Paid close to $3k for professional service ahead of a road trip. Truck broke down on our last day of our vacation and couldn't get a repair from the local dealership for a week and couldn't get a rental or extend our stay. We had no choice but to buy a new vehicle to get my family home. Once the vacation dealership was able to get into the truck they determined the previous Dempsey service was a "faulty installation". Requested a refund and Dempsey told me it wasn't their problem. Do not get service here and do not support this dealership. They are terrible people and don't stand behind their work. Sharing my experience with this dealership. I stopped even trying. Reached out to five dealers on purchasing a Dodge Charger. Four responded with internet pricing and/or purchase agreements within two days, all within $2K of each other. This place, after a week and 11 emails, STILL hasn't given me a price. They kept telling me I had to come in because they didn't want to give prices to "competitors". Then they asked me for the pricing I'm getting (uhhh...competitors?) because they wanted to compare apples to apples. I gave it to them...then got BS responses and no offer. They don't have the window stickers online, and the VINs are all incorrect so I can't even look it up myself to make sure the vehicles are similar (only reason I kept talking to them was because they have a color/trim combo that I can't find nearby...but of course after several communications about that vehicle, I was told it wasn't available because someone put a deposit on it). My final note from them was to tell me the dealer I was talking to was lying about a $,7,750 EV incentive since the government took those away in the fall. Yes, I'm aware of that...it's a DODGE incentive!!! Also throwing in their "lowest sales tax" BS., where I was told they could save me a "hundreds" in taxes, even though they were fully aware what county I lived in..in Illinois, you pay sales tax where you register your vehicle. And you're legally required to register at your primary residence. If I had a summer home in a lower-tax county, maybe I could take advantage if I wanted to do it illegally. But regardless of what they "collect" at the sale, I'm still paying the tax at registration. Reminded them where I lived and they continued to tell me it didn't matter. I wouldn't even be writing this if they didn't double-down on everything they were dishonest about when I'd ask to clarify. Constant dis-information. I bought a $100,000 hellcat Durango and when they did the ceramic coating there were paint chips they went over (they were there when I bought it and pointed it out to Jon in sales, and Josh the manager) which I waited over a year for them to correct. Then when the owner gave me his word they would pick it up and fix it for me...guess what? They didn't (fyi I live 6 minutes away). Even the owner takes the time to say hello. I had my car towed there. Let them know it was coming. I told them it sounded like the gears broke. Two transmissions later. I'm so grateful I came here. The first one didn't work out I guess. They fixed it and stood behind their work. I even had an issue with a seat part that got broken somehow while in their care. They fixed it, no charge. Buying was great until there was an issue. No return phone calls for days and most the times I had to call again. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone. I will drive 30 minutes to next nearest dealer until we get rid of the truck. No return phone calls the majority of the time. Promise us one thing and refused when time came for a refund. I pay my credit card every month and it was paid. They still would not give us a check for refund like they said they would. Now I have to wait for the credit card company for them to issue a check to us. The issue went on for two months. Clearly a manufactures issue which was all over the internet. They wanted me to contact my insurance company for them to pay. I did and he said absolutely not and shame on them for even suggesting it. I had enough of three phone calls checking on status and called Corporate, two days later I got the call they were covering it. After all the issues they had guts to call and offer to buy it back. The rudest car dealership I have ever dealt with in my life. Went back two separate weekends and the price they quoted us went up! When I was told to come back in because they dropped the price! When I questioned the price from the internet to what was presented to me the general manager actually stood up, towered over me was yelling in my face , was cutting me off because I was frustrated they told me to come in ( for the second time) because the price had dropped. (All this in front of my husband) I was in shock. They have no interest in answering your questions or working with you. It's the ridiculously over priced first offer or GTFO. The other gentlemen who I believe was the owner also made us feel uncomfortable and we could tell right away this was not going to go well before the GM even came out. Went in to special order a car and ended up vowing to never step