I'm newly engaged with a ring from L T Denny's! The store is exceptional, from customer service to ring service such as diamond setting, it was an all-around wonderful experience. We ended up getting a 1.2ct Danhov cathedral solitaire in platinum. Thank you to the lovely Leslie Denny! The store itself is located next to the Seahawks stadium, and it also a block from King Street Station. It's tucked away in a historic building, with a very unassuming store front. The displays are modern, and L T Denny offers a variety of quality jewelry brands such as Tacori and Danhov. I initially found L T Denny as they are an authorized dealer for Danhov. From our first visit to the store, Leslie was supportive, non-judgmental, and took the time to help further our diamond education. Leslie had some insightful suggestions for custom ordering the setting, taking into consideration future diamond and ring maintenance. After we took a detour to check out a stone from an online vendor, Leslie was absolutely supportive in allowing us to do side-by-side comparisons with 3rd party potential stones with her own offerings. A couple weeks ago I lost a beloved earring on my way from the waterfront to the light rail station at Westlake after a night out. Miraculously, I found it the next morning in a driveway on Bell between Western and 1st. The only bummer -it had been very nicely smooshed by a car. I used reviews on Yelp to find a jeweler who did repairs which is how I found LT Denny. I've walked by them a zillion times on my way from work to games, coffee, work events but had never stopped in. Mostly because they looked way too fancy for the likes of me. But, when I called to see what they might be able to do, the helpful woman on the phone was so nice that I was encouraged go in. After calling for a last minute appointment (they have a small number of employees so recommend appointments for better service) I stopped in. They usually close at 5 but today were closing earlier to prepare for the Make A Wish Benefit that the company was supporting. Of course, I'm usually late and showed up at 4:30pm. I also showed up in dirty, scrubby clothes grubbied up from a day's worth of climbing and moving trees. I looked like such a rag-a-muffin and expected to get sub-par service since my appearance screamed "i have no money to spend in your store". I couldnt have been more wrong. The two women who greeted me and listened to my story were so incredibly kind and attentive. Despite my meager "jewels" - silver and turquoise earrings that probably werent worth a twelfth of what their tiniest ring cost - they showed general concern that these earrings that meant so much to me had been damaged. One gal promptly took them up to their master jeweler Michael to have him take a look. While Michael worked his magic, the three other women in the store busily got ready for their benefit - never once making me feel like i was in the way or taking up too much of their time. Again, this surprised me - they have absolutely GORGEOUS jewelry of very highest caliber and of the loveliest craftsmanship. And, I am no fancy-pants. After 20 minutes or so, Michael emerged from his work area upstairs and exclaimed, "Well, I tried but they're not perfect." Oh Michael, you are so wrong! The damaged earring looks nearly exactly the same as the undamaged earring. He did an absolutely incredible job repairing it. Silver is soft and I really didnt expect he'd be able to do much. Only the tiniest scratch is visible. Amazing. I realize its silly to care about things like this, but my parents gave me these earrings and they mean a lot to me. But that Michael and his team treated me with so much respect and kindness is almost more meaningful to me than the actual repair itself. If I ever have the opportunity to buy myself or someone i love beautiful jewelry, i will certainly go to LT Denny first. And, I would highly, highly recommend them to my friends and family - and so to you too. Michael - you and your team are awesome!! read more

I am all about supporting family owned shops and I decided to stop by after reading fellow yelper, Jonathan B's post. I've gone to many Seahawks games but have never even noticed this shop before. It is a secure building and once you go inside you will be pleasantly surprised. At a first glance it doesn't look like they have many choices of engagement rings available, but wait till you talk to them. After they discuss with you what style you like, they will bring out a huge selection for you. I was actually quite surprised that they had a ring that was quite similar to a ring I love but is way over our budget :) They are very attentive, knowledgeable and they make you feel comfortable, unlike many snooty places. I had a wonderful experience at LT Denny purchasing an engagement ring for my now wife. I shopped around online a bit to find a good jeweler because I was adamant to not go to a cheesy jeweler with pushy sales staff. I narrowed my search two LT Denny and another jeweler (that we used for our wedding bands). I went in January 2014 to start looking at settings (at that point I knew I wanted to get a princess cut diamond) and Reed and Leslie were very helpful in narrowing down my