I stopped by to get an acrylic/ gel nail set. My nails came out horrible! They were very poorly done. I could have done a better job myself. I have gone to this salon before & I always loved the job they did on my nails. They were great at designs and making accurate detail, but the past two times I have gone, the nails just do not cut it for me. I ended up paying $30 on a very crappy job. I wanted galaxy themed nail art, instead I recieved clumped up blobs of glitter. The paint rubbed off a couple hours after I had my nails painted. The polish wasn't even inside gel like they used to do it, so that it wouldn't rub off. I even told the lady I wanted gel over it & she just kept at what she was doing. One of the nails even chipped off 3 days later. Unbelievable! I am never going back to this salon again. read more

Every time I get my nails done at this place I am never disappointed, they do a great job at giving you exactly what you want. They also have a very good nail design technician who never fails. Mindy is the only one who has done my nails and eyebrows but I recently tried a new girl I'm not sure what her name is (sorry) but my eyebrows came out great! Definitely recommend this place but make an appointment if you don't want to wait, I've waited about an hour. read more

I love going to get my nails & waxing done at this spot I've been going since I was 13. They are always up to date with trends like nail shapes & shades & have large variety of color. Really high ceilings so it's not cramped like other salons. Massage chairs for pedicures. Reasonable prices. Language is always a bit of a barrier at salons but they do their best to communicate & I always have good conversations with them, they remember & care about their customers. Mindy is the bomb! She is great at nails and knows about all kinds of designs! She is a wonderful wonderful nail artist.

I love this nail salon they always do whatever I want. I can tell them any crazy design and they will do it perfectly non-rushed, my mom got her eyebrows tattooed here and I always get them waxed and they do an excellent. The pedicures are the best, not to mention their massage chairs and the great prices. My friend and I came here for the relatively inexpensive mani/pedi. The ladies were nice and took extra care and time to my sure they did a good job. While getting our nails done, we saw a little girl come in to get her hair cut and walked out looking super cute. So why only 3 stars? Well, I'm used to pedicures lasting a few weeks, and this one only lasted one week. Since I'm not in the habit of getting my nails done every week, I wouldn't go back here. Additionally, there are some strong fragrances at the salon and with my sensitive nose, it wasn't the best environment to be in. read more

If it was possible to give 0 stars- I WOULD!! basically, u went in with about 4" of regrowth and was trying to go back to blonde (a"natural " ashy blonde). My natural hair color is not very dark- (maybe a medium ash brown? Something around there), and not only did they work on my hair for 3 hours, but I REFUSED to pay for the service! only the product!!!! End result= ORANGE roots (4" long!) and LIGHT BLUE ends!! DISASTER CITY! At first , after the last returned my roots orange and I freaked out, she tried calling me down and was like " you no worry. I fix now. No worry. " (patting my shoulder) *side note: I've gone to cosmetology school so I am actually trained on how to do hair... I didn't do it myself because I FIGURED it's be much easier to just go somewhere and have them do for me.... Then put in my extensions myself. I was SERIOUSLY wrong.* So she then throws a toner in my hair, all the while trying to convince me that it is lightening up... It wasn't, and u KEPT telling her that it didn't work like that. The ONLY way to get any outrage/brassy tones out is to hit it again with bleach lightener..... Long story short, I wish I now has taken a picture so I could show you all so that you could share my horror/embarrassment!! At least I was able to laugh about it--- I mean what else can you do? They didn't even argue with me about not paying for the service. They KNEW they f***ed up. BIG time. Maybe nails is their thing, and that they do well... But hair is DEFINITELY NOT. I would give them 0 stars but I cant. WORST MISTAKE EVER. This was the worst service Ive ever got and I paid $35 for my acrylic/gel REFILL to chip,break, and look like I did them myself in less than a week. Everyone told me to try them out so I gave it a try because I needed to kill some time. first of all this is the most ugliest and dirtiest salon ever. I asked where the gel colors were they said they didn't have any? Then some lady heard and showed me all the gel polish. Then I had to wait more than 35 Mins to get started. I wanted pink with sparkles but the pink they had was too light. One worker said I can pick a dark pink and put the other pink on top when I told the lady doing my nails she said no I cant do that. She filed the acrylic nails about 20 times. I asked for square shape and I got the most round grandma looking nails ever. I told her my pinky nail broke last night so to be gentle but she didnt listen and filed it like 30 more times. I was sitting there for more than 1 hour before she finally got to the painting step. Oh and she called my nails ugly and laughed when they were obviously more than 20 days old and I was in for a fill of course they're gonna look ugly!! So after filing for like an hour Mindy (i think thats her name) came and filed them more (I could tell she was trying to fix them) so after all the filing she finally painted them a sparkly red which I loved BUT in less than 10 days my GEL POLISH was literly PEELING OFF how does gel even peel! It so hard to take off yet two of my nails full polish peeled off. The picture underneath is my nails I had to paint them with white and it looked ugly because the red was IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE OFF AT HOME. They chipped and peeled in less than 20 days. WILL NEVER GO BACK. Oh and she made me bleed like twice . read more

