I've been to Faang quite a few times before. Same family owned environment with knock your socks off flavor. This past visit I ordered the Siam duck. This dish wasn't just only beautifully plated and served quickly. It's a dish that will make a duck lover out of anyone. I also ordered the calamari appetizer. Plenty of indoor and patio dining, they also have a bar area. I've dined here a few times but primarily order carry out. Staff is always helpful and pleasant. The wonton soup is a favorite of mine, and I go between entrees but tonight we got Drunken Noodles and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Yum yum! read more

Ordered the chicken larb salad. The chicken was piping hot which made the lettuce wilt, and there was at least half a cup of water on the plate like someone spilled a bowl of soup on the salad. Hot wet lettuce. read more

Faang Thai is a good, and consistent, Thai restaurant. We've probably been there ten times over the years, and I can't recall a particularly bad or over-the-moon-awesome experience. The only comment I have from our most recent visit last night is that the tempura appetizer was lava hot when it came to the table. We both burned the roofs of our mouths. Ultimately, it's tempura, so maybe it should be expected to be straight out of the fryer. So, maybe that's on us. read more

I get that food costs are up, but Faang has significantly raised prices and halfed the size of their portions. The green curry is literally about half the size it used to be. We now drive out to Haymarket to pick up Thai food because it's that much less expensive without the loss of quality or quantity to do so. read more

Poor customer service. My family placed a order togo and once we got home a meal was missing. Called the restaurant and staff that answered the phone said they dont give a credit or anything when the forget someones food . I couldnt believe it. Today 10/4/25 around 6pm is when this took place. When i got to the restaurant the staff STILL proceeded to say they dont give a credit or anything. I proceeded to tell the man at the front.. its very poor customer service to forget someone's meal and they have to leave there home AGAIN to come back out to pick up what should be in there bag to begin with and you give no discount no credit .. nothing... our family of 14 will never order at this restaurant again. Update at 624pm got home with COLD shrimp wrapped in their version of egg roll paper. They never re-made fresh ones they gave me the old ones read more

The one star is for the food. We have been a returning customer because of the caliber of the food. In fact, we drive from Gainesville just to order their food. NEVER again. There was a group of people in their 20's, so incredibly loud and obnoxious where we couldn't even carry a conversation at our table. I spoke with our server and he proceeded to tell me that perhaps I should try carry out next time. He followed up with telling us not to come back. This is a food establishment with total disregard for those who are spending money for a meal. Pathetic and unacceptable. Money will be better spent at a fast food establishment, they could even take a lesson from Chick Fil A...but if you are looking for a place to be treated rudely and disrespected, this is your go to. read more

My family enjoys Thai, but I am not often a fan. However! Faang changed my mind. I had the Bangkok Sunrise, which was slightly sweet with fresh mango and a sprig of basil. I loved it! My daughter loved the Rama Chicken, which has a mild curry flavor, she gave me a taste and I loved it! My wife loves Pad Thai, and this is one of her favorites. The servers are friendly and it is a very family inviting place. This was my first time and I hope to be back soon. read more

Mom and I came here to beat the crowds of Father's Day. We won. We scored a table for two and enjoyed some fried spring rolls. Finger food they were odd to be stuffed with rice? Strange. I ordered the Paanag Curry and mom got the Broccoli and noodles with seafood. Both were tasty. The curry had a little bit of spice (given one pepper for American Spicy) but I was ready for more. Me, my daughter and son's GF had lunch at Faang Thai today. We started with the sampler platter. Satay, potstickers, tempora shrimp, and dumpling similar to kanom jeeb. The dumplings were dense and with no flavor. Satay was good but needed seasoning. Even the peanut sauce was a bit underwhelming. We ordered our lunch. Combo fried rice, Rama chicken and for me green curry w/chicken. These plates were huge! My green curry was delicious. Lots of green and red peppers, peas, bamboo, tons of chicken and great flavor. Didn't make my eyes water but almost! That Rama chicken looked so good. I'll have to remember to try it out. Everyone enjoyed their dish. I saw a table nearby with a thick steak on the plate with fries and broccoli. I'd like to try that also. Another great thing is that it's a 10 min walk from my house. Just picked up food of Hawaiian shrimp, Penang curry duck, spring rolls and sides of fried rice. The spring rolls were horrible. The Hawaiian shrimp, well...peppers in the meal were so large, you had to cut everything up. All the Shrimp had not only tails on each one, but were half way down the shrimp. When you're paying these high prices, would expect to be able to open your meal and just eat. Not have to finger each shrimp to get the long tails off. The Penang curry duck, the duck is so dry and tough. Barely even eatable. We have been here for dinners several times a few years ago, and all the food was delicious. We Paid over $70.00 for our 2 meals, and we will never go there again. read more

