I have had many facials at different spas, but the Hydrafacial with Kimmie was by far the best! She began the process with a thorough consultation to figure out my skin type and to explain everything that would be taking place during the facial. The Hydrafacial was unlike any other skin treatment I have undergone. Typically after an extraction, my skin is extremely red and inflamed. This causes me to not want to go in public for a day or two, but the Hydrafacial actually reduced my redness and made my skin glow! (see my fourth photo for a no makeup picture 24 hours after the facial.) Additionally, Kimmie took the time during every phase of the facial to acclimate my skin to the appropriate level of intensity with the Hydrafacial machine. I would describe this process as removing the "bad" from the skin and replacing it with the "good." Kimmie informed me of the various types of serums we can use during the Hydrafacial as we continue my skincare process, and I look forward to receiving an even more customized facial. The day after the facial, my skin was still glowing and I had only minimal purging in one area where I had been experiencing a really bad breakout. I was actually very grateful for this purge because by the end of the week, the area on my cheek that had stubborn acne for almost the last month finally cleared up. This alone made the price of the facial worth it! I have seen many beauty experts raving about the Hydrafacial, but I wanted to make sure this was not just another overhyped trend. Kim is totally awesome. It is pretty rare to find an esthetician who truly cares and is super excited about what she does. This was my first hydrafacial and I was not at all hesitant but what made me even more excited was her depth of knowledge about hydrafacials. She explained every step and took the time to do a fantastic job on my face. Normally, these appointments are like clockwork and regardless of what is going on with your face they stick to that schedule. The other thing that impressed me was when I asked her for her suggestions about products (i.e. face wash, sunscreen, lotion, toner) she just suggested something I could buy at Walgreens or Target. Normally, they have their own special brand of products they push or they push the stupid expensive stuff like SK-II or Shiseido but no, shes like as long as you wash your face and wear sunscreen you're good. All the things you need for the month I have provided you via the serums during the facial. I'm definitely going to go on a monthly basis as advised to see if this pans out for me and my skin type and lifestyle. My goal is to not have to wear face makeup anymore. I would like to update this review to just say that I took one star off because my friend is not seeing any improvement in her pimples that were extracted. In fact, they have gotten worse.