foot in here again. Called beforehand and confirmed they could work within our price requirements. Went in to place the order for a vehicle, negotiated our trade-in. But because we used several (Jeep offered) special offers and affiliate pricing (from work), the owner decided to come over and talk to us. This is when we should have walked out. He started the conversation with "Here's the couple that's trying to lowball us", then proceeded to accuse us of trying to be "unfair" and "take advantage" of him. He "also has mouths to feed" and values honesty, even though we may not. What?!? After agreeing on a trade-in price and a purchase price, we left with the understanding that they would send over paper work in the morning for us to sign. Instead, the next day we got a phone call from the owner claiming we got too good of a deal and said "you can come back in or not", but he was upset with the negotiated and agreed upon price and didn't believe our trade-in offer, even though we had documentation. I have never felt so talked down to and disrespected from a dealership in my life (by the owner no less), especially not when attempting to purchase a $90,000 vehicle. I used to think this was a great place to have my Jeep serviced, but this week totally changed my mind. I came in for a simple oil change and inspection. They advertise Express Lane service for a quick oil change. I was there over 2 hours, not exactly quick. When I went to pay out, I asked if there was anything of concern found on the inspection and was told no. I mentioned that my neighbor heard my brakes grinding and wanted confirmation. They pulled up my inspection, and, sure enough, brakes were listed as critical. They were going to let me leave with a critical issue, even though I had an inspection. I chose to go elsewhere to have the brakes repaired. As part of their service, they showed me the air filter and cabin filter. They were disgustingly dirty and full of leaves. Odd, Dempsey had told me that they were both just fine and did not need to be replaced. This clearly told me they never even looked at them and just "checked the off". This makes me wonder just how many other things they skipped in my inspection, and just marked as "good". I now even wonder if they even changed my oil, given that they clearly failed on so many other parts of the service. They have lost my business, including when I decide to buy my next Jeep. read more

Highly recommend buying a car from Dempsey. My husband and I dreaded that we had to shop for a new car as most dealers are just a pain to deal with. However Dempsey made this experience as stressfree and pleasant as possible!! Our salesman, Larry, was friendly and very open and honest, 2 things that You usually do not equate with car salesman. The financing was a breeze and quick. We have spent over 3 hours in the past just dealing with financing and people trying to sell us all kinds of unneeded accessories!!! Not here, simple and not complicated. Our whole experience was less than 2 hours!!! We only had one very minor hesitation about the car and they they offered to fix it and drive the car to our house when done!! We are an hour away!! If we were not satisfied we can cancel our contract!! Now that is service!!! We are very happy with our purchase and the dealer. They will not sell the automobile at their listed online price or even sticker without an additional bloated package containing undercoating, paint protection, dent, and interior protection and whatever else. Went to go check out a maserati ghibli sq4. They failed to mention any of the problems the car had over the phone. I asked them if there was any technology issues, literally any problems at all and they said no. I then spent 300 dollars traveling there and back from my home in chicago, just to pull up to a car that has tech issues and a broken back up camera. When i tried to make a deal with Mr. Dempsey, the actual owner of the dealership who came up to me and introduced himself, he told me there was absolutely no way they could move on the price and that they would find someone else who would overlook the backup camera to sell it too. I simply asked for 1000 dollars off of the price to go fix the camera which costs 2500 dollars, and I was told that there is "no way anyone would ever lower the price of a car like that." It's a 2019 maserati ghibili, probably the highest depreciating car on the market. The people here don't care about doing business with real customers. If you don't think the price makes sense it is almost impossible to negotiate with these rude people. The craziest part is that if they dont sell the car within this year its going to drop like 5k off the price... also this dealership is so narcissistic that they put a fucking adhesive piece of metal with their name on it on the car... stop ruining vehicles with ur dealership logo it looks terrible and causes damage. Overall wish i could give this place 0 stars and the owner needs to brush his teeth, literally bright yellow with plaque everywhere. Disgusting. read more