choices and getting sample settings shipped to them from Tacori that I liked from the Tacori website (they have a wide selection on hand, but not all of them). I gave them my price point and diamond requirements, which I knew from research were reasonable and they totally delivered on a beautiful rock and a great job with setting the stone. Leslie went on a trip soon after I picked the setting so look at diamonds and bought a diamond with my specifications in mind that totally fit the bill. My ring was done and ready to pick up within two weeks! They even let me ship it to Texas (where I'm from). To top it off, they threw in a free chain so that my wife can wear it around her neck while she's wearing gloves at work (where she's a nurse). My wife was very happy with the final product and even now marvels at how beautiful it is. Tacori and LT Denny both did an amazing job - both stand by their work for the life of the ring. They're always very nice when we stop by to have it cleaned and when I needed it re-sized (because I did a terrible job of estimating my wife's ring size) it was taken care of within a couple of days. There was only one small issue that the stone seemed slightly loose in the setting soon after my wife had started wearing it, but they just made a small adjustment and over a year later we've had no issues with it. One other thing I want to note is that the sales staff there wasn't pushy, which I appreciate. They also treated me with the respect I feel I'm warranted - I had gone to a different jeweler in Houston and felt that they were pretty disinterested and didn't respond to my emails. A few months ago I began searching for a unique, custom wedding band for myself when I came across a designer who referred me to Manya @ LT Denny, but before I called I checked a few websites for reviews and all came up sterling. After meeting with Manya for the first time, I knew this was the jeweler I was looking for - a very comforting and personal experience. A sample ring was brought in and I was very disappointed as it didn't reflect what the designer had portrayed. Manya conveyed this sentiment to the designer who agreed that the sample was not suitable, but assured me my ring would be. It was at this time that Manya introduced me to Leslie and filled her in on my story. Leslie assured me that I would be completely happy or she would make it right - I won't divulge the details, but it was extraordinarily fair and I can tell you that you will almost never find an owner willing to go out on a limb for a customer as Leslie did in this case. I decided right then my business would stay with LT Denny. So I ordered the ring....and was very disappointed when it arrived, as the designer just couldn't seem to produce what I was looking for and what I felt they had portrayed. But Manya didn't give up and kept at them, and we continued to work on how to resolve the problems until finally it came out the way I had hoped for. After experiencing "used car lot" sales techniques at some of the larger chain stores in the Greater Seattle area, I made an appointment with Leslie Denny by recommendation from my mom and stepdad (who purchased my mom's engagement ring from Leslie 12 or so years ago). I know you're jealous of my amazing rings. But they were hard-earned, so don't be. Three years ago, on our honeymoon, a mere FOUR days after donning our wedding rings for the first time, they were stolen. New to adorning our fingers, we thought the jewelry would be safer in our bag on an abandoned beach than on our fingers in the water. Well, we were wrong. That stone! That glorious stone! And the setting! It was from a jeweler in the Virgin Islands, unique to their shop, and nowhere on our travel itinerary for years to come. So we turned to our insurance company. After all, we had the lab reports, a separate rider, it should all be easy, right? It wasn't. Four months of haggling with the insurance HQ and dealing with their contracted crappy mall jewelers, and we gave up on getting an exact replacement. So I took the equivalent stone on a nowhere-near-equivalent crappy setting and a too-small/too-thick wedding band and moved to Seattle. Flash forward two years and we find LT Denny. Jamie read me from the get-go. Something interesting, but not too trendy or flashy. Raised setting, unique prongs, something to show off the glorious stone. Oh, and a nice little band with a hint of sparkle to go with it. They melted down the old wedding band and re-cast it with small stones, and gave us a refund for the extra metal. My engagement ring setting is stunning and I still gaze at it from time to time (over a year later!) I won't say it was worth the drama, but I'm glad things worked out how they did. I couldn't be happier. I had put a ring on layaway at a store in CA, and was not having a good experience with them. (Not processing payments on time, not answering the phone, etc.) I wanted to pay off the balance and get the ring before Valentine's Day, but I couldn't reach these people and I realized that even if I did get them on the phone, they weren't going to have the ring to me in time. So I started looking for someone local, and found LT Denny. I had already given up on having