Discovered a piece of the rear passenger seatbelt missing. Absolutely no idea how it happened. There are only 2 of us and rarely use the back seat, so it could have been purchased that way. We live 2 hours from a dealership and they refused to look at the photos I sent via email to evaluate if the part was under warranty. So we made an appointment. When we went to the appointment they took pictures of the seatbelts, exactly the same as I took and said we'll evaluate and get back to you. Then I receive an email from them saying to reschedule my appointment because I did not show. It took 5 days and a phone call every day to finally get them to say NO it's not covered under warranty. Pretty sad that a safety issue like a seatbelt is not covered under warranty. We asked them to price it for us if we paid ourselves and is was DOUBLE what we had priced at our local Nissan dealer to fix in case it wasn't covered under warranty. For a luxury brand this has been a unfortunate experience for them to lose a customer and for us to go through.

I don't know if it's due to what is pushed by hearsay or whatever, but I think like most everyone I feel like there's some shenanigans afoot. We did our homework on what vehicle we wanted, and we had a trade in, something I've never done. We went in and they couldn't have been nicer, refreshingly NOT a hard sell. They didn't have the exact model on site, but said there was one on it's way from Japan, and we'd have to wait a week or two. That actually gave me time to do more studying on the Forester and how much the trade in was expected to fetch. We got the call it was in and headed that way, knowing we had the right to refuse. Long story short, the price was right, the terms were right, and our trade in came in to the exact dollar amount we expected. Couldn't be happier. All things considered, we'd buy from them again. And we'd get another Forester. It's a NICE vehicle... EXCEPT to use all of ApplePlay's features the iPhone needed to be plugged in to USB. For phone calls it uses bluetooth, so THAT'S good. I got an 8" cord from Amazon, and it fits nicely in front of the shifter.

Elizabeth greeted my father and I at the front door. We took the car for a test drive, which included a $50 Visa gift card for test driving a Subaru this month. I enquired about lease information and provided my details. We walked into Elizabeth's office where personal items were strewn across her desk....random keys, an opened pack of Marlboro cigarettes, etc. Real classy type of situation going on here at this dealership. Elizabeth went to retreive her sales manager's numbers on the vehicle; she came back and provided their price, which was substantially higher than a quote I received from Gerald in Naperville. When this was raised, Elizabeth's tone and attitude became argumentative, condescending, and dismissive when I provided her with the details from Gerald. She began nitpicking apart my quote from Gerald explaining that the lease price would actually be much higher, and explained that I would be paying for applicable options on the vehicle. I'm not interested in options, I'm interested in a Crosstrek Base which has a net cap cost of $25,346. She wasnt interested in hearing this either. My Dad asked a simple question about the financing rate on the lease, and Elizabeth's reaction was so ridiculous, unnecessary, and over the top....I told my father that we were done talking here, and we walked out. She blurted out to my father, "well I don't know the rate.....0.0000000 something", and used the tone of "why the hell are you asking me that question?". We're asking the question because we are looking to lease a vehicle, you invalid! Elizabeth ran behind us as we left, begging us to let her see if there was something she could do about the lease price. My father was more graceful as I was and actually continued to interact with her on our way out. The lease price isn't the problem. Elizabeth's entire being, including her disappointing, egregious attitude is to blame. I doubt that anything can be done to fix this problem, except fire her. I doubt that'll happen though. Because we all know car salesmen are scum of the Earth who project their extreme personal unhappiness onto anyone they can. These losers lost out on a sale of a vehicle today. Don't buy a vehicle from this place, they don't give a crap about you as a customer. They don't even honor the $50 Visa gift card for test driving a vehicle.

When we got to store the Sales Manager, Tom Julian, was also very helpful and made the buying experience memorable for my son. He was very cordial and I know we got a very good deal on the car. Over the decades of buying cars, this was by far the best interaction we have had with a dealership. If I had this interaction years ago when buying a car, I think we would have been a long term Ford family. Went to John Hennessey on the recommendation of a friend who had bought 5 cars from River View. I wanted a used Lexus. They gave me a loaner used car (one of their few Lexus used autos) to test out for the weekend. Price was more than fair, car was fine -- but too small for me. Just too darn small. But you don' t know till you get in and drive around for a bit. They delivered the car to the BNSF Metra station of my choice, and when I called John H and told him I fell in love with a used Infiniti (almost by accident, just stopping into another dealer to kick the tires--but the heart wants what it wants) they came to get the car where I was - at my sister's, about 1/2 hour from Oswego. This, after I used their car for almost 2 days. And I am almost ashamed to say, the last morning of which I shopped for other cars. If I was a Ford man, I would make a beeline to Riverview Ford. Based on my experience, a quality outfit -- stand-up guys.