I am not the type to leave reviews usually but, from the moment I walked in the door I was treated like a friend and not a customer. Not only was my salesman informative and not pushy but the sales manager and even the owner Mr. Dempsey came out to greet me and check on my experience. Very Impressed. After purchasing my 2020 Pacifica from the Naperville dealer, they turned me down for a crack in my driver's side mirror that happened a few months after purchase in sub zero temperatures. I took my van to Dempsey in Plano just shy of 3 years later for AC issues, not only did they fix it but they replaced my mirror (which had extreme yellow discoloration and big distortion in my visibility) which is what a bumper to bumper should do! I purchased my Jeep from this location, due to the extremely competitive price as well as eagerness to put me in the EXACT model I was looking for. The buying experience was very smooth. When I would bring my Jeep to other dealerships for maintenance, every one of them tried to upsell services not necessary - while missing issues that should have been addressed. Great customer service at the time of purchase, because they will happily take your money, but you better hope you never have to deal with warranty issues or the service department for anything more than an oil change unless you can be without a car for a lengthy amount of time (going on 34 days with no diagnosis and not a peep from the service department in two weeks). I cannot say enough good things about the service department at Dempsey Motors in Plano. I have been met with friendly and professional staff each time. I have a Jeep dealer less than 5 minutes to my house, but will gladly drive the 40 minutes to come here. I had an appointment at the closer dealer and was told it would be at least a four hour fix with my car. Drove out to Dempsey and they were able to get me in right away and get the work(oil change, tire rotation and factory recalls) done quickly. Purchased a used car from them. sales person went in great detail about how they inspect used cars for mechanical problems and how they backed up their sales to create a "family relationship". Salesman was specifically asked if there were ANY mechanical problems noted with the vehicle to which he replied the vehicle was in great working order with no defects. Asked salesmen about delay in blower startup to which he relied the delay was normal in this model vehicle. During purchase service came to wash the vehicle while papers were signed. When car was returned 30 minutes later, noticed noise in exhaust system. The noise was attributed to the wash. 6 days later.... Blower stopped working and check engine light came on. Called company who related first loaner car would be available 7 days later. In meanwhile learned check engine light was a Exhaust CAM actuator (Source of earlier noise). Dempsey refused to pay for repairs relating no check engine light was on when I drove off the lot. Wanted $1000 in repairs which I declined and took to my own trustworthy mechanic. I and everyone I know will shop elsewhere for vehicles from now on. read more

Our experience at this dealership was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The sales associates were very helpful and great to work with but unfortunately, the leadership team at this dealership is really lacking in their ability to communicate, serve the customers, and support their sales associates. The short story: This team has us come in all the way from Chicago, test drive the car, badger us when we didn't want their service package, wait for over 30 minutes as they went back and forth only to tell us that the car that we had secured the day before with a deposit was sold 4 days prior. The long story: We talked to a sales associate (JT) to confirm that a vehicle listed as available on the website was actually available and we put a $500 deposit on the vehicle to hold it until the next morning (we were driving all the way from Chicago with our newborn and intended to purchase the vehicle). The next morning someone from their team called us to confirm that we were coming in, and we confirmed that we were heading in. When we arrived, the sales manager (Cory) greeted us and connected us with an associate (Jordan) so that the vehicle could be test driven and paperwork started - they pulled the vehicle into their showroom so that we could see it and then my husband drove it. We started the process to purchase it and Cory (sales manager) came out to discuss some add on's that they wanted to sell us - we weren't interested in their service program that we wouldn't use (having them drive a loaner all the way to Chicago, our car back to Plano and then back is hugely wasteful) - he seemed agitated when we continued expressing that we were not interested in that service, we were ready to just buy the car. He went back inside to continue with the paperwork and about 30 minutes later, the business manager came out to tell us that the car was ALREADY SOLD (on the previous Saturday and it was a Wednesday). What?!? It would have been comical had we not wasted several hours of our day and really wanted the car - we