F45 Training North Sunnyvale - My clarification email about their request - Interval Training Gyms Near Me - Sunnyvale, California

I've been to multiple F45 locations and normally love the format, energy, and professionalism that the brand is known for. Unfortunately, F45 Sunnyvale feels like a major outlier -- and not in a good way. I'm genuinely surprised this studio is still operating under the F45 name, because the experience here doesn't reflect the same standards I've come to expect. Trainers at this location don't demonstrate exercises live, they just mirror the video playlist from an iPad onto the TV screen and leave it at that. One coach in particular gave off the impression of being completely new to the F45 environment -- they didn't look or carry themselves like a trainer at all, and there was no engagement or technique correction throughout the session. It made the class feel unstructured and even unsafe at times. The equipment and studio upkeep also leave a lot to be desired. The space feels gritty and worn down, lacking the clean, energized environment that most F45s provide. I couldn't help but compare it to F45 Branham Park or F45 Mountain View, which are both far superior in terms of coaching, energy, and maintenance -- and they're priced similarly. If you're thinking of trying F45, do yourself a favor and explore one of the other nearby studios. Sunnyvale's location simply doesn't deliver on the brand promise, and I walked away feeling like I wasted both my time and money. read more

been going here since february 2024-- maybe once or twice a month lol the best part about f45 is that all you need to do is show up! the workouts are displayed on the screen and are also demonstrated by the coaches in the beginning of the class i bounce between this location and mountain view. the main differences between the two are: 1) size: sunnyvale location is bigger 2) the schedule as far as hybrid, resistance and cardio goes are on different days compared to mountain view read more

Disappointed to have to update my previous review this way. When I signed up to workout, Ben agreed that he'd allow me to sign up for just one month thus giving my 30 day notice to cancel at the same time. I attended class frequently during that month--indoors and the last week it switched to outdoors in the parking lot since SC county entered the purple tier. The month finishes up, but my credit card is still being charged (kinda weird, but they charge weekly). I've emailed twice, texted and called multiple times but no answer--it's been 2 weeks. When Orangetheory accidentally charged my account, I was able to get a response and reversal within 24 hours. Ben was available when I wanted to sign up, but decides to ghost you when you need to cancel. Proceed with caution. read more

Usually I would blame myself for not checking reviews before signing up, but the Manager Ben has made the whole experience feel so predatory that there's nothing left to feel bad about. I signed up for the one month trial membership, which went great. The female trainers are a pleasure to work with and it feels like they care about your progression. After the trial ended, Ben signed me up for a whole one year plan without me asking for it. I got covid shortly after and asked to cancel the membership. Since then he has totally ghosted. The most unprofessional attitude I've encountered in many years. I thought this kind of "customer service" was dead, but I was wrong. After asking 4-5 times to cancel my membership, I'm still being charged every two weeks. I asked to cancel June 9th. I've never hated a gym experience more. I'm currently looking to involve corporate (which they make as difficult as possible, probably for situations just like this) and have sent all email transactions to my attorney. read more

Beware! I signed up back in late 2020 and after injuring myself during a workout, I attempted to cancel my membership Several emails and text messages yielded nothing, no calls, no acknowledgement, just silence! and they kept charging my card Obviously customer service is something that F45 doesn't prioritize. read more

I had a horrible experience with Ben. My recommendation "PLS AVOID THIS F45 STUDIO LIKE A PLAGUE", Ben is just after money and his thirst for money has gone up with Covid situation. I purchased "F45 Flexi | Weekly" membership on 11/06 (used to pay $45 at F45 Cupertino but Ben wanted to charge $59 per week). On 11/17/2020, Santa Clara county moved to Purple Tier and ordered to stop indoor activity inside GYMs. Due to raise in covid cases and also due to Santa Clara county update, I reached out to Ben to freeze/suspend my account on 11/17, he said studio will continue to do sessions indoor on 11/18 and 11/19 and recommended me to continue the sessions to stay healthy and I just followed his recommendation. Couple of days later on 11/19, California issued a Stay at Home Order and I requested Ben again to suspend/freeze or cancel my membership due to raise in COVID cases. However I didn't get any response to my msgs or phone calls from Ben, instead he continued to charge $59 on 11/20. I also tried visiting the studio to resolve the issue amicably but I couldn't find Ben or could get any response to my repeated phone calls or msgs. Ben is just after money, he won't let you freeze/suspend or cancel memberships due to raise in COVID cases. They will continue to charge your card despite your requests. Stay away from his place!! read more

