We like this place because it's one of the few spots that carries BravesVision, so it has become our go-to place to watch games. The beer selection is good and offers plenty of variety. The food is decent, although somewhat overpriced (for example, $18 for a chicken wrap). That's not really why we come here, though. We usually sit at the bar to watch the game and have always had a positive experience until our most recent visit. Shortly after we arrived, a woman we believe may be the owner's wife sat across from us at the bar and began loudly discussing operational issues, vendors, staff, issues with the karaoke host, and even the city of Chamblee. It felt less like a customer experience and more like we were sitting in the middle of an internal staff meeting. We tried to tune it out, but given our proximity, that was difficult. The situation became particularly uncomfortable while we were eating. She began telling a story involving roaches and repeatedly referenced them several times. Hearing an extended discussion about roaches while eating was enough to ruin our appetites, and we ended up pushing our food aside. We mentioned our concern to our server, but we did not expect her to address the issue herself since the concern was with the owner. Customers come to relax, enjoy a meal, and watch a game, not hear restaurant business issues or discussions about pests while dining. We have enjoyed this establishment in the past, but this experience left us questioning whether we'll return. read more

When we arrived here it was a quiet lunchtime, literally us and 1 other table, but service was bad. We had to flag a waitress down to order, she forgot 1 of our drinks, and when we got our food the order was incorrect. Never came by to check on how we were doing and had to ask multiple times for refills on drinks. By the time we wanted to leave it was busy, but still had to ask multiple times for the bill. It's a seat yourself type of place (dogs welcome) and there's a small "play area" for kids with a board and some toys. - 10 wings ($14.50) in 2 flavors (mild and lemon pepper). I thought they were both just okay, actually ended up taking them home and making a sauce to coat them in. 5/10 - Wisconsin cheese curds ($11): portion huge, the cheese is nicely battered and comes with a ranch dipping sauce. While it is slightly salty I really enjoyed it and would come here just for this 9/10 - moondog burger ($15): beef patty with bacon and comes with fries. I enjoyed my experiences here. I came and watched a game and then came here again for lunch, both times I had good food and good service. The parking is limited and its around the back. They have a large patio where you can bring your dog if you want. The first time I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and side salad. Whew! The sandwich was juicy and seasoned well. The side salad was crisp and fresh. I also had a delicious cocktail, the Fur Baby, which contained lavender vodka, honey jack, rosemary, prosecco, and sparkles. SO cute and it was quite strong as you might expect. The second time was for lunch, and ordered the grilled chicken salad. It was huge and I had half of it left to take home. We also tried the Wisconsin cheese curds which were crispy with delicious cheese inside. Would definitely recommend. Anyway, can't wait to watch more games here and try more food! read more

