I wasn't able to fully experience the hotel because I saw the Yankees play in Camden Yards and then drove to Frederick MD. Once I opened the hotel room door, it was welcoming to see I had a full suite with a large bathroom. The air conditioning I have to report was working very well, the room was cold like a meat locker. We needed a night on the road during recent travels, and we stayed here. The staff are very friendly and kind. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was nice with waffles, scrambled eggs, spinach quiche, turkey sausage, fruits, oatmeal, and bagels, English muffins, and fruit muffins. There was a set of Marriott properties close together. I picked the cheapest one, wondering whether it was worth paying another $20 for one of the other ones. My conclusion was probably yes. It wasn't the cleanest, the bed wasn't the most comfortable, it didn't have a pool or a ton of amenities. I got a basic breakfast and that was fine. My late checkout that I wanted wasn't registered, but I'm not 100% sure whether it was on me or on them, and they had no difficulty extending my stay when they called and asked why I was still there. Regardless, nothing hugely bad happened to me, but I could have stood to be more comfortable. read more

We had a Wedding to go to in Maryland and stayed at Fairfield by Marriott . The coffee in lobby was always cold not fresh. You have to ask the front desk for coffee creamer all the time they don't leave it near the coffee. The room and bathroom are so small. Wasn't a fan of this hotel!! read more

The hotel is located in a fantastic spot in town, close to lots of dining, takeout and shopping. I arrived early for an event and had enough time to explore the nearby mall and grab something quick to eat without driving a million miles out of the way. I used the Marriott Bonvoy app to book the room and enter trip logistics. An early check-in request was accommodated and I received a mobile notification that my room keys were ready. Cool! Early check-in enabled me to relax and freshen up a bit prior to the event I was in town for. The front desk representatives on check in and check out made me feel very welcomed. The interior decor of the lobby and common areas are gorgeous, fun, hip spaces conducive catching up with family and friends, reading or computer work. The room was okay, quaint, good enough. Some details: The pillows and mattress were a little too soft for me and I found a few little stains on the shower curtain. The absence of USB inputs was a glaring omission and frankly unexpected. Luckily I had a USB adapter but I didn't have another for my husband. There wasn't a microwave in the room but one was located where the complimentary breakfast is served. And the complimentary breakfast? Meh. I've had much better at the Holiday Inn Express. All in all I would gladly visit this hotel again based on accommodation of my early check-in request and its proximity to dining options and shopping. read more

Marriott's, and other big name hotels, are great because you know what you're getting. It's like ordering a pizza from Papa Johns. There might be variation from location to location. Some might have better management. But essentially, you know exactly what you'll get. And it's usually clean and comfortable, but nothing near luxury. This Fairfield's staff was EXTREMELY kind and accommodating. They were always friendly and provided helpful information. When we found out they didn't have a hot tub by their pool, they called the hotel next door and asked if my husband and nephew could go swimming there. They really did go above and beyond in terms of hospitality. But the negatives: The walls are so very, VERY thin. Like, we could hear our neighbors using the toilet, their muffled voices, we could hear the cleaning crew-- their vacuuming sounded like it was right by us. Also, we put the "Do Not Disturb" sign up, and came home to a freshly made bed. It's always unsettling to see that someone came into the room when you asked them not to. My third gripe is that some parts of our rooms weren't very clean. The bathroom (and I'll attach pictures) had this white chalky residue on a wall, and other orange spills across another wall. We also found a HUGE stinkbug in the room (picture attached). And fourthly, our AC unit went out a few hours before bedtime, so we went to bed sweating, then it turned on at 3:00am and was so loud it startled us awake. The experience was doable, we were ok staying here through all of this. But I hope, if management reads the reviews, that someone does something about the negative aspects of our experience, so that future guests won't have to deal with them as well. read more