Love the classes every evening! I've become a regular and that a big deal for me since i used to hate doing any kind of workouts. The coaches are friendly and make the workouts seem easy and help when needed. I love coming in every single day! read more

Honestly I had really high hopes for this gym but it didn't pan out that way. I've never needed to reach out to management at any gym, even planet fitness, and not be able to get a hold of someone for months on end. The only good I'll say is the women trainers are very nice and extremely up-spirited (Heidi, Kasey, and Michele). They really did make you feel welcome and helped along workouts. The issue is with the owner Ben. I signed up for a year membership, but a few months into the year I had to relocate due to work since I'm in healthcare, my move wasn't planned. I figured I'd reach out to see if there's anything we can do about the contract since I wouldn't be able to use it. I honestly just wanted to ask, and if "sorry we can't refund anything" was the answer, I would've taken it. But I was completely ghosted by Ben who owns the gym. I've sent three emails, called, sent personal texts, and even reached out on social media (an employee suggested I do this, I'd never choose to be this annoying.) I'm also very uncomfortable with chasing people. I'm not the type of person that likes to send numerous messages. So I would wait a few weeks or even a month before I reached out again. I gave benefit of the doubt and thought maybe he missed it. So I reached out to the trainers there and they personally let me know they made him aware of my emails, sent me a picture of a note they left on his desk- but still nothing. It's honestly very unprofessional and frustrating. You can return an email or call, it's not that hard. You can let your clients know that you're sorry you can't do anything about it and not have them spend months trying to contact you. I went to the Yelp reviews and saw that many people had the same issue, I guess it's my fault for not reviewing that prior to signing up. Upon reading the Google reviews, I noticed that many of the employees at F45 are the ones leaving reviews as well which is interesting. Anyways, nice trainers, horrible management. I attached my email just to show how forthcoming and nice I was. My advice, proceed with caution. Definitely do not sign a year in advance contract because good luck trying to get a hold of Ben when you need to discuss possible changes. I also read that many people couldn't get a hold of him when they wanted to end their month-to month and continuously got charged. Which has prompted me to cancel the card I used and order a new one in fear that I would get a surprise charge once the year ends. read more

I bn love F45 north Sunnyvale! I have been a member since 2018. Ben and his crew are fun and energetic! Fitness for a lot of us can be difficult and intimidating most of the time. But this studio make working out not just tolerable but fun. Though some workout may be difficult for someone like me, the coaches always have some form of modifying so you get the most out of your workout. read more

Went in for my first F45 workout and I gotta say this was the toughest workout I've had in a long time. You have to come and check out the brand new facility. You can get a great workout, get cleaned up afterwards (they have showers), and go straight to work or home depending on the day you go. They offer three types of workouts: -Romans: 45 minute interval strength training -Atheltica: 45 minute cardio interval training -Hollywood: 60 minute hybrid interval training (Saturday mornings only) I've been able to train under three of the trainers so far: -Ben (owner) is extremely supportive, vocal, and energetic -Ryan (manager) is high energy with great insights -Helen is very helpful in watching your form I will be sure to try their other workouts. Can't wait! read more

Have been a member since 1-1/2 year now. Love the team. Love the trainers. They advice you and always challenge you with new difficulty levels at each station. Definitely recommend every1 to try the classes. Probably the biggest and spacious F45 in usa. read more

Amazing classes! Everyone's very friendly and encouraging. Being a beginner, Heidi and Ben really help in coaching and correcting postures! Really enjoy my classes! read more

One of the key elements to my lifestyle change is to lose weight and to become more consistent in the process with my physical activity; whether being just being more active but also by going to work out. The owner Ben and manager Ryan both welcomed me into their training studio and have been nothing but encouraging throughout my lifestyle change. F45 Training is not an ordinary gym, it's a studio that has 45 minute long HIIT classes that vary from cardio based training to more of a resistance based training with a cardio accompaniment. I have felt my body positively changing by getting more endurance, some weight loss and confidence in attending a training class that is filled with others trying obtain basically the same goal: a healthy and fit lifestyle. Everyone is encouraging and no one is better than the other. Forty five minutes, functional training and a fun environment - what more could you ask for?! I needed a change from my workout routine about a year ago and had heard about F45 through some friends. I decided to take a chance and try something new and I was immediately hooked. The workouts are always changing, which makes each class challenging and new. The staff is motivating and provides a fun atmosphere which makes time fly by. Every class can be modified for any level and there's a variety of cardio and strength days to cater to everyone's needs. So happy to be a part of the F45 team! read more

