The workouts are varied and challenging. Each day of the week is dedicated to a different part of the body (legs, upper body, core, etc.). The coaches are motivating and great at both correcting form and offering variations for moves that may be difficult for people with knee or other issues. Shout out to Coach Euni! Her classes are always the most intense and leave me feeling spent in the best possible way! The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and make an effort to learn your name so they can greet everyone personally. Great gym! Highly recommend!!

I showed up 5 minutes early and instead of focusing on onboarding or safety, the staff prioritized forcing me to create a marketing account and hand over my email before class. Nobody asked about **my knee pain** or offered workout modifications like Basecamp or Burlingame Fitness did. I was thrown into a dark room mid-class with no idea where my station was, what weights to use, or even how to start(!) the treadmill, while the oversized class made it impossible for the instructor to notice I was struggling. I had to stop multiple times just to change weights and restart. Change and restart. In the end, I lost the class credit and time. The whole experience felt like corporate lead-generation and profit mattered far more at Barry's than the safety and success of new members.

She's Hawaiian sunshine in human form, always upbeat, which definitely helps at 7 a.m. Her happy-go-lucky energy is so constant I can't decide if she's my trainer or just a very cheerful Energizer Bunny in disguise. She's also dedicated, always learning the latest fitness research to fine-tune my workouts. She helped me get stronger, and now we're tackling weight loss. But don't think it's all serious science--sessions with her are also comedy shows. She'll get distracted, lose count of my reps (always when they're the hardest ), and then showers me with a nonstop chorus of "Good job! Good job!" until I finally give her the side-eyes . But here's the thing: even with the chaos, Chermayne knows exactly what she's doing. She motivates me, keeps me accountable, and somehow makes sweating buckets feel fun. If you want a trainer who'll push you, cheer you on, occasionally forget what number you're on, and still make every workout the highlight of your day--Chermayne's your girl.

This studio looked great and was well-reviewed, so I became a longtime client and even prepaid for a package of classes. One day the studio was very cold -- Parkinson's makes it hard for me to regulate my body temperature -- so I closed the door. I was the only client working out at the time. Moments later, a man violently slammed the door back open in my face. No explanation, no apology. I later learned he was the owner. We adore our trainer, who went above and beyond to help, even arranging a meeting with the owner to address what happened. Instead of apologizing, the owner insisted I had violated the rules. All it would have taken was, "We keep the door open here -- please leave it, and let us know if you're cold." Instead, he doubled down. I trusted this studio with my health and my money. The front desk was hopping between assisting members and giving us tours. Mind you I arrived 30 minutes early only for one of the front desk girls to get us started THREE minutes before the class was supposed to start. To top it all off they didn't mention what number I was so I went into the class not knowing where to start. In addition, they put me on a rower that didn't have an IPad connected to it so the instructor had to run and grab one. The moment she put it on and connected it my heart rate monitor wasn't connected. It was such a shit show and it wasn't the instructor's fault at all. The instructor actually tried really hard to calm me down and make sure I was setup. She was very nice so no complaints with her. I woke up early for this and literally wasted almost 45 minutes of my day. I literally walked out and gave the heart rate monitor back to the front desk. They could see I was distraught. It was just a complete disappointment and waste of time. There needs to be better training or more staff to help with the peak days and hours. My BIG feedback is to have one front desk person focus on the intro members and the other focus on current members. This whole ordeal made me not want to join Orangetheory at all. What's even worse is that I live like three blocks away and was hoping to find something within walking distance. The search continues.

The workouts are challenging and always changing and you don't get bored. I get bored really easily so that's saying something. However the most impressive part of this gym is Ami and the coaches. It sets this F45 from the other F45's I've been to (from London to Chicago to NYC to SoCal). There is a sense of community and everyone is rooting for each other and the coaches drive that. On top of that the coaches know how to motivate you regardless of your fitness level so you should not hesitate to give it a try. Even when I think I have nothing left they can get more out of me and I love the push! I've worked out all my life in some way, shape or form but the intensity and levity combo at this gym make it hard to go do anything else. I'm not a gym person in general but I really enjoy getting my workout in here. Again, it is the coaches and Ami who really make this a place that is worth continuing to go to.