Our family stayed here for a wedding. Afterward, I found out that they charged me for four additional rooms. I never received email confirmations of these reservations so I was unaware of these four reservations. When I talked to the hotel, they were uncooperative and rude. They could not provide me with the original reservations when I asked for them and refused to resolve this situation. This place was pleasing to the eye, but please beware. They put a hold on $150 on your debit or credit card for incidentals for 7 to 10 days. Not the 5 to 7 days that they state. #2 problem, the room had an unpleasant order to it. upon reading other reviews, this is an ongoing problem. #3 the front desk person was not pleasant. I was having a very mini vacation away from the house and you could see the demeanor of the person change when she realized I lived in the area. She wasn't pleasant at all. My stay was on October 19. First off, I'm giving this 5 stars with the exception of AC unit not working properly in 2 of our rooms. We stayed here for my sister's wedding this weekend. August 2017. Yes, high expectations for a wedding.. especially having 40+ relatives staying with us! Staff- Called ahead- staff let us check in early (amazing because most hotels give you a hard time about that) Super friendly (my mom made friends with the woman working the breakfast.) Whenever we called down to the front desk for either toothbrushes or water for the bridal party getting ready, someone was at our door within a short few minutes! No one gave us a hard time! Hotel- pleasantly surprised. I usually stay at residence inns by Marriott, so initially I was bummed. but FAIRFIELD INN was great. Many of our relatives commented on how clean and nice the hotel was! IF I COULD RECOMMEND A ROOM, I'D SAY KING SUITE. WE HAD TWO CONJOINING.. IT WAS A GREAT LAYOUT & TONS OF SPACE! **17 people in the room. hair ladies, makeup ladies, and bridal girls** COMFORTABLE FIT! Don't believe me? TRY IT OUT! Two other weddings going on the same weekend, so rooms ended up being limited which we were bummed about. Only thing that would give hotel a billion stars would be a courtesy call to our bride and groom letting them know to push their wedding guests to book sooner because there were many weddings. Really? I'm in a hotel rooms 2 to 4 nights a week. I'm a nomad. So a good hotel with some cozy things makes a difference. Make no mistake, this is a generic chain hotel, but the people are nice, the rooms are clean and they have some nice amenities. There's an inside pool for those of you inclined to public pools, they gross me out in general. There's a little area with a microwave, paper plates and utensils, condiments, etc. This is a godsend for a business traveller with take out. read more

We stayed for one night at this hotel to attend a wedding. When we arrived, we checked in without issue, but the AC in our room was broken. Since we weren't going to be there long, we decided to just live with it. Breakfast the next morning was good. The issue we had was anytime we spoke with the hotel front-desk on the phone, they were unhelpful or downright rude. We called when booking to ask about an early check-in and were basically shuffled off the phone. Yet when we arrived we were told this wasn't an issue. A few days after getting home I realized I had forgotten my glasses (I primarily wear contacts), and called the hotel. They refused to check the room, and would only check the lost and found. I doubt they even did that. Since it's unlikely someone stole a pair of prescription glasses, I would guess they are probably still at that hotel. read more

Perfect for what it was. Reasonably priced AAA rates and easy access for on/off the highway. Which is absolutely necessary since you need to get on a highway to go ANYWHERE in the area. Large, clean rooms and fresh complimentary continental breakfast. Helpful and friendly front desk staff who seamlessly split our bill three ways out of the goodness of their hearts. Only downside was the very small fitness center. Like four machines and no weights small. And all the machines faced the wall, not the mirror, which I thought was strange. On the outside, this hotel looked great. I really thought that the inside would live up to my expectations. Unfortunately, the closer we got to a "private" space (that is, our assigned room), the less pleasant I found the experience to be. So let's start on the outside and work our way in. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find. It is just off the interstate, but luckily the road noise won't bother you a bit. The entryway and lobby area are bright, modern, and welcoming. The front desk staff were kind and attentive. So far, so good, right? Headed down the hallway past the indoor pool, hot tub, and patio, we got our first look inside the "fitness center". I'll bet you are thinking what I thought; a "fitness center" should be spacious, modern, and well-appointed just like the lobby and the name seemed to imply, right? Um, no. The room was tiny, and packed almost to overflowing with just 3 ancient aerobic machines. Although the HDTVs on each machine were some small compensation, I was disappointed by the lack of space to do pushups and the lack of any anaerobic equipment (like weights). Continuing down the hall a few more feet, we arrived at our room. Every time we went through the door to our room (including this first time) a very strong mildew smell struck my nose. Leaving the A/C on or turning it off didn't help. We finally decided by the last day to tell the front desk. We were told, "yes, the first floor - especially around the pool - gets very musty at times. we'll alert housekeeping." Hopefully, the next couple to stay in that room won't have the same smells greeting them every time they enter. The bath products and towels were not quite as nice as I would've expected for a room over $100 per night, but the complimentary breakfast and bedding were both up to snuff. The furniture in general was clean, well-maintained, modern, and fully functional. The area around the hotel felt completely safe, the room was well-lit, and everyone on staff was very polite. Normally, when I write one of these reviews it feels clear to me that the business has earned a certain star rank. In this particular case, I was torn at the start between two and three stars. Honestly, I still feel torn. The reason I went with three stars was because of the positive efforts the hotel staff seems to be making to give their guests a great lodging experience for a reasonable price. A less-engaged, less-friendly group of people would've easily netted only one or two stars. But the people at this Fairfield Inn actually saved my review by giving me a better customer experience than I otherwise would've had; and that bumped them up to three stars. read more