Best place to workout and get fit. Its just 45 minutes and you get a good mix of cardio and strength training. The trainers I mostly work with are Ben & Ryan. They are super friendly, cues you on your form and gives you the right instructions and keeps you motivating through out the workout. Everyday is fun and unique. Keep challenging yourself in every class and you will see your body changing in just a couple of weeks! read more

I went to the facility to check out their work out. It was great. However their employees are absent minded. I tried the two week promotion and could not make all the classes so I turned down the offer before the two weeks ended. I talked to a biological male rep and told him I'm not signing up, before the two week trial ended. I canceled my commitment. And they still billed me twice w out cancelling it. They are not professional at all. Amateur running a business. Shame on them. read more

I am so glad this new gym opened up. I never heard of F45 until I saw the announcement and giant sign with white, blue, and red colors. I did a little research and was intrigued. F45 is world wide, multiple locations all around the world, though I don't think it's a one gym all access around the world membership. It consist of 45 min workouts, multiple stations with different focus, and each day is a different workout. They have names for each workout. If you look at the F45 website, you can read more about what each workout consist of, but it's all functional training/HIIT type of workouts. T/TH are focused on strength days, M/W/F is focused on high cardio and endurance. Sat will either be "West Hollywood" or "Hollywood" and they are are extra, extra fun, something you have to check out if you like to be dripping in sweat. Coaches are all awesome! Most of my workouts have been with Ben, but I have also taken classes with Ryan and Shelby. ALL of the coaches focus on form and technique, making sure you get it right. They literally are walking around, checking up on everyone and their form, motivating you that there's only "15 seconds left!" or giving you that extra push to increase your weights. Music playlist is excellent, definitely pumps you out! I joined F45 for their 8 week challenge and wanted to wait until the end of the challenge to give a full review. Many members lost a lot of weight! I didn't lose as much as I had hoped, but I was stuck at a plateau and just couldn't figure out what was happening. The challenge got me over that plateau, and I lost 10 lbs, most of it being fat loss. I worked my a** off during this challenge. Even though I didn't hit my goal, I have to thank F45 and the coaches for pushing and motivating me. Now for the one negative: pricing! I honestly feel like the membership is pricey since there is no "open gym" option. The price is, however, comparable to other gyms in the area. I like to focus on a little more strength so it's too expensive for me to pay for two gym memberships. But I love this gym and the coaches so I'll be joining them on a future challenge and will be getting a class pack. It gets addicting and the all of the coach's energy and positive attitude makes this place so fun. You'll be seeing me again, F45 North Sunnyvale! read more

Not to be dramatic but F45 changed my life. I've been looking for the right workout that was challenging and diverse enough that wouldn't bore me and would produce results. Not to mention the community at the North Sunnyvale location is very inviting no matter your fitness level. When I started F45 I was lucky to workout once every two weeks. Now I go 5-6x a week and I'm a-d-d-i-c-t-e-d. It's the only thing that can force me to wake up early to workout before work. The trainers (Aria, Shelby, Ben, and Ryan) are extremely friendly and they will help you improve your form and push you to your limits. I will say the membership is pricey but I see it as an investment for your health. Whatever gets my lazy ass up is worth it in my opinion. Workouts: The workouts alternate between cardio and strength building Monday - Friday for 45 mins. Each workout has a theme and the time intervals and sets change (e.g. 45 secs of work 15 secs of rest) based on the type of workout you're doing. Classes on Saturdays are an hour long and it's a full body cardio/strength building workout! What to expect: When class starts one of the trainers will explain the formation of the workouts and the different time intervals while the other trainer demos the exercises simultaneously. Don't worry if you can't remember everything at first. There are monitors in front of the class so you can always refer back. After the demo find a spot and then there's a guided stretch sequence. While you're stretching you'll be assigned a number associated to one of the stations. The timer will go off and then you'll get started! Additional perks: - Extremely energetic and friendly trainers - F45 Challenge! It's an eight-week program that is part of your membership when you sign up. There's suggested meal plans, articles, and InBody measurements so you can track how much muscle and fat you lose/gain. - Towel and water service - Showers and amenities - Plenty of parking - Easy to book classes through their app - No cancellation fees unlike other studios - Class sizes are generally small. Saturday is their most popular class but even when it's booked I feel like I have plenty of room. - Heart-rate monitors to track your workouts are included in your membership. I believe they have a special where you can get an additional week free if you sign up early OR get a heart-rate monitor (but don't quote me on that). read more

