Went here for a spa date with my girlfriends. They don't normally operate on Sundays but since there were 5 of us, they told us they were willing to open for the day and accommodate us. The first thing I noticed upon entering was how beautiful the place was! Talk about "aesthetic" haha! The owner, Joan, was there when we arrived and she chatted with us for a little bit, she was so nice and welcoming. All five of us got a head spa with complete facial w/ dermabrasion. It was such a nice experience! Lyn (not entirely sure if this is the right name) did such a good job with my facial/extraction, it didn't hurt as bad as I was expecting it to. Tho one of my friends was saying her aesthetician didn't really do much of an extraction and she still had a few whiteheads left untouched so she wasn't too impressed with the facial. I guess it depends on the aesthetician.. The only thing I was kind of bummed about is that they don't give you blow out after the hair spa (you have to pay extra for it) i'm sure some of us would like to leave the spa looking a little better than we did when we got there especially after how much we have to pay for the service lol they will only roughly dry it for you then leave it as is. So i left with frizzy hair lmao Over all, it was such a relaxing and fun experience. They even give you complimentary snacks and a drink after you step of out the room. On the day of the appointment , we were greeted warmly and escorted to the treatment room. although it's in a shopping center - it felt like a luxury spa inside. Omg. This place is a gem! I'm so glad my friend found this place for us. We were a group of 5 that wanted some relaxation. Our treatment included the headspa with a facial. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR. The place is soooooooo nice and conveniently located in the famous Cerritos plaza where Cha2O used to be hahahaha. I have tried many different skin products that have very little effect on my acne. Usually the product reduces the acne and redness just a little. But when I tell you my once rough, bumpy, acne prone skin is smooth & glowing, IT IS SMOOTH AND GLOWING!! I had my facial done by the amazing Joan herself & she worked her magic on my skin. Not happy with the facial at all. I paid $120 for the MDworx plus which should include a choice of facial bar service and microdermabrasion, led light and oxygen infusion. I went in for a brightening facial for an event at my company and all I received was extraction, microdermabrasion and led for calming down the extractions. I have attached the picture of their menu card- neither did I get oxygen infusion nor facial bar service. In the name of facial bar service all I received was a serum and sunblock right after my led treatment. They used mangosteen facial wash which I'm not ok with and I mentioned it to her during the face wash but she kept massaging with it. I paid $120+tip almost $150. When I insisted on meeting the owner because the services were not fulfilled they told me she was busy with another client, I waited for 10 minutes but I can't be there all day.! Extremely unsatisfied.! When I asked the person who did my facial that why didn't I get the services I paid for she told me The menu card is incorrect.! What an exploitation.! I came here with my savings for a very important event tomorrow and it's a huge amount of money for me which I spent. I would never recommend it. Please cross- check the menu card with the services given to you.! The menu clearly states that I should receive facial bar service and oxygen infusion. I agree that after I called you, you explained me and offered to re-visit for a different experience. But, I ain't in town to come right away as I had mentioned during my visit. Once I'm back, I'll definitely drop by. But, please work on your menu card so that others don't have a problem. Plus I wrote this review after the visit and before you picked up my call. I just received an in room facial here at faceworx. It was my first time ever getting a facial and my experience was great. It seems they are new to this location as everything was brand new. I set my appointment weeks in advance and was brought in promptly upon arrival. They were very friendly and explained what they were doing as they went along. Joan and Karla noticed I had dry skin from lack of moisturizing and use of harsh body soaps on my face. I came in for a facial that my daughter arranged for me. It was my first time and I was very apprehensive about the whole ordeal. I'm a guy and skin and face stuff has never been a priority for me or necessarily in my comfort zone of places to go. I found Joan to be very welcoming and I instantly felt relaxed. She explained what she was going to do and I settled in on the table and relaxed. An hour or so later she finished and I my face felt rejuvenated and fresh. Joan does a great job by being very patient and caring. After passing this place a couple of times and checking out reviews I decided to give it a try. Over the weekend my friend and I dropped in to check out services and prices. It was late morning and not busy at all (no one there except us and the receptionist). The receptionist did let us know that they were expecting a 1pm appointment (less than 30 minutes away) but that she could begin services on one of us and the owner, Joann, was on her way in and could take the other. I decided I'd wait for the owner cause I'm pregnant and wanted to confirm whether or not I could have certain services. When the owner arrived she was very pleasant and took me to the room right away. The place is really beautiful, everything is very clean and nice. Very tastefully done. I did read reviews about champagne, but at no point during our visit were either of us offered water, juice or champagne. I certainly wouldn't have champagne but my friend can! There is no doubt that Joann is talented and again, super pleasant. I just felt like it was all going pretty fast. She got started right away, but we didn't really cover my concerns, we just went with the package I picked. But in the options to pick from there is no breakdown/description of what's going on your face. I wasn't asked about allergies, and the process wasn't broken down. There were a few times I stopped and asked what is that going on my face.... or that I was guessing what would come next. I felt she did a great job in cleaning, applying masks/product.... I just didn't know what it was being applied or done. She did tell me that it was organic which is great cause I'm pregnant but it ended up being pumpkin, I only found out because I asked when she started to apply....I'm not sure that I would have picked a pumpkin mask. She also did great with extracting. Definitely makes sure she gets everything out, which I love but I was there for pigmentation concerns related to pregnancy and hormones. I also have fair skin and scar easily, which I mentioned to her when she began extracting. A short while after I felt uneasy when I felt what seemed to be a needle poking at areas that maybe couldn't be extracted with fingers only. I was super uneasy but remained calm. Next time I will begin my session with "please use fingers only". I currently have super small scabs where I was poked, which I'm not going to touch and just pray they do not leave a mark. I scar easily. I think before using tools one should be asked if it's ok, but that could just be me. I should have stopped her when I felt it but...being my first time I didn't want to be difficult. A few times I could tell the receptionist/aesthetician that was working on my friend in another room had stepped away to say something to Joann. After leaving, my friend did mention how she kept stepping away. I think they could benefit from a designated receptionist, and maybe they have one but that morning they did not. Another thing my friend and I discussed afterward was that our facials didn't include under the chin/neck area. And she also was not kept up to date with what was being put on her face or done throughout the process. Joann rang us up at the end of my visit and because we were new we asked about the 20% off which she was happy to honor. I will be going back because the place is beautiful, Joann is beautiful (she has the most beautiful skin) and she's a lovely person who is undoubtedly talented. My mom took me to have my facial done at this place. First i was hesitant to do it knowing how painful it's going to be since i have a lot of blackheads and whiteheads but when Joan talked to me about true procedure and how she explained it to me and assured me that that's going to be a pleasant treatment, i right away trusted her.