the ring by V-Day, but I saw that they did custom work and thought maybe they could make me something similar to the one at the other store. Instead, Leslie spent the next two days sending me photos of different settings they had in stock until I found one I liked,then had the stone set and the ring sized on Thursday afternoon, overnighted it to me (at no charge), and I had it Friday afternoon, a day before the holiday. The ring I bought cost a little more than the one I had ordered from CA, but the quality is so much higher. I could see the difference immediately -- it really is beautiful, and it appraised at about 30% higher than what I paid. I expected to pay top dollar because everything was so last minute, but that didn't happen. I can't say enough good things about this business, and I will probably never buy jewelry from anyone else. I was referred to LT Denny by a neighbor that had recently purchased a wedding band and gushed about the accommodating service. Since I'm particular with my jewelry, I went to them first to see if they could set my engagement stone into a new custom setting. I had previously ensured my setting could accommodate my stone since it's of a larger size, and all of the dimensions were perfect. I called ahead to talk about what I wanted, and she suggested I come drop off my ring and setting for the setter to look at. Upon entering LT Denny, I was greeted by a nice gentleman and asked if I'd like my ring cleaned, which I thought was a nice gesture (I'm sure it was quite dirty). From there a sales woman louped my stone, current setting, and new setting. Right away I was told that due to the fact that I did not have my paperwork for my diamond (it's in a safe deposit box back in California), it would be too much of a liability for them to work on my ring, and furthermore they're not even sure the diamond could be set into my new setting. I mentioned the setting was specifically created with the exact dimensions of the stone, but the saleswoman still seemed unsure. A second saleswoman came out and also louped my stone, there was quiet conversation questioning the thickness of the girdle, and then she agreed they probably could not do anything, as it could not be set on site, and would have to be sent out, and even then they're not sure it would be able to be set. I mentioned that I had previously called Robbin's Brothers in belltown (they have an onsite setter), but they were a bit pricey so I was shopping around, and they said I should just take it to Robbin's Brothers because the price they're quoting me was fair. Unfortunately I was deterred at this point, and we didn't even get to the point of the setter looking at my stone or setting. I just felt like they were brushing me off and/or were not used to working with custom settings and larger stones. The whole experience made me feel insecure and disappointed. I am sooo sad that I don't feel I can give LT Denny 5 stars due to my experience. I went there with all intents and purposes to be another person to write a pristine review, but my experience there was just "meh". After reading all of their sterling 5 star reviews on here, getting great recommendations from friends and seeing that they were the only Tacori dealer in Seattle, I had great expectations, but for some reason or another it fell short. I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt since my visit was during the aftermath of the massive, unexpectedly stubborn snow fall that happened before Thanksgiving, so maybe they were all feeling out of it, thought it would be a good day to let the newbie handle the appointments, maybe they were busy playing catch up and weren't expecting customers to trek through the weather & driving conditions to get there...? All I know is that I left a message at 10 AM Tuesday (they are closed Sundays & Mondays) asking for an appointment for the next day. I called again Wednesday around 1 pm to see if they had gotten my message and if they were open and to my surprise they were! I was a little confused why they hadn't returned my call for an appointment, since I have read other reviews about how dedicated they are to customer service, how they stay late with clients even after they are closed, and how they are good about checking messages even after hours. If I hadn't read these things, I would have just expected it to be normal that they weren't jumping for my business. Then again, since it was the one day they were going to be open that week (Tuesday: snow day, Thursday & Friday: Thanksgiving holiday) maybe they were just really busy catching up from being closed and hadn't gotten to their messages yet. I'm rambling with excuses, sorry.... At any rate, I get an appointment and am very anxious to see and experience what everyone is raving about. We show up, the small show room is beautiful, trendy, very up-to-date technologically & we were greeted by a very cheerful, friendly young woman who welcomed us. However, she was not the owner or the other experts that we've been reading about on here. We spent about an hour looking through their 99% white gold/platinum ring selections, the majority of which having closer to a 2-carat center stone, which potentially alters