I started looking for somewhere to work out when I was about 9 weeks postpartum and came across F45. I was really looking for a place where I could get back into shape and increase my energy and endurance. I was initially nervous to go to F45 because I thought it looked really intense and technical. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up or that I would be awkward with the movements since I hadn't worked out in a really long time. I was pleasantly surprised on my first day when the trainers approached me as soon as I walk in the door and introduced themselves. Then at the beginning of the class, the other members gave me a really warm welcome as well. The classes are each 45 minutes (Saturday is 60 minutes) and all of the trainers are fantastic. They are so encouraging and keep the class really high energy, which is super helpful when I start to get tired and slow down. I also had a ACL repair that occasionally gives me problems, but they give great feedback on my form and provide modifications when I need it. There is a wonderful energy every time I walk in the door and I always walk out feeling like I got a full body workout. I have been going to F45 for about 3 weeks now (average of 3x/week) and I am hooked. I am stronger, have more endurance and have lost some of the baby weight already. : ) Try it for yourself and I'm sure you'll love it. read more

This is the best F45 gym I've been to hands down. I was introduced to F45 by my friend and I instantly became obsessed (I'm not much of a gym person either). I've never worked out harder and also had so much fun. They have the best group of trainers here (Ben, Aria, Ryan, and Shelby are the DREAM team). After going for just a few months they became my close friends. Rather than dread going to work out I was eager to get there every morning. I recently moved from San Jose and to San Diego and I haven't been able to find anything that compares to F45 Sunnyvale. If you are in the area stop by here for a kick ass workout and a good time. read more

Great workout, wonderful trainers, well-appointed facilities! The F45 Workout is efficient and effective--great for all fitness levels because you can modify weights etc, it's quick-paced and the time goes by quickly. The instructors at this location (I've had Ryan and Aria) are motivating and helpful with tips on form etc. This space is also well laid out, spacious, good temperature. All the equipment is in great shape. And there are thoughtful amenities like free towels and bottles of water, plus toiletries in the ladies' room. Definitely recommend! read more

Great HIIT style workouts that have cardio and strength style templates to keep pushing you to your limits. I enjoyed the class when I first signed up, and they were indoors. I liked the variety of works and the incorporation of a lot of weight exercises. However, after a few weeks of being outdoor only, I noticed a big difference in the variety of workouts. Previously, I had no issues when requesting to pause for a week which I thought was great. I simply told them a week in advance. When I decided to cancel and let them know I was moving out of state, they said it wasn't a problem and sent me a form to fill out online. Little did I know, until I asked why I was still charged a week later, that I would be charged for additional 4 weeks (over $230) because I did not give a 30-day notice. I disagree with this policy of charging people for a service they are no longer using, and I hope the company will think about changing it in the future. They charge you weekly, not monthly, so I think that providing 1 week notice for cancellation would be fair. Hopefully, Ben will take this into consideration along with all the other negative reviews regarding similar issues. read more

Finished my 7 days for $29 trial and now I'm hooked! Ben is GREAT! He makes you feel right and home and comfortable as soon as you walk in. The music is fun and motivating. The workouts are definitely challenging but they move so quickly that you don't realize how hard you are working. I could be making this up but I swear I'm looking more fit after 5 workouts. I highly recommend F45 and especially this location with Ben as the instructor. read more

I'd heard about F45 through social media posts for a few years from friends who lived in other states. In the past, I would just weightlift on my own or with a friend but felt like I wanted to try something new. I had never been one to go to regular fitness classes so when I found an F45 so close to my house I decided I'd try out the free welcome week they offer. I dragged my roommate with me and after that week, we were both hooked! The energy of other F45 team members pushIng themselves offers a different type of motivation that you may have in a normal gym. The environment that the staff provide is awesome, the workouts are always challenging, and they are only 45 minutes long! Definitely worth a try if you want some new motivation, are short on time to get a good workout in, and want to see and feel the results of making yourself stronger. read more

I won't lie, when I moved over to San Jose from Australia I stacked on more than a few pounds.
