to come here for a while, and I'm glad I finally did! I went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty empty. I like the decor because it was really floral and pretty. The service was fast and efficient, and the server was attentive and helped me figure out what meal would work best. I had an excellent experience at Banana Leaf! Parking is shared by many places, so you should be able to find a spot. My friend made a reservation for us, and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. our server was so sweet, kind, and patient. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, tofu fried rice, pad see ew, and the banana fritters with matcha ice cream. Everything was exquisite. Our server constantly checked in on us and took our payment table side. We were given a warm goodbye and even took a selfie at their photo booth before we left. This was such a great experience. Were visiting Atlanta and staying at the Holiday Inn Express Atlanta North Perimeter Mall and Area. A late afternoon lunch with good friends demanded good food and drinks. Banana Leaf was perfect. The food... just mouthwatering. It feeds the eye as well as the soul. Every dish is delicious & lives up to its tantalizing presentation. I happen to love Thai iced tea and theirs is great. The booths are intimate but still roomy. The decor is light and sunny. Our server was great. He was kind enough to refrain from rolling his eyes or outright laughing at us. That alone is a 5 star quality given how much tripping over ourselves we were doing... everything was tempting and there was dithering. Good food however it was nothing too special. They did have interesting dishes, which I have not seen in other restaurants which is a bonus. On the other hand, their beef was extremely chewy in the Gaeng Keow Wan. This dish was supposedly the three spice level, the highest spice level this restaurant has. However, even a person who cannot handle spice at all could eat this with ease, not spicy at all. But the flavours were intriguing and tasty. read more

Came here a couple months ago and forgot to review! Dazzling interior and service. Food came out fast and everything was delicious. Tables are a little cramped though so you can totally hear your neighbor's conversation. I got the spring rolls, veggies masher roll, and the avocado roll. It was really good. My first experience was eh... I give it 2.5 stars. Both my boyfriend and I ordered the spicy garlic chicken which tasted more Chinese than Thai. There was a faint hint of Thai basil flavor but that was it. Also, we ordered it via DoorDash and there wasn't an option to enter that we wanted it Thai spicy so we went with the medium spicy that it specified in the app which wasn't spicy at all. It was very mild. Also the reason it doesn't get 3 stars for me is the chicken was dry to me and I added shrimp to mine which were very overcooked. Also the size of the 3 shrimp does not equate to what you pay. I couldn't imagine if I had only gotten shrimp and they provided 3 of that size. read more

My friends and I ordered Chicken satay, keow wan, Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) and Prik Khing to go and split between 3 people. Everything was well packaged and separated. I really liked the tangy sauce with the chicken satay as well as the traditional peanut sauce on the side. The keow wan was a very thin curry but tasted creamy and smooth. Drunken noodles were savory but I do prefer more of a saucy version personally. It was my first time trying Prik Khing and it was spicy, well fried tofu with lots of veggies like more peppers and string beans. Overall, I really liked their food. They have cute Halloween decorations up right now, which is really nice. They have a relatively extensive menu of sushi and Thai food and appetizers and a huge list of desserts as well. I did get a drink which was delicious and unique. I also got the ground chicken dish, which was overall good, but I would say on the saltier side. Their tempura cheesecake was good, but I've had better. Overall, it was a good food experience. My husband loved the duck he got. My toddler picked at a lot of foods and seemed to like the chicken and some other things. I would definitely come here again, but maybe get something different. We ordered Nigiri and got one piece! For $12! It came on a plate that was way too large for one piece. When I ask about that, they brought another piece on another oversize plate and charged us another $12. The never checked back to say" is everything ok? or can i get you anything else, etc., There was a party going on at the same time so giving the Staff a bit of leeway on that, but I really didn't like the way the server came up and announced the total of our bill (out loud) without even providing either an itemized paper copy, or showing the total itemization. We were splitting the bill so she took my credit card and stood over me while entered the tip. (a practice I absolutely hate.) and then snatched the machine away before I could give any review on the next screen. She did not offer any receipt, so I guess we will just have to see.... read more

The waiter was very friendly and attentive. He took our drink orders, and they came out quick. My friends had ordered a coconut Mojito, which was a bit on a sweet side, and champagne, which was delicious. The food is very vegetarian and vegan friendly, and I ended up ordering Basil Fried Rice. You can ask for different spice levels and was informed there is also chef spicy which is spicier than Thai spicy. I ended up ordering that level and was still able to handle the spicy level. For a full meal, kitchen was SLOW, with only 3 tables at of patrons and mat various stages in the meal seemed time seemed out of proportion, less than desirable and with sushi being advertised, oddly only the very basic rolls are GF. When you walk in you are met at the door by the smiling staff who is eager to seat and serve you. The ambiance is soft, inviting, and welcoming from the low lights, the incredible smells/aromas to the hanging wisteria that adorns the ceiling like a vibrant blanket. The attention to detail is beautiful and it almost makes you feel like you have drifted away even if for a moment. And to tie more into their culture the food that is brought out in a timely manner is fresh, plated impeccably, and authentic tasting. Oh, and can I say 5-star because they will box your food for you in front of you of course, that's a bonus for me especially for a quaint restaurant. I sat out on the patio, listened to one of the best relaxing playlists, and had the Red Ocean which they made specific for me paired with a Lychee mojito and it was chefs kiss. I later sat at the bar and had a cucumber mint mojito made again by Jobi, when I say I may just come back for just this drink!!! My goodness! But let me not leave out the fact that I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners whose name was Jobi, he was so down to earth, accommodating along with the coolest smile that he made me feel valued as a paying customer.
