I ordered the full sizes of the chicken bacon Parmesan as well as a custom one with vegan meat, and the portions were smaller than expected for the price. They were tasty and the fries were super crispy but note that the vegan meat doesn't keep well for leftovers. You order and pay at the counter, then can take a seat or take your order to-go. The guy helping us was super friendly and offered a sample of a sauce to try. There's metered street parking directly in front and they do accept credit cards. Flavors were good and maybe I hyped myself up too much. I think we stopped by on a Friday night. Mr Fries Man is located in a quiet plaza. It seemed like is was one of the only shop open when visiting. It also seemed like it was more of a pickup establishment rather than a sit down. I've been a regular customer here for months, ordering the same thing at least once a month: crab and chicken fries with extra mango habanero and extra honey garlic sauce. Every single time, the order has been perfect. Every. Single. Time. Tonight was different, and not in a good way. I came in specifically requesting extra sauce--I emphasized this at least 5-6 times to make sure they understood. This isn't something new; I always ask for extra sauce, and the staff has always delivered. But tonight, despite my repeated requests, my $33 order arrived with NO sauce at all. Zero. Not even the regular amount, let alone the extra portions I paid for and specifically requested multiple times. To make matters worse, the portions were noticeably smaller than usual, and the food itself tasted completely different--honestly, it was borderline inedible. The fries were bland and flavorless, tasting exactly like what they were: unsauced fries. It's like they didn't put a single drop of sauce on them despite my multiple requests. I couldn't even finish the meal. For $33, I expect consistency, especially when I've been a loyal customer who orders the same thing regularly without issue. I had been looking forward to this meal all day--it was supposed to be part of a special evening watching the season finale of my favorite show. Instead, my entire night was ruined by careless service and a complete disregard for customer requests. What's most frustrating is that this restaurant has always gotten it right before. I don't know what changed tonight, but the drop in quality and attention to detail is unacceptable. When a customer repeats their request 5-6 times, there's no excuse for completely ignoring it. First impression (CUSTOMER SERVICE) I walked in, there was a young lady at the counter she was chewing gum and didn't acknowledge I walked in. I'm standing there and she looked as if she was preparing an order so I didn't say anything at first. This is my first time here and that action right there had me ready to leave. If its one thing I can't stand is bad customer service. I don't know if she is a kid or not but whatever her age, she needs to be trained AND she had on shorts, her arm was inside her shirt, she put it back through when she took my order. The only reason I continued with ordering was because the establishment came highly recommended. (THE ESTABLISHMENT) It was EXTREMELY cold inside the lobby and the door was open, the reason I'm guessing the young lady had her arm inside her shirt. Not a lot of seating to dine inside, I went back to my car and waited. I wasn't told if I would get a text when my food was ready because I put a phone number in, I was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. It appeared clean, what I didn't notice was an aroma of food being prepared. Interesting... (THE FOOD) I ordered the build your own with steak and shrimp with lemon garlic sauce. THE STEAK TOUGH, they should use carne asada meat or learn how to cook steak because it shouldn't go in a warmer for hours on end, it was tough and too chewy, can't say if it was seasoned, the sauce was overpowering. THE SAUCE lemon garlic was ok. THE FRIES greasy, as if they were not strained when taken out the oil and it absorbed grease from the steak. THE SHRIMP was cooked well. The plate looks empty...it was picked through. The only reason I gave it a 2 ** rating is because it is black owned. If you are ever in Gardena and wanna try, good luck. Let me start off by saying this place has appalling customer service. It was Mother's Day and I was craving Mr Fries Man fries with the honey garlic sauce. Don't judge me. It's my day. While I stay a couple of blocks away, I don't care for the Inglewood location because they always screw up my order and don't sauce my stuff right so I elect to make the drive to Gardena instead. That is until yesterday. I sat in my car and waited for them to open and I walked in and asked the male cashier if they had any combos with chicken and fries. It's a simple enough question I thought. WRONG! I was told the chicken special is on Mondays. I asked what about a tender and fry combo since there's a sign on the window about it though NOT on the menu board. He said yes, and asked if I wanted 3 or 5 tenders and what flavor. I tell him 3 tenders with crack seasoning and then on the fries add the honey garlic and crack seasoning. He punches something in on the register and then says what do you want on the fries I say ummmmm I still want the crack seasoning and the honey garlic. He asked what dip I wanted I say ranch. I'm thinking it's a pretty standard order I wait in my car........10 minutes later I walk inside and the employee is helping another customer. He doesn't acknowledge me and goes into the back. I thought to get my food but he doesn't come back out. I stand at the register another 5 minutes and go back outside. 5 minutes later he emerges outside with a sealed bag. I hit the road, open the bag, and it's not what I ordered. The chicken is sauced with something and the fries are dry with crack seasoning sprinkled on them. I immediately call the store and say hey my order is wrong and my toppings were reversed plus I got nuggets and not tenders. The person on the phone argues with me that I ordered the wrong thing because he never gets it wrong, and even if he did; there are no refunds. He told me he even gave me an extra tender, like I should be grateful?!?! The mutha fu%#%*%# nerve!! I said I'm not asking for a refund on my order. I want what I ordered. Ultimately, he said there is no manager there and he hung up on me. Now I know why he bagged up my order and brought it outside. You're stuck with whatever they give you and they hide behind the "no refunds" signage on the counter. Why not allow a customer to come inside and look into the container to see what they're getting? I recommend no one support this business until they re-train their staff and if you must.......have your phone out so you can record the conversation....let them know, of course, because this is a 2 consent state......and also open the box and look inside in case they try to bait and switch you with someone else's stuff. Even if they try to be slick and come outside to hand it to you; refuse to take it and walk back inside, under the eyes of the CCT and then untie the bag and look inside. Trust me. Taking the extra time to do so will save you $20 of your hard earned money. Don't be duped the way I wasSadly, I won't be back but hopefully, you'll have a better experience.
