The instructors are all awesome and they really push you. I also like that they aren't so pushy with buying more classes or gimmicky monitors. That was definitely a turn off for me with one of their competitors who shall remain nameless (starts with an Orange ).

I recently tried Barry's and loved it so I figured I'd try this one as it's closer. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk got me checked in and told me I could wait until the earlier class finished so she could give me an overview. They do have lockers in the bathroom for your stuff; however, most people just left their stuff in the open cubbies at the front. One the earlier class let out, us first timers were brought into the room and shown how to work the treadmill since it wasn't a generic one. For this class, the room has blue lighting and the instructor is on an elevated platform (or should I say DJ booth). The stage is where the exercises are demonstrated and you can always look for the instructor. While Barry's usually does a clean split between time on the treadmill and then the floor... SWEAT has 5-7 minute intervals and rotations. I didn't love this as I was sharing a space with someone else so when I got to the floor... there was sweat from the other person over the bench and it was a bit gross. Additionally, I think more time gets wasted doing the transitions. The workout itself was great and the instructor was nice. When on the treadmill, I appreciate that they give a walk, jog and run option although with the speeds they mention... no way are you still walking unless you're doing your own thing. On the floor side, I do wish they offered more options or guidance to those who have injuries and can't do some movements. I understand it's a large class so it's not feasible but it's something to note. All in all, it was a good workout and I'd visit again BUT would still pick Barry's over this one.

Unlike a lot of boxes that give some basic intro workout, the coaches pushed us and really challenged our fitness threshold! My friend and I both appreciated the great instruction and the attention to detail, especially when it came to form and also motivation! This is one place I would love to be a part of! One great aspect is that the they incorporate Olympic Lifting instruction in the workouts. To me, Olympic Bar training is essential for overall, practical strength gains. In one 10 minute instructional session, I learned more than in 3 months of dissecting YouTube Olympic lift videos. Also, they provided much more personal attention to fundamental form and really tried to correct some bad habits. These guys care about you improving! I think their pricing plans are also very competitive and possibly better than most boxes considering the knowledgeable coaching and the heavy incorporation of Olympic Lift instruction. Thanks guys!

My review will cover Stefani's barre class. I was first introduced to barre in 2019 and I've fallen in love with the practice. Stefani's barre class at Facet Seven Heights is my absolute favorite! Stefani is very upbeat, personable, fun, and extremely energetic! Her class is great for beginners and those who are advanced in the practice! She always has a fun playlist to rock out to and it makes the class even more fun! If you visit this gym, I definitely recommend checking out Stefani's barre class. She teaches on Mondays at 7:10pm, Thursdays at 6:20 or 6:35pm (sorry I can't remember), Saturdays at 10:35am, and Sundays at 9:45am.

Instantly when I started taking classes at Facet Seven I appreciated the community and friendliness at the front desk, members, and the instructors as well. I mainly take Stefani's barre, yoga, and ABC class but also have enjoyed HIIT and strengthcon with Emma. Stefani is a bright light and makes working out so fun but also challenging. Emma similarly looks to challenge but is also motivating and provided me modifications when needed with an injury, looking out for me when I didn't realize I could re-injure something without even knowing. The gym has a variety of equipment but is on the smaller side, so it's easier to see and get to know regulars in your class but also meet new people. Highly recommend!

It is for those three reasons I whole heartedly recommend Iron Oak. The coaches will take the time to help you understand the movement, and the objective of the movement. If you are visiting, do not waste your time shopping around, there is no better box in Houston!

