Although my skin is in fairly good condition, I do have some pores that have congestion. Since it was my first time I asked Nancy to let me know what she was doing as she went along. Every step of the process, Nancy explained what she was doing and why. Not only does she take good care of your skin she adds a shoulder, neck and arm massage to really complete the overall experience. I couldn't believe how smooth my skin felt right after my facial but also for days to follow. It was very refreshing, relaxing and my pores were clear. Nancy let me know she provides massage services as well. Despite expressing I'm happy with my massage therapist, she spent the entire appointment prying about him (location, experience, etc) in what seemed like an attempt to convince me she is better. Even when the subject changed, she repeatedly came back to it. 3) She prides herself on including a complimentary neck and upper back massage as a part of the facial (mentioned it to me on the phone and text). However, when I requested more pressure during the massage portion, she became defensive and said, "This is a facial, not a massage" and that I should schedule a massage if that's what I want. I did not feel like my muscles were massaged at all. If you're going to include a massage of your own accord, why be so defensive when the client makes a request regarding pressure? It was uncomfortable. 4) I got two dark spots on my face where Nancy did extractions. This has never happened before. I texted to ask about it and she insinuated it's because I'm Indian and Indian women tend to have hyperpigmentation in general... despite my saying I've never had this issue. I originally wanted to book a one-hour facial, but Jin insisted that the first session had to be 1.5 hours for $120. I felt something was off, but I agreed. At the beginning, I clearly pointed out the areas I wanted to address--some milia near my eyes and a raised bump on my nose. She said, "We'll talk about it later." Then she spent almost an entire hour just massaging my face. During the massage, she even said, "You don't have acne, so just enjoy the massage." But I didn't go there to relax--I came specifically to treat the milia and bumps. I can easily do massage, masking, and basic blackhead removal at home. What I needed was proper extraction and treatment, which she barely did. The actual extraction was very brief--only a small area on my forehead and along my hairline - and then a 10-minute mask. The total session didn't even last the full 1.5 hours, even though I was charged for that.（3:50 -5:10) The extraction was extremely painful, but I endured it. At the very end, she told me that removing the other milia would require an additional $100, and I'd have to come back next time. If that was the case, she should have told me upfront when assessing my skin. The pricing and treatment process felt very unclear and not transparent at all. It honestly gave me the impression that she was trying to split the service just to charge more. Also, she didn't apply sunscreen after the facial until I specifically asked, even though it was very sunny outside. That's a basic step in aftercare, and I expected more professionalism. Two days later, I messaged her to ask how long it would take for the treated area to heal. Her response was simply, "I already told you before," without any helpful or professional advice. I normally don't write reviews unless the experience is really bad, but I feel the need to warn others. This is my honest experience, and I hope it helps others make an informed decision.