CrossFit Burlingame has a very tight-knit community but I like to do my own thing and they are very respectful of that also. I don't feel pressured to join the events and feel equally valued as a non-social member so it's a very comfortable atmosphere. Both the coaching staff and the members reflect the diversity of the area and I feel like I fit in. In terms of the pandemic, I appreciate that they have set up an outdoor exercise area in the parking lot with safety measures like temperature checks and mandatory hand-washing and equipment-wiping. They changed the online class signup system to limit class sizes and also allow for mobile self-check-in to further protect each person and minimize risk. I feel very lucky that I have an outdoor exercise option during the pandemic!

I wanted to give CrossFit Burlingame a fair shot, but after a few months, the logistics and the…read moreenvironment just aren't working for me. I honestly dread coming here. For $300 per month, save your money and go somewhere else. You've been warned. The Good: The onboarding process was seamless, and they are highly responsive via text when you are first signing up to learn more. The workouts themselves are solid if you like Mayhem programming.(lots of cardio) the programming doesn't lend itself well to being able to scale handstand pushups or overhead squat where I have seen other boxes have better scaling options for these. The Not-So-Good: The Commute & Parking: Getting here is stressful. The streets leading to the gym are incredibly narrow, and people tend to speed through them (I've actually had a couple of close calls/accidents). Parking is strictly street/residential and very crowded; I've had to park a 15-minute walk away before. I came 39 mins early once and there was still no parking to be found and just gave up and went home. For $300 per month this is insane. Limit on class signups: they max each class at 28 signups and there's really no limit but the gym can comfortably handle 16-19 people. There's not even enough space in the gym for 28. One time there were so many people some people had to leave and couldn't even fit. Some people come in 15 mins late and crowd the back and there's just chaos and safety issues when there are 28 people in the gym or more. Some people also don't signup. Atmosphere: It feels a bit unwelcoming and feels very chaotic and disorganized. Coaches just run the class without much personal interaction. In my months here, no coach has ever introduced themselves to me. Cleanliness: The facility needs maintenance. The bathroom is frequently out of order, and the floors leave a heavy black residue on your hands during floor movements. Cancellation: Be aware that the cancellation form is pretty buried on their site, and getting a response via email might never happen. It's almost impossible to cancel or get a response about cancellation. It's a decent place if you just want to put your head down and workout, but keep the parking, cleanliness, and hands-off coaching style in mind before joining. Not all workouts are posted on app: some of the classes's workouts like workshop or power building are not posted so you're gonna be in for a surprise if you sign up for those.

My schedule can get busy, and having the flexibility to book sessions whenever it works for me has made it so much easier to stay consistent. The concept of infrared sauna workouts is something you truly have to experience to understand. You're in a private sauna room choosing from multiple guided sessions, everything from yoga and Pilates to high-intensity interval training (HIIT). No matter which workout I choose, I leave drenched in sweat but in the best way possible. What really stands out is how I feel afterward. Instead of feeling completely drained like some traditional workouts, I feel relaxed, lighter, and almost reset. The infrared heat helps reduce soreness, speeds up recovery, and gives you that detox feeling that makes your body feel refreshed from the inside out. It's the perfect combination of intense and therapeutic. Now let me talk about Neil L. phenomenal doesn't even begin to describe him. He took the time to personally show us around, explain how each session works, and break down how to maximize results. He wasn't just giving a tour; he was educating us. He shared tips on how to structure workouts, how to stay consistent, and how to really push ourselves while still listening to our bodies. His encouragement genuinely motivates you to try your best. What I also appreciated was how knowledgeable he is about their products. He doesn't "sell" you he explains how everything supports your goals. From supplements to recovery tools, he connects it all back to performance and consistency, which honestly makes you want to invest in yourself and keep showing up. The atmosphere at HOTWORX Belmont is clean, modern, and empowering. You feel like you're part of something focused on growth and wellness. If you're looking for a workout that makes you sweat, detox, recover faster, and actually feel good afterward this is it.