The coaches are very welcoming, knowledgeable about the movements, and create an atmosphere of camaraderie that makes everyone feel accepted no matter their level of fitness. I'd even feel good about bringing my own mother to this gym. Now how many CroffFit-ers can say that? Also, they are intentional about their training methodology. I am a very analytical athlete, coming from an endurance background of triathlons and running, and knowing where we are headed with our training and why we're going there is important to me. In my first conversation with Colin (even before signing up) he was able to explain to me what was coming down the training pipeline in the next several weeks and what the next phases of training were going to be. They actually put some thought into where their athletes are going rather than just randomly throwing together workouts for the sake of variety. Iron Oak takes the correct approach, knowing that in order to get good at something you need to do it with some amount of frequency. But there's plenty of variety in our workouts to keep the boredom away. A few other things: - The longer class (1 hour 15 minutes) means there's plenty of time to do the workout rather than rush through everything. - I feel very safe under the coach's supervision. - They have a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE facility! That means there's room to push sleds around, run, do farmer carries, etc., all without going outside. And they have a fridge should you need some mid WOD snackage. I'd highly recommend this CrossFit for anyone.

The website is clean, well-designed, up-to-date, and very informative. The Facebook page provides statuses on weekly free introduction and yoga classes. I attended a free intro CrossFit class on a rainy Saturday morning. Bowie was very cheerful and made sure to introduce himself to all the newcomers. His positive energy was infectious and made me enthusiastic to start the workout. The gym is a "box" type building with one room containing all the equipment and space for the workouts. You go through the CrossFit workout sets in the group, and it's very encouraging to go through it together. Because, trust me, with these intensive workouts, you're gonna need all the encouragement you can get! Fortunately, as I lay dying in a the middle of a set of pushups, Bowie remembered my name and (again, cheerfully!) pushed me to keep going. I like that even though the exercises are tough, Bowie never resorts to the "bootcamp style" of yelling putdowns or using negative reinforcement. He plays a varied set of music from his iPhone throughout the hourlong workout. I definitely laughed at the (somewhat joking) "LIGHT WEIGHT!" yells around the room. I didn't feel like anyone was judging me based on my fitness level or anything else. After the free introductory class, there is usually a complimentary (optional) yoga class with a Big Yoga instructor. It feels great to wind down with some stretching with phenomenal yoga teachers. The gym itself is clean and down-to-earth. Ample water and towels are available! I like that they cap their class sizes to promote safety and higher level of personal coaching attention. If I start working closer to Montrose again, I would definitely consider coming here regularly... and, Roots Juice is just 3 minutes away for an after-workout smoothie!

Best gym on the East Side!!…read more I started coming to Facet Seven Eado to get in the best Bride-To-Be/ Wedding shape I could, and it happened thanks to Mikel!! I highly recommend booking with him if you're in the market for a personal trainer! Not only will he help you reach your goals, but he's also very informative with why you're doing certain exercises (which is very helpful as someone who has no clue!) I do have to say, having a personal trainer really made my experience at Facet Seven Eado! I love that you can view all the trainer profiles online and book with them, making the whole process more approachable. The gym itself seems to have everything you would need - from machines to free weights to classes. Parking: They have some handicap parking and a few open spaces in front of the gym. That being said, I almost always had to park on the side street. Accessibility: In addition to the handicap parking - They do have a ramp for accessibility to the entrance as well, but otherwise get ready for a pre-workout warm up hiking up the stairs to the front entrance! They also have a large shower stall (at least in the women's locker room) for accessibility needs. Staff: The staff (especially the trainers) are beyond welcoming. For some reason the people at the front desk aren't so much. During my time here, I rarely got welcomed which does make it a bit awkward if you're not so comfortable in the gym. Also, they have a scanner to checkin on your app but that worked less than 50% of the time for me, leading to more awkward moments with the front desk. Space: The space is very open, allowing for a lot of different areas. During my time here, they did move some of the weights around, which made for a bit of a choke point/crowded area for the weight machines near the rowers. Personally this was a turn-off for me. Also, being a warehouse, it gets warm. There is AC but during the summer months it doesn't cool too effectively - which I guess helps you sweat and maybe is a good thing (but for me wasn't the best). Overall, I'd definitely return here if I needed a PT to help reach another goal. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a new gym in general !