I highly recommend "Fa ang Thai Restaurant and Bar" near family Dental Care to anyone driving through Warrenton, Virginia as it is a great restaurant with good service and wonderful choices. My favorite dish that I tried was the one my brother Gabriel ordered (he always orders the best dishes) which was the "Drunken Noodles with Shrimp" which was actually the dish recommended by the waiter as well. The Shrimp were huge and I loved the taste of the basil that was cooked with it, the chewiness of the rice noodles, and the flavors of the tomatoes, onions, and everything it came with. I ended up ordering the seafood green curry with extra vegetables - it came with a lot of calamari, 2 large scallops and about 4-5 jumbo sized shrimp. They never asked us how spicy we wanted the food but both my brother and I thought it was the perfect spice level. I also loved the strong peanut flavor coming from the "Vegetable Pad Thai" and the flavor of the mushrooms in it and the fresh bean sprouts. My mother, who usually doesn't eat Thai food and doesn't eat spicy food, loved this dish. The "Shrimp lemongrass soup" was a little salty for me, but still I loved the shrimp in it, and the abundance of cilantro in the broth. My dad ordered the "Sweet sour chicken" which usually I am not a big fan of but I did like the way they ordered it here. Also, if you order something Spicy, the Thai Iced tea is a great way to off set some of that spiciness. It is a little sweet but very tasty! Very good Thai food. Just stopped in on our way back from Shenandoah to DC for lunch. Ambiance and vibe inside isn't Thai- decor-wise, but who cares if the food is fab! We both ordered the Gai pad kapow which is our usual go-to for Thai food and Faang Thai did not disappoint. I ordered mine with tofu and it was excellent. Portions were huge and we also ordered steamed veggies. All around a great lunch. Chatted with the lovely Thai lady there and reminisced about Thai travels. So we eat here often. For the most part the food is good. However the last 4 times they have given me soy beans instead of snow peas. Tonight I called and told them that they sent the wrong vegetable. A nice kid said they would send out the correct vegetable. Thirty minutes later the kid called and said that the owner told him to tell us that what we received were snow peas. It was obvious that the kid was nervous because the owner told him to lie. The kid knew damn well that we were given soybean pods. Look if the owner is tired of being in the restaurant business then get out and sell to someone who knows the difference between a soybean and a snow pea. We like this place. Yelp's rating on this place is definitely too low in 2023, and I'm not sure why. I do thai every week at a variety of places in NoVa. This spot has been consistently good for years, and so far it's the best place west of Fairfax. Faang is a proper sitdown place with plenty of room and nice subdued decor. Where most thai places are carryout focused, and seem like they're trying for 'cute', this place is more classy. The food's great, though lately I've experienced a few small issues. But there's at least a half dozen things that are excellent. The Drunken Noodle is especially good, maybe the best outside of DC. So is the Chili Basil Duck... not excessively fatty like a lot of places, with delicate crisped basil leaves and a strong spicy sauce. Wild pork has this rich, savory, peppery sauce similar to yellow curry. Also try Cashew Chicken, the Fresh Rolls, and Kapow. For some reason, the fried rice (a safe bet in most places) is the only thing I don't like. The consistency is a little odd, it's a bit hard and seems caramelized somehow. Maybe that's the cause of some low reviews, because it's hard to understand how a place does so many dishes well, but not this. I like that it's relatively quiet, not too bright, and the temperature and volume are kept under control. It feels pretty spacious and well-separated from the bar, if you're trying to watch a game. Service is also reliable, a couple of servers have been there for years and get your order in and out as efficiently as possible. Everyone is nice. I see some reviews mention pricing and portions, but basically everyone's prices are going up this year, and for me the portions are good. Went in and had the Pho. When they brought it out the fish sauce smell was overwhelming. Pho does have fish sauce in the recipe but when it's all I can taste it's way too much. Second, the meat was sliced too thick. The broth is supposed to cook the meat completely. It can't cook the meat if you slice it too thick. The basil seemed like it was not washed. Bean sprouts were not crisp. Too much onion piled on top. Bare minimum service so my tip reflected that. No problems. Lesson: don't order Pho at a Thai restaurant. read more

Food was delicious. Enough for two meals. Only issue was there was a couple in there with their dog. Definitely not a service animal. Wouldn't sit still, kept getting up whenever someone came in. Highly recommend this place. Their menu is filled with gluten free and Vegan/Vegetarian options. The service was top notch. I came in for lunch on a Friday. They were pretty busy. I ordered the mixed vegetables, fried tofu and a glass of wine. Everything arrived in a timely manner and well presented. The tofu was very crispy and the sweet and sour sauce to my liking. The Mixed Vegetables, hit every mark for me: flashed cooked "al dente" and the garlic sauce was to die for. Their wine list consisted of very good choices from mostly California and a few foreign options. I had a chardonnay that was very good. My only feedback would be to add a couple VA wines, as local as reasonably possibly. I say this because I love supporting local businesses as much as I can and to see locals helping each other is a great thing. I will wrap this up by saying thank you to Faang Thai for providing me a wonderful meal with good ambiance. Along with that my server, Garrett (Bartender/waiter), made me feel part of the family and not only saw to my every request, but went the extra mile to ensure I had the best experience possible. This is because of the manager or bartender named rick who always seems drunk or on drugs of some kind. Had not purchased from here in a while, but was in the mood for Thai food last night. Arrived around 815pm, and went in to place a to-go order. After I placed my order, was told the wait time was 35 minutes. There were 4 tables occupied, and all but one had their food. Fortunately it didn't take that long, maybe 12 min, so was pleasantly surprised. The food quality however was a different story. Very disappointed in the Pad Thai. Was extremely bland, could not taste any tamarind in the sauce. The shrimp had no seasoning whatsoever. The Bangkok Sunset was just OK, but the Mango was not ripe, so was a very sour component in the dish. The Spring Rolls recipe appears to have changed, they did not have the same taste.
