Being right down the street from my pop's business, seems like this place has always been in my life. Everybody here has an opinion about it, from "wouldn't touch that grease pit" to "nice and convenient" on up to "love it!" I guess my take is in the fair to midland group; good enough when I don't feel like exploring. I know what's there and what I like there so it's always going to be an easy call when I'm not up for being exotic with my choices. Portions are generous and rarely leave you for wanting. If anything you're left for giving. One meal is enough for you and some bits for the guy who forgot his lunch money. Here's the quickshot: Chicken Strips Plate! Rules. Ginormous. Always tender with a thick delicious crispy batter. I order this more than anything at the place. Comes with salad, soft grilled dinner roll (simple and yummy), fries, rings and a drink. $7 and change Fries. If you take it to go, you'll notice they take up half the to go bag. They are far from stingy with the fries. They use some seasoned salt on there that makes them pretty addicting. Best when they're done crispy. Have had days when half the bag is soggy and sad face. On a good day, they're a stoner's delight. Breakfast burritos and chorizo burritos: They do the the trick when you're on the go. It's something I grab when I want something filling early that is gonna carry me through the day. Their salsa is pretty damn good. I keep meaning to ask if they make it in house because I'd like to get some of that for home. Kabobs. A healthier alternative to my usual chicken strips. Not a bad one. It's meat on a stick. Top it with some Tap. Gets the job done. Rice and salad. The pita bread, grilled with a brush of olive oil, is super addicting. Just try and not finish it before the rest of your plate! California Chicken Sandwich: All that avocado. This thing weighs in at about a ton. You can't pick it up. You just have to put your face in it and eat away at it. Fortunately it is tasty. Fried zucchini: They're long cut, deep fried and devilishly salty. Comes in a tray the size of a tug boat. Sometimes I get the side portion as a sub in my meal, or I just have them on their own. One order is a lunch in itself! Burger combo. At under $5, a decent chargrilled burger option. I'm not really a burger guy, but you could do worse. The price is right. They're a friendly bunch here. Work seriously like.. 5 minutes away so I actually come here quite often. They have a huge menu ranging from burgers and sandwiches to Mexican and salads. Their burgers are the only thing that I can think of that's fairly good. Everything else is... average, I guess that's the best way to put it. They do have a chili cheese fries that's topped with onions and pastrami, which is a little different, but it's common in these type of local neighborhood hamburger joints. Fabulous Burger is one of my new spots. The Colossal Burger is off the chain. It is the best that I have even had, and I have had many through the years. It was very lean and not greasy at all. Came here today 5/22/19, my family & I usually come here every other weekend for their Greek grilled chicken salad , it's bomb with their ranch and fries. Also order a chicken tenders combo for my kids which comes with tenders, onion rings, fries, a side salad and a drink. Waited about 20 mins at the window to get the salad, fries, and the tender meal. We get the bag, the fries are missing. They only gave us two ranch. Which we had a salad, chicken fingers and fries which also came with another side salad. We drive off. Park to eat, and realize they never gave us the drink for the chicken tenders combo. Also the jalapeños asados were not fully cooked all the way they were still a bit hard, and had no seasoning like they usually do. Pretty much your typical hamburger type place but this is close to work and I probably have eaten here a hundred times or better... For the most part the menu is fairly diverse, the food is not spectacular on average but it feeds me during the day when I go. Three mentionables that bumped Fabulous to a 4 review for me are; 1. A really 'bad for you' item that the people I know order by using the term "The Gut Bomb". Chili Cheese Fries with Pastrami and onions. Taste is tremendous... This would have to kill you if you ate it on a regular basis. 2. A fairly decent Chef Salad and given the area and the lack of non fast food places to eat it is a pretty nice change of pace (at least for me). 3. The owner. El Fabuloso was our nickname for this joint. In addition to burgers, they also offer chicken, steak, pork chops, salads, pastrami, mexican food, etc. The burgers here are killer. Comfort food = happiness lol. Don't know why but we love coming here for breakfast during lunch lol. It's right down the street from our office so we stop by monthly for pancakes and veggie burgers (weird combo but it works for us, sweet and savory is the best!) and always enjoy ourselves. I been going here for years now. A faithful customer me and my coworker's. Until today. I went in for a double bacon cheese burger combo and the total was $10.92. When I got home from a long day at work I checked my bank statement to see that they charged me again in the amount of over $19. So they charged me twice. That combo wasnt worth $30. The cheese burger is good with nice dressing like sauce to add to the overall flavor. Somehow I can actually taste the burger and it has a nice beef aroma and taste to it, very nice. The beef taco is flavorful with plenty of lean meat and it's huge. Their fries are moist and on the soggy side which is just how I like them (vs. dry and stiff). One minor gripe is that I detected mildew like taste in the soda (This can be from unkempt soda dispenser nozzle where mildew can accumulate). I was heading to get my auto glass replaced and this was along the way, it was early in the morning and breakfast sounded good. A breakfast burrito and coffee was ordered. They put the sugar and cream in my coffee and my burrito was excellent. What made it so good was their salsa. Had the just right amount of kick to it. For those of you who don't get bfast burritos, this one had more of an omelet style egg, with bits of bacon and sausage, salsa in the middle, with hash browns and a nice amount of shredded chedder. Everything tasted perfect together. If this place was a little closer to me, i'd go there every weekend for bfast. But next time I am in the area I will get this again. Anyways, fabulous is a chain in the south bay area, and will def stop by this one more often. I finally got to try this place. Here are the items I tried today: French Toast w/ 3 eggs & bacon Steak & Egg Burrito Side Toast Side Hashbrown French Toast was okay (not bad or GREAT) It was just good enough for a French Toast fanatic like myself. Steak & Egg Burrito was not good. I usually prefer scrambled eggs or moist eggs when eating breakfast burrito but the egg was pretty dry. The steak was so well-cooked the color of the meat made me wonder if this is some couple months old steak for a sec. After two bites, couldn't take more. I wished the steak meat was more soft and tenderly-cooked so it's juicy. Hashbrown comes with some shallots which I thought was pretty cool. But the way they have cut/sliced the potato was just too thick to be a legitimate hashbrown. It was very dry as well. Eggs, I ordered them sunny side up and they looked like they were cooked for about 5 secs before being put into the togo box. I felt like I was eating/drinking raw egg. Just on a side note in terms of payment, they charge you a $1 when using debit/credit card and you HAVE to get cash back as they do not have a legitimate debit/credit card transaction machine/system. I know it's a $1, but just as an FYI to those that never been there yet. It would have been nicer if the worker told me about that charge instead of me finding that out on the receipt on my way back home. Anyways, my conclusion is I will not be coming here for breakfast burritos in the future. I read one of the reviews saying this place has the best breakfast burritos which lead me here today. I am really sorry to say I would rather go to Louis in Carson then come back here again. Went here to get something quick. The cashier was very kind, so ordering was very easy. The hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, and toast arrived at my table quickly and looked awesome. The hashbrowns aren't the regular thin-strips-of-potatoes kind; they're more... like mashed potatoes, I suppose, but not mushy. They had a solid texture that was strange at first, but I was hooked with one bite. The whites of my over-easy eggs were still a bit runny, but still good, and the bacon was fantastic (I would happily order a plate full of bacon next time).
