Joseph jewelry was one out of only three places in the area that I could find that offered cutting services. You can book appointments online with them within a day. At first I talked with Tony from the Seattle location and he helped inform me Bellevue is where Danny, the one in charge of the cutting usually works. I came in without an appointment and Christine offered to help me right away. The ambience in the store is very clean, comfortable, and has good lighting. Christine took a look at my stone in great detail, helped walk me through the process of what the cutting would look like. She also got me set up with an account that they will message me on with updates. I will say with the online booking and different actions allowed through their site/my account was so refreshing. A lot of jewelry places that I contacted or reviewed initially through my research were pretty dated. They would have you submit a filled out contact form, have to leave an email hoping for a response (and a few never did respond), or call them and hope they answer. This place is definitely the opposite. Having everything so accessible and allowing customers to self-serve via their portal and website is so nice and allowed me as the customer to feel like I can take some charge of the process and what I need. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to visit for any jewelry needs! The customer service is very personable and great, they're one of the few places that I could find to cut my gemstone, and the online accessibility is so convenient. When I needed my wedding ring to have a new head & prongs i promptly went back to Joseph as I trusted their work. My original diamond was inherited and over 100 years old, I had splintered the diamond and they gave me a few options. They told me they could rehead it but it may cause the diamond to crack or break, I could replace it, or just wait to think about it. I appreciated the honesty and them taking the time to let me make a hard decision after wearing a sentimental stone for 27 years. I decided to remove my old stone and purchase a new diamond. Christine was phenomenal in assisting us, going through quality and cost and not rushing us. You have a portal you can log into to see how your item is progressing and you can message the store. I messaged them about the sizing and they responded within an hour and was able to make an adjustment. I also had a family member pass away and asked if it would be done a few days early. Christine at no charge put a rush on it and it was ready for me to pick up before I left town. I won't go anywhere else, they have my business from here on out.

When I walked in he was talking with a customer that had a few clocks; either selling them or repairing them. The owner stopped what he was doing and changed my watch battery. So, I may have overpaid, but this was the easiest thing ever. No wait and no dropping it off and returning another day. Super fast service. Sure, I could have figured it out with YouTube and a cheap battery, but it's done and I don't have to fuss with it.

He made the experience pleasant, did not pressure me at all, and gave me good value for the few items I decided to sell. Also, Baraka Gems uses a nifty little machine to determine gold content, not a scratch test, so my pieces weren't damaged. I had previously visited another company, which did use scratch tests, without warning me in advance. Upsetting! I highly recommend Baraka Gems, and am very glad I found them!

It is a precious…read morefamily heirloom and based on advertising I have seen for Fircrest Jewelers stating that it is a locally owned business that one could trust with their family heirlooms, I felt comfortable. The shank broke on 5/11/2026, and I took it back on 5/12/2026. The lady who waited on me made a loud production about their one-year warranty and how the damage to my ring was outside of the year. It was 3 weeks outside of the warranty. It was unprofessional behavior and there were other people in the business who could hear her admonish me. She said she would speak to the owner and get back to me. I received a text message on 5/13/2026, stating that I could pay $40 for the repair. I picked up my ring and took it to another jewelry store who looked the ring over to give me an estimate. Attached is the picture I took when they explained that the work that had been done was faulty. There are bubbles in the shank and you can see the lines where the metal was added to upsize the ring. So much for over 30 years' experience in the business. I would expect this type of customer experience with a corporate owned business where profit is the goal over everything else, not from a "locally owned business that advertises that you can trust your precious family heirlooms with them." Update/Response: The ring was not bent nor had it been sized before. I hardly wear this ring, and I never wear it for work, around the house or in the garden. I received this from a grandparent, and it was a size 4 or 5. Fircrest is the only jeweler that I have had size this ring, and that was in April of last year. It broke at the seam of the metal that was used to upsize the ring to a size 8.5. The jeweler that looked over the ring was not impressed with the work and there was no discussion about the ring being bent or sized multiple times.