what most of them would look like in the yellow-gold, around 1-carat diamond ring that we are personally looking for...I fully understand that white gold/platinum is what a lot of people are looking for & that you can order rings in yellow-gold once you decide, but it would have been nice to not have to stretch your imagination to what the ring you will be wearing for the rest of your life would look like. Anyway, there definitely was no pressure, rush, we had the whole room to ourselves, etc., but there also wasn't that expertise that I was hoping for and read about on here. We didn't get any education on diamonds, only looked at settings and I didn't feel guided or encouraged, really. Almost too much freedom with no detail expanding or relationship building. We learned nothing about the company & she asked nothing about us. We felt unimportant. At one point, she took a ring I had in my narrowed down line and put it on her own ring finger. I don't know what kind of tactic that was, but it made me feel weird seeing my potential ring on her hand and not mine, kinda like she was trying to decide if she liked it for her! I didn't really understand that. After looking through the rings, finding ones I "like", none that I "absolutely fell in love with", my boyfriend asked her a question about their warranty programs out of curiosity since they are a small business. With every other store offering in-store warranty programs, some for free because they are larger, and most everyone saying they would take care of maintenance for free just as long as they see the ring 2-3 times a year, we were put off that they deal with an outside source for their insurance/warranty program and that maintenance results in only "little to no cost to you", not that "its all taken care of" like we've been hearing. I don't know about you, but I want my ring to remind me of the love & vows my future husband & I take, not that I have to deal with 2 separate companies if something ever were to happen to it or that I'm going to pay even "little" amounts for the rest of my life just to keep it in good shape. Maybe it just wasn't explained well to us. I did love that she emailed us pictures of all the rings that I narrowed my appeal down to. It is helpful in keeping track of where you saw certain rings and narrowing down choices further. Bottom line is we didn't get the experience we were hoping for, didn't feel valued, didn't find the ring of my dreams, or even gather our helper's name. I came to L T Denny after my Mom recommended them; she has a beautiful custom wedding ring that needed resizing, and they aced the job. Well, my dinged-up, too-small platinum engagement ring looks brand new, and they also stretched and re-rhodiumed my wedding band. Because I currently reside in Chicago (sigh), I dropped it off over the holidays but had to have it mailed back to me. They overnighted it inside three padded boxes. The price was unbelievably reasonable for the quality of work. The receptionist always remembered me, and I never felt like I was being treated differently because I didn't buy my rings from them. I will go back to L T Denny again and again, whenever I need my rings repaired or touched up! read more

After a few used car sales-like experiences at a couple of chain jewelry stores one of my family members recommended I check out LT Denny (apparently a distant family member worked there). I was very excited when we made the appointment the person the phone recognized my family member and seemed pretty friendly. Upon arrival we told the person over the intercom we had an appointment (the door is locked) we were buzzed in to a cramped room with two other couples being helped with nowhere for us to sit and the only place for us left to stand was in a corner with some display cases. Nobody even acknowledged us, didn't even glance our way! After about 15 minutes had passed into our scheduled appointment time I was annoyed enough to ask the person supervising the couple nearest us if anyone was aware we were waiting on someone to help us with our appointment to which she responded yes but were busy today someone will get to you when we have time. So we waited some more and eventually the same lady came to help us when her clients left. She didn't introduce herself or apologize for the wait or offer beverages or a seat or ask our names she just said what are you here for? She was very lackluster about helping us after that. It felt so frustrating and I felt like I was an inconvenience so we decided to leave shortly after. The reason they get two stars instead of one is that they seem to have a large selection on Tacori rings in their showroom compared to others and some other selections of Verragio. My husband and I bought my engagement ring at the typical engagement ring jeweler, but we decided to buy our wedding bands at LT Denny after my sister had a great experience there. Now we really wish we had gone to LT Denny earlier for my engagement ring too. Not only was their service exceptional, but they saved us a lot of money. We highly recommend this LT Denny to anyone who is familiar or unfamiliar with buying jewelry. I know my husband will be going back there for years! read more