I was surprised this place wasn't busier on a Thursday night. That being said, the food and drinks were good. I think our server might have been new because she didn't seem to know a lot and didn't keep track of who ordered what (we had 4 people). I had the fried pickles and a draft beer. Came out to about $20. I appreciate that they use the handheld devices for paying - don't have to hand over your cc while they wander away. Decent spot. Lots of TVs. Good beer selection. This is some what of a Large venue sports bar. They have plenty of screens and a very large beer menu (not formal at all). But if that is the vibe you want then this is a solid choice. This place is in the cut so you may not know it's there unless you are going to it. It has free parking so you can make it here and walk around if you are going to take a stroll (the area is a bit walkable as well). The bartender was super cool .. especially trying to help me figure out what to order on my first time (she is the one who put me on mixing the wings). Wings - lemon pepper and spicy BBQ sauce mixed (yes you can mix). Wisconsin cheese curds - these are really good and you got a lot of them. They come with ranch dipping sauce which is okay but you can honestly just eat them on their own. They're crispy and breaded very well. Moon dog burger - This burger was a problem and I didn't know about it until I tried it! I wanted a regular burger but I still have to go against that and got the burger with the bacon and the beer cheese. It was savory. It got a little bit messy though so I'll just keep that in mind because the cheese does go everywhere. But the burger taste is really really good. Overall I would definitely go back. This is a really decent neighborhood spot that has some good food and some good beer options. It's definitely worth it. As I'm typing this. I'm thinking about a way. Can I go back for another burger? We stopped in for a bit of day drinking, though the draft list leaned heavier than I usually prefer--less in the way of crisp pilsners and lighter lagers. Still, I managed to enjoy a couple pours, including a stout with some real backbone once the lighter options ran dry. We settled into the over-21 section, which offered a slight buffer from the families dining with kids in the main room. It was quieter, at least until the sports coverage on the TV kicked up--lively, but not overwhelming. The food menu looked solid, with plenty of tempting options, but we'd already had a generous lunch and were saving room for dinner later. Trying all the hot wings near me and this was the next in line. I got takeout, and it was easy parking despite people being there for a football game. The food was hot, and the staff were very friendly. The wings were good with generous portions. I liked the flavor of the hot, and I re-learned that lemon pepper just isn't my favorite. The cheese curds were well seasoned, but I also decided these are not something I like in general. I will be back to try the bar fair and maybe just hang out. I drove by Moondog Pub & Grub maybe twenty times before I finally had the wherewithal to visit. And I'm glad I did. Do yourself a favor and stop in. The atmosphere is very casual, laid-back. We sat on the back porch and for a minute it felt like I was back in camp. Calm. Breezy. Service was quick. We didn't have to wait long for anything. And our servers were super-friendly. My wife and I shared a big order of wings. Half lemon-pepper and half sweet Thai chili (which did not find to be too hot). The wings were juicy and meaty. Totally hit the spot. I'm hopeful that this pub continues to find its feet, because the location and promise is definitely there. It's a good spot for a casual eatery with good drinks, but unfortunately on first visit we didn't have a great experience. We were told to seat ourselves, and waited almost 10 mins before relocating to the bar as there were no servers in sight and no menus. The bar staff was friendly and there's a decent range of draft beers, but the place was almost empty (maybe 4 tables total) and yet service seemed erratic/slow. The food was very average, fries undercooked and meat in the turkey club was super dry. It was nice to note that there's an adults only seating area which likely comes in handy at busy family times. I really hope we got them on an off day and will try again - I'm rooting for small businesses like these to keep coming to the area. read more

This is my first time here. I have driven by it a few times when driving through downtown Chamblee. A business associate of mine wanted to meet for dinner so we decided to try this place out. They had an absolutely amazing band playing there. We were there on a Wednesday night. If you're in the classic rock, this band crushes it. Anyways, we decided to sample a few of the appetizers. We got the fried Wisconsin cheese curds, which might be the best I've ever had in my life. Got the loaded tater tots, which were excellent and some buffalo wings. They had a good crisp to them and had a really good flavor. For the main course, we both ended up getting the hamburger on a pretzel bun. I would say it's in the top five best hamburger I've ever had.....and I get around. :-) That being said, I highly recommend this place! read more

Aidan was an amazing server!! He was so attentive and kind and made our second visit ever the 'stick in the map' place!!! Having come first time a week ago, & to be honest- we sat at the bar and ordered their homemade pretzel..omg, it was soft but still all pretzel! I vowed i would try again. Zero disappointment! We had the Cheese Curds and the Steak Sandwich - both seriously amazing! This is now my serious favorite place to come. So many beer choices (i love a triple IPA on tap) and not exaggerating that the food is so many steps above!! We will be back many times and i will tey to remember to take pictures!! read more

Love to post an excellent review but every time I go in there I feel something wasn't right. First I love their food choices. The service however is questionable. Anywhere from being ignored when I was one of a handful of patrons. Had to go to the bar to settle the tab since the waitress had disappeared. And when they ran out of the wine I ordered, and I asked they give me the next level wine at the same price, the waitress dismissed this like I was crazy for asking. It was only $2 more but the principle of the thing. Some may think this is nit picking but since the place was nearly empty, one would think they could accommodate a guest request. read more

First and foremost, the service and food were perfectly fine. The problem is that I felt like I was at Chuck E Cheese half the time. There is a play area and it ended up being toddlers running everywhere and parents that were oblivious (at least 4 separate groups). I was there last night for Mike Veal Band . It was incredible. Music, food and service. All fantastic. The crowd was great too! Mike Veal has a new Wednesday home at Moondog. Highly recommend anytime. The food is always good and the service is great! My favorite is the turkey club but you can't go wrong with any of the food. read more

Atmosphere was great, they had live music and the patio is dog friendly. They have a wide variety of beer on tap. The service was a little slow but they've only been open 3 weeks so I don't count that against them. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The prices are great for the portion size.