Enjoyed our 2 day stay because the hotel staff was super. Not because of any particular big thing but because of all the little things which too often get over looked. I placed notes when I made my reservation requesting extra pillows and another box of tissues and that we were checking in late. Everything was as requested and our room was nice and clean. The weather was bitter cold and our room was nice and toasty when we arrived cold and tired. That alone was really appreciated. Luggage carts were near the entrance but I really wish someone would improve the design of these stubborn direction challanged devices. I aways seem to pull or push the wrong end. The ladies who do the breakfast setup were very accommodating when I arrived a few minutes before they closed it up. They even provided me a tray so I could bring my hubby his breakfast. Checking out was seamless. This hotel is right near a bunch of stuff so it was super convenient and a way better choice than staying in Gettysburg IMHO. read more

Had to stay here for 6 weeks and it wasn't bad at all. The staff is friendly (even at 1:00am when I was checking in) and helpful. The breakfast is the same every single day which is a bit of a drag, but practical from a hotel point of view. The laundry room was often out of service, but we just went to the hotel behind us instead. The rooms run a little small, but that's to be expected. The internet is REALLY slow, don't count on watching anything on YouTube. The gym was 24 hours, which was convenient. Within walking distance from movies, Mom's Organic grocery, restaurants and shopping. The only thing I missed was a shuttle. Really nothing to complain about. I would stay there again if I had to. read more

Have stayed here often with no real issues... not this time. Had to travel to town for a funeral service. Since the four of us prefer not to travel 6 hours in formal attire, and since I am Platinum Premier Plus, I called ahead to make sure that we could get an early check-in (11:30) in at least one of our rooms so we could change prior to the services. "No problem" they promised 'at least' one room. Also did my mobile check-in for 11:30 and was accepted. Arrived right @ specified time and was summarily dismissed - no room available and staff was quite skeptical of my claim that anyone would tell me that there would be, even when I showed them the accepted 11:30 check-in on my phone. Less than cooperative or customer oriented. Finally invoked the name of franchisee and an available handicapped room was offered. Returned after the services to check-in to my 'other' room and once inside was greeted by the current occupant - a dead, dried out 2" cockroach in the closet - thrilled... wrapped it in toilet tissue and presented it to the desk staff. Their response: "sorry about that". This place is headed downhill fast....... read more

The first room we were put in smelled like mold. The second room smells like urine. You can hear every noise from the hallway and other rooms. I have no idea how this hotel got the rating it did. I do not think it meets the standards of most Marriott hotels we have stayed in. read more

