I have never had a facial before, and I am grateful that I experienced my first one at Silk Skin Studio. When I described my skin sensitivities, the estheticians at Silk Skin Studio were extremely considerate and explained that the products they used were organic, gentle, and suitable for people with sensitive skin. Upon entering the suite, I already sensed a calm ambience. I was warmly greeted by the estheticians and a light aroma that surrounded the room. She proceeded with the facial, washing my face and using a lot of cooling products. She applied the products and massaged my face in a soothing manner, and I was becoming very relaxed. The things I enjoyed most about the facial treatment were the cleanser at the beginning that had a light acai fragrance and left my skin feeling very clean, and the warm towels that were used throughout the process. I also had an eye massage and red light therapy to reduce inflammation, and it was really fun and my first time having those. I am at the age where I am becoming more interested in facial treatments and spas since they are a suggested bonding activity to do with friends or bridal parties while helping to maintain skin health and mental health. I was a bit apprehensive entering, but speaking with the estheticians helped ease my nervousness and made me less self-conscious about my skin. Also, I felt the results instantly when I left. My skin was a lot more hydrated and smoother than it usually is, and a lot of the acne I have been dealing with the past few weeks was almost undetectable after this facial session. I got the Korean Glass Skin Facial with Carolyn. It's been a while since I last visited Silk Skin Studio, and I was very impressed by the new additions Linh had made. There's now an area where you can test various Eminence products before purchasing. The products used during the Korean Glass Skin Facial smelled very nice, fruity, and not too overpowering. Carolyn used ultrasound infusion and microcurrents, which felt nice and made the serum absorb very quickly into my skin. My favorite part was the hot towel after the moisturizing sheet mask. After the facial, my skin looked flawless! It always looks amazing after a facial, but this truly makes it look like the coveted glass skin. TLDR; I didn't know it was so painful to get your blackheads removed but Linh did a great job and made my experience very delightful. Love love love Linh!!!! One of the treatments Linh offers is a 50 min Teen facial which focused more on dead skin, whiteheads and blackheads which was perfect for me! She first started off with explaining how she does her treatments and products which was very nice since I am totally new to all of this. Instead of doing the same type of treatment on everyone's skin, she said she personalizes it depending on their skin type which is awesome because not everyone has the same type of skin condition!! I am SO glad I found Linh! I moved from San Diego to the south bay over a year ago and had an aesthetician there that I adored. I tried a couple folks in the bay who just didn't seem to have the expertise and services I really wanted, but then I found Linh! My skin issues and hopes: I have acne-prone skin maintained with medication (shoutout PCOS) that tends towards dryness. I'm also in my early 30s and wanting to maintain hydration, exfoliation, and vibrance to help my skin be the best it can be. I'm looking for glow and clarity--the dream, right? And yall, I got it. I do already have a robust skincare routine that looks its best with medication and regular facials so I cannot promise results that are similar, but I do think regular facials from folks using quality products and evidence-based practices is the key when combined with a solid routine! First of all, Linh is really kind. She is really responsive, confirms the appointment and provides specific directions to the office, and is extremely kind and patient. Her office is peaceful and well curated, and I never felt confused or unsure about the service I was receiving. Since it was my first time seeing her, I had booked a consult and a hydroderm facial (the facial I loved with my previous aesthetician). Linh agreed that hydroderm is right for me, asked me some questions about my routine, skin sensitivity, etc and we were on our way! It's clear Linh pays attention to details and is up on current evidence-based treatments (light therapies, electrocurrent etc) AND she uses Eminence Organics skincare which was how I found her (through their spa locator). The facial was super relaxing! I liked how before she did anything she looked at my face beforehand and told me what she was planning to do during the appointment. She also offered to touch up my eyebrows a little bit. I had an extraction done on the t-zone area of my face and it was really nice! I felt like my face, in general, was a lot cleaner.