worked with two sales associates, the associate who called to confirm, and the SALES MANAGER - and no one knew that the car was already sold. The business manager proceeded to say that his sales associate, JT, didn't know what he was doing - clearly the business manager was the one who failed to communicate since several members (including Cory who at this point was no where to be seen) of the team were trying to sell us this car (not to mention how unprofessional and lacking in leadership it is to blame your employee when you're in an uncomfortable situation due to your own mistakes). The most simple and basic...yet most critical piece of information about available inventory was not communicated to the sales team. If the leaders can't get this right, I'm willing to bet that there is little else that they can. Despite the huge waste of time and frustration, it was a blessing in disguise since the folks running this place are having difficulty managing the simplest of tasks. read more

If I could give a zero I would. Set up appointment three weeks ago. Told them this was the only vehicle we had. Service told us no problem it will be done that day. Dropped it off and they said you can pick it up next day. Told them no it needs to be done today. Called Mr. Dempsey to get the truck done. This was for warranty work. Truck was done end of day. Got a survey for there Service gave them a bad review. Got a call from the warranty at ram service saying that the dealership with not do the work. Told ram Service the work was done. So she called the service department and than called us back to tell us that the dealership will never work on our truck for warranty work or anything else. WHY because we gave them low marks on there survey. Or because we called Mr Dempsey to get the job done. So Dempsey black balled us from there shop. I notice there are a lot of reviews on the sales side of Dempsey but not service. Today I used Dempsey for service for the first time and I had a great experience. I have had bad experiences in the past even at my own dealership (I'm in the car business). These guys are professional, they don't over promise and under deliver. They got me right in for my service. They did everything they are supposed to without cutting any corners. My tire pressure was adjusted, tires were rotated properly. They reset the oil life as they should and left a sticker in the window as a reminder. I will definitely come back here for service. read more

I stopped here to do a vehicle inspection on behalf of a client who was interested in purchasing a car here and the manager very rudely told me I wasn't allowed to be here on weekends because they only "sell cars" on Saturday and Sunday. He also said he would throw me out if he needed to. Way to be an unnecessary jagoff. Apparently doing inspections for prospective buyers doesn't count in helping them sell cars. This behavior from a manager is unprofessional and despicable. I'm going to be in the market for a new car later this year and the way this manager treated me will ensure that this joint is not on the list of places I will give consideration to. Unbelievable. First car buying experience at this dealership was poor to say the least. Salesperson was fine to work with, inexperienced but did his best. The owner "Mr. Dempsey" was the problem. Arrogant and insulting. The only thing I can think of is his dealership must be the only one in the area. He was rude, insulting and completely disrespectful. To make matters worse, I drove from two hours away excited about buying my first vehicle only to be met with rude, egotistical behavior. I was very interested in purchasing my first truck and would have done so after all professional negotiations were complete had it not been for him. Do yourself a favor and drive out of your way to avoid this dealership. On a side note, the young salesperson I was working with subsequently was fired for his handling of the situation. Had an amazing experience here! The staff works so well together everyone was so kind and not pushy. The Building and Showroom were so welcoming and clean. I worked with a Salesmen named TJ and he was so helpful I bought a used GMC and during our test drive he told us everything he knew about the car even though he doesn't sell GMCs regularly. It meant a lot that he spent a little more time learning about the vehicle before we came in for the test drive. It will be awhile before we buy another car but I will say when the time comes Dempsey will be the first place we look. read more

We have a 2008 Jeep liberty that was purchased new here. All of its service has been done here. Finger tight Lugnuts after an oil change and tire rotation, we didn't find out until we were 480 miles from home! Thanks for that, you could've killed us. Now we have a smell coming from the heater vent that the service manager claimed was because there were paper towels behind the glove box that Were causing a resistor to heat up. Paper towels have been removed, smell has not dissipated. They say that there is nothing wrong with it and there is nothing they can do about it.