Was a decent place if you can get AAA pricing. The mattress wasn't up to Marriott standards based on where I have stayed before. They do give free internet access. I will compliment them on the free breakfast which is better than most I've had. Eggs, sausage, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, cereal, and waffles. I stay at a lot of Marriott franchise hotels. This is a decent hotel, safe area, clean, nice employees but.... yep, but. We checked in on Easter Sunday on our way home from Raleigh NC. We decided to split the trip into two days because we were coming back from a wedding and knew we would be tired. Got to the hotel around 3pm and there were three cars in the lot. Checked in and were told that hotel was pretty empty and asked were we wanted to be. Got to our first room.... yep first room and unpacked and then the ac kicked on. Loud noise from plastic cover that was vibrating. Looked at it and could tell it was not seated on the tracks and needed to be removed and reseated. I tried but couldn't reposition it. Went downstairs and asked for maintenance and found out they were off for the holiday that night so I got another room. This room was quiet but the fan in the bathroom didn't turn, just buzzed. Oh well we decided to just go with it. Checked out the next morning and mentioned the fan to the clerk who smiled and said thank you. Didn't take any notes or say someone will look into it. I assume both rooms will get repaired. Went to the silver diner nearby for dinner and highly recommend that. Overall not bad but not what I was used too for a Marriott property. read more

Stayed here for my wedding weekend. The staff was great and they gave my husband and I chocolate chip cookies and milk to top our evening off. So thoughtful! While i wish the bathroom and vanity were connected, the rooms were clean and comfortable. My guests and I thought the breakfast was great and the staff was very accommodating. Called this hotel in a pinch, from the min my husband called the lady at the desk Chasity was a sweet heart. Came to the hotel shortly after calling and Chasity greeted us with an awesome smile and was so amazingly sweet. once we got our key came up to the room and was super impressed about how it looked, Yes it is on the small side but for 2 people its a descent size. Needed a snack from the market downstairs and didn't have any cash on me and i wasn't the one who was paying for my stay so then Chasity comped my Cup o Noodles. If i had to stay in Fredrick again i absolutely would stay at this hotel!!! read more

Overall experience was okay. Convenient location, it is right across the street of several restaurants. The room: Cleanliness was just okay. The sheets were dirty, when i lifted the comforter to get into bed I saw some sort of wet spots/stains on the mattress cover. Luckily, I was in a room with 2 queen beds so I slept on the other. The breakfast: Waffles were good, coffee was not the greatest. But, it was free so that is a plus. Mini store next to the reception desk: Not enough variety, additional toiletries would've been helpful such as contact lense solution/cases. Additional info: The pool area was extremely hot. We also needed a cork screw so we called the front desk, they were unable to provide. This hotel was not extremely awful, however, if I were in the area again it would not be my first choice. read more

I cannot rave about this hotel and staff enough! I had an issue with my confirmation and within five minutes of calling, it was fixed. Check in was a breeze, staff was cordial, and the newly renovated rooms were great! The breakfast was delicious, the management took your plates for you, greeted you with a smile, and asked if there was anything else they could do for us. My fiancee and I got married in Walkersville, MD and we were SO HAPPY with our choice of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Frederick. Our coordinator, Janet, has been AMAZING from Day 1 and has helped make this such a stress-free part of our wedding planning prep. Janet has been very communicative and always goes above and beyond to make sure we had the proper wedding arrangements for ourselves and our guests. One of the things I appreciate most is that Janet doesn't immediately say 'No' to any of our requests, rather fully listens to us and then proposes options tailored to our situation. During our wedding weekend, the Front Desk Manager, Becky was OUTSTANDING and was so accommodating in making sure my family was taken care of. We had some last minute booking changes and they bent over backwards to accommodate us which is even more impressive considering they had 5 weddings on our wedding weekend! The breakfast was top notch and my family was able to eat together in their large dining area. Their rooms were so clean, the A/C worked great, and they even helped to make sure our older relatives had handicap accessible rooms. The staff was top notch in every regard and really came through for us on our biggest weekend. We booked their entertaining room in the sister Residence Inn across the parking lot and the room was set up perfect and they were again so helpful and accommodating. Everything exceeded my expectations and this location is the GO TO for any events in the Frederick, MD area. Their prices are the best in the area and their hospitality makes you feel like their a 5-star hotel (honestly). We had such personalized attention and couldn't have been happier!
