Absolutely LOVE my experience with Miss Ida! I've been coming to her for a while, and she is always consistent and reasonably priced. Her work is very clean and neat. For the girlies that are considering hard wax or European wax centers, I strongly advise against it. I needed a Brazilian wax and got off work really late, so I decided to go to the European Wax center, and my experience was horrible. Long story short, my hair grew back much more course and I had ingrown hairs/ breakouts as well. The girl at the European wax center got the wax stuck in my hairs because she let it sit for too long and she was struggling to pull the "lip" of the wax. The entire service took about 45 minutes. When I went back for my appointment with Ida, she thought I had went back to shaving, that's how course my hair was. They ripped it from the surface instead of the root. Ida is so careful and quick my appointment is usually less than 10 minutes. I will never go anywhere else. I'm still recovering from bumps and discoloration from my experience at the other wax center, but Ida recommended neosporin and Thayers witch-hazel, so I'll be trying that very soon. Lobo Beauty Salon is my go-to salon for when I'm coming home from work. I'm able to take the 91E, exit Bellflower, and head on over to the wonders that Ms. Ida performs. I first went here for a waxing, and actually, all of my visits have been just that. I've read the previous yelp* reviews from when Lobo was in Artesia, and I was impressed with what y'all had to say. I am able to call when I'm in the parking lot at work, ask if Ms. Ida is available for a wax, and let them know I'll be there within the hour. I've never been told "sorry, we're too busy right now" or "sorry, you'll have to come in at a later time". I've been welcomed at whichever time I've indicated and I've never had to wait for my service. I'm in and out within minutes, and then I'm on my way home. I always get a bit of a sour face from Ms. Ida's partner (don't know her name, never bothered to ask) when I pay with plastic. I even went so far as to apologize for paying with my card during my last visit because I never really carry cash. She told me very matter-of-factly "next time being cash better" during a previous visit. That's my only not-good deal about this place. I'm keeping the 5-stars, though! Lobo Beauty Salon is located in a small shopping center off of Bellflower Blvd. When driving down Bellflower, sometimes I think I'll drive into the wrong shopping center, because there's two centers right next to each other. Just know that Lobo is located in the smaller of the two centers. No parking problems, place is kept on the dark side (just enough lighting is used), but the place is well kept and clean. I've yet to see anyone get their hair done here. Lots of eyebrows get done here. My most recent visit included that. Ms. Ida was quick with her clean up, and that's all she did. I don't have much eyebrows to begin with, so I was very happy to see I still had my brows. She didn't try to sell me any shaping or arch work or anything. I love Ida for the Brazilian wax - amaxing. I can honestly say this is the closest to a pain-free Brazilian you'll find (don't be silly, of course it still hurts! Just not as much.) Lobo is best known for Ida's waxing, not so much for the threading done by her understudies so I suggest ignoring negative reviews about this place. It will be THE biggest beauty mistake if you overlook this establishment. I've had Brazilian waxes at two day spas-spending about $100.00 at both places-and Ida is a million times better. I'd rather spend $100 on services here than on one service hardly accomplished well at a fancy day spa. I went to Ida because a friend recommended her 10 months ago. She has become an extended family member! She hooked me up for my wedding and I have gone to Lobo every month since then. My husband has never had a complaint :) She really took care of me during my pregnancy! Ida is super professional, only takes 15 minutes for full Brazilians (and I get BUSHY), she gives discounts to cash customers and her new location, I believe, will also include a nail salon! Ida is such an amazing person! She is honest and will not rip you off. Anyway, I will start with the one and only thing that I DISLIKE from this place: Ida is alwayssss busy. I guess this is a good sign because it shows she's just THAT good. So if you need her services, I would recommend calling in advance and setting up an appointment when you can. Unfortunately I didn't get to follow my own advice and called today hoping there was an opening -- there wasn't. However, after explaining how this was the only time I could come, Ida allowed me to come at 7:30pm which is around the time when she normally closes (how NICE!) The salon itself is very small and simple but it does its job. It's fairly clean and she plays soothing music during your waxing/threading. I don't just trust anyone with my eyebrows and especially my bikini wax. Ida is the only person I go to. She's gentle and quick. Of course there's some pain but I mean if you don't experience ANY pain during a bikini wax, you're either really drugged up or dreaming. She makes an uncomfortable situation as bearable as possible. I feel so nice and clean after going to Lobo. As if this wasn't enough, Ida even showed me how to thread today! She's just that nice. So go to her because she's awesome!! read more

Lobo Beauty is a place you come to, to get waxed, threaded, and feel like your favorite auntie is taking care of you. I usually get a Brazillian wax, arm pit wax, and eyebrows threaded. But Ida (her first name, Lobo is her last name) will suggest to me if I should get it done or hold off on certain service because she cares about her customers (feels like family to me) rather than anything else. I'm so happy ! I made an appointment and loved everything about it. It Was my first time and I didn't know what to expect. She keeps it simple and direct .. sorta scary when it's your first time but I felt so good and ready. She makes you feel welcomed. For me I have really thick hair and it was my first time. She knows how to do the work right. The wax is hot and soft and she adds the strip. For me I thought I needed the hard was but she knows how to work it. She does little sections and fast. With that said she makes the experience as comfortable as you can get. There's some pain in the beginning but she makes it less and less after the fourth strip..Ida is just so sweet and definitely knows what she is doing. She's amazing. DEFINITELY GOING BACK! $45 facial. Last minute appointments. I decided to go spur of the moment and booked an appointment over the phone. However, I was done running errands early and lived closer to Artesia than I thought, so I called them back and moved my appointment up and hour. They took me is as soon as I got there, even though my new appointment wasn't for another 15 minutes. Very sweet ladies working there. Made me feel so comfortable. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I like the more frou-frou spa look and it was not the best facial I have ever had, but it was the most relaxed I have ever felt after any spa treatment in my life! Even my back felt better for some reason?! So relaxing that I am considering going back for the second Brazilian of my life. The first time was in Chicago and SO painful I vowed never to do that again!