A friend recommended this place. The first time I visited, I had a painful split nail and had gone to another salon who refused to work on my nails. As soon as the nail technician saw my nail, she called over her supervisor, Mindy. Mindy walked me through my options, gave me her recommendation, and I was out of the salon five minutes later with a fix. Several weeks later I returned to have a pedicure and another look at my nail. Mindy instructed Kim on how to do a touch up on my fingernail, which was great. For the pedi, Kim was super sweet and gentle on my toes, but did not know how to do flowers and took a while to finish a simple pedicure. Four stars is for the friendly service and excellent fix from Mindy. (My nail has grown out and good as new.) 1 star off for what ended up to be long visits. read more

My old hair stylist quit from Regis at Hillsdale mall so figured it was time to see if I could find a closer place, and I figured it doesn't get any closer than right across the street from my apartment at Fabulous Salon. I didn't catch her name but the woman there did an excellent job, one of the best hair cuts I've had in awhile, especially considering the price, only $15! Although, I was way over paying at Regis, paying another $25 to get my hair washed I guess... anyway, now I have a super convenient, cheap, and fast hair cut place to go to that still does great with my hair style. read more

The salon itself is fairly nice but the service is not very good. When I was getting a gel fill the lady using the file drill slipped from my nail onto my skin two times! The nail polish selection is minimal and once the polish is applied it looks transparent. Stopped by for a quick pedicure. I admit my feet was a little rough, but the lady working on my cuticles was so aggressive that I ended up with 3 of my toenails bleeding!!! One of them was bleeding so much that blood kept oozing out even hours after the pedi, and this toe still hurts--two days after the pedi... Definitely a bad pedi experience for me. read more

Anna bleached my roots and helped tone it as well! It did take about 3 hours, ladies, keep in mind, the thicker your hair, the longer it'll take. My hair is thick and stubborn. I love how they do my pedicure. I recently came in for my routine pedicure and to get acrylic nails done. And the result in the acrylics was not good.. I felt like she rushed because she had ppl waiting for her. The Polish color she used was nice but she layered too much and my nail looks puffy. I had to go to another place to get them fixed. They almost had to redue all over again :-( if I come back will probably b only for pedís. Ever since my pregnancy I tent to get ingrown nails.. And they suck.. And the girls here really know how to take care of that, I try coming in at least twice a month, but unfortunately with 2 kids that can be challenging. The last 2times I came to do my eyebrows I was unsatisfied by the way they did them . How there was lil hairs that can be pluck out with the tweezers they didn't do,how one eye brow was thicker than the other one , and how the tip of my eyebrow was not cut and lined correctly . I just moved San Mateo recently from south bay and randmoly I picked up this salon due to its proximity from my new place and oh boy wasn't I pleased ? Stephanie gave me the same hair cut (for 15$) for which I was paying 30$ plus tips. I know 30$ is alot for men's hair but then I like my hair done in good style. Found out that Stephanie just started here and was working in some uptrend salon in San jose area before so no wonder she knew what she was doing. I am going again to her. read more

I was gifted with thick nails, hands and feet. If I wait too long I almost always get ingrowns, which is usually always does since I never have time to go. When I do go they always have done such a good job. It's painful but it's my fault for waiting. They know what their doing. Make sure you get one of the girls with more experience hence my four stars. read more

When I'm unhappy with a service, restaurant, etc., I usually don't say anything and just don't go back but my acrylic fill here today was the worst I've ever had in 30 years!!! I saw their sign while at a neighboring store and since I was overdue for a fill thought I'd give them a try. Only one other customer and two employees quasi napping in the pedi chairs so no wait. No music, dim lighting, some of the polishes I looked at were old and separating, should have been my first clues maybe this wasn't a good idea but I picked a polish and sat down. No conversation, didn't ask what length or shape I wanted, didn't remove the lifting old acrylic at the base or one floppy tip. Didn't push cuticles back so I did, then proceeded to dot the primer on the old acrylic and not my exposed new growth, the only place it's needed. I asked about it and the other working tech who seemed in charge said yes she did use primer so on we went. She applied a very uneven but thin coat on all nails but both thumbs had over run welled up against the cuticle. When it was time to file she shaved too much off some fingers so they are slanted to one side and narrower at the tip than the base. I went in with square nails with the corners rounded. She filed the ends straight across but not straight and different lengths leaving them looking like I just took nail clippers to them. Then she went after the uneven surfaces with the electric drill tearing up skin around the nail and still missing overrun in both thumbs so I have a rim sticking up against the cuticle. She sent me to wash my hands without ever comparing length of one hand to the other, never asked if I liked it, never turned my hands over to drill underneath or reglue the tips growing out. I was so disgusted I didn't bother having her polish. I knew I would have to finish trying to salvage them myself when I got home. Just paid her and told her I think she needs some more practice. I do a better job than she did. Makes me wonder if she even has a license... DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more
