    For almost a week I held up at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Bloomington, IN. I typically choose Hilton, but the business rate was best here. Overall this is a solid choice with friendly staff. But the lack of attention in house keeping dragged the review down. The check-in and check-out process was smooth. The staff was friendly and efficient. The key card worked first time to my double. The room was properly prepared. The room was clean, but dated with less plugins than I care for to use computers and phones. The bathroom was fine. The climate was regulated properly. The TV worked. House keeping was the annoying aspect of the stay. Beds were never fully made, weird right? All four days the same, room was lightly picked up and beds not made. I would probably not return to this property. But cannot rule out. I did not utilize the FREE breakfast on my stay so I cannot include information in this area.

    The epitome of average. It's toward the bottom of the Marriott chain and nestled in one of the armpits of Bloomington. It's tucked just off to the side of two of Bloomington's highways and shares a road with a below-average hibachi restaurant, other hotels, and a McDonalds. The entrance is in the back and walking in the front door informs one of how poorly this place was planned. They only have one elevator so you may have to wait for a while if you're not a fan of the stairs like I am. It's not terrible but definitely not good.

    What a horrible experience...and I really wanted to like it. This place was poorly managed, and worst of all, dirty and not clean. It was disgusting. Let me explain. We had a flight get delayed and didn't arrive at the hotel until 3:00pm. We checked in and the lady at the front desk was nice and helpful. We got to our room, and it looked ok. However, there was an alarm going off in some work room a few doors down from our room. I had to call to have them turn it off. After 30 minutes, they finally got it. No worries. However, then the disgusting part..........while we were checking out the view of the parking lot we noticed that our window was full of dead flies. Really.....dead flies. A bunch of them. Not sure about you, but that was pretty bad. We were so tired that we figured we would just tell the front desk in the morning. Usually, we would move, but it was 3:30am, we were so tired, and we didn't want to go through the hassle of moving. We figured it would get taken care of. The next morning we had an appointment so we were out at 10:00am. I stopped at the front desk and told the manager at that time. She apologized and promised to get it cleaned immediately. It's Covid and we wanted it fixed by the time we got back. We returned at 5:00pm.......7 hours later!! We come back, the flies are still there and the room had not been cleaned. Incredible. I called the front desk and the man in charge said the cleaning crew already left, it couldn't be cleaned. Really?? He told me they only had 2 housekeepers for 68 rooms that day and they must have missed it. So the entire time I had dead flies in my room and they didn't care. I asked if he could bring me a vacuum and I would clean it. He said no. Incredible Marriot!! Is this the way you want to be represented? I am a Bonvoy member who stays at Marriot's all the time. Not sure now. You need to do better.

The eggs and biscuits & gravy were especially good--fresh, hot, and actually flavorful, which you don't always get with hotel breakfasts. The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but there were a couple of comfort issues. It tended to run a bit warm, and the thermostat didn't seem to cool down to the temperature we set. The air also felt pretty dry overnight. We had an accessible (handicap) shower, and while it was easy to use, it left about half of the bathroom floor soaked after each shower. That made the floor very slick, which was a bit of a safety concern. We also liked that the hotel had a pool, which is always a nice perk, but it was pretty small. Overall, a nice stay with great amenities and breakfast, but a few room comfort and bathroom design issues that could be improved.

Small food store in the front that was very reasonably priced. Rooms were clean, bright and well appointed. Didn't use room service but it was very clean and well dressed. Breakfast setup is typical for the chain and well stocked. Attendants did a great job every day that I was there and they were always cheerful. One drawback is that the gym is very limited. There is enough to get in a workout but the cardio gear is very dated. Overall, solid experience and I recommend this location for a short or long stay.

I was asked to let them know how my stay was so far ( I stayed for a week and was asked on my second day and I simply said that an extra chair in the room would be a nice touch and later on that evening I heard a knock on my door and to my surprise I was handed a chair to add to me room... WOWZERS!!! I have to give a major shout out to Ms. Johna who made sure breakfast was fresh hot and very YummyLicious every morning!!! She became my favorite and her smile was amazing!!! My only concern was/ is that my personal Grey hand towel was taken when the Housekeeper cleaned the room, changed the linen and changed out the towels she took mine. That didn't make sense to me and I did report IT and there was nothing done to replace my towel once they did a search and could not find IT. Because of that. I give them. 4 's!!!

I would not. My husband had to tell them he didn't want to be tracked. The beds and pillows weren't the most comfortable. There were springs in the bed that made a lot of noise from just getting up. One of two elevators was out of commission. We could not get to our room from the lobby by stairs unless we went around to the parking lot and then went up. A friend who's stayed there 3 other times checked in July 9. He'd made his reservation by phone & requested the military discount he'd received the previous 3 times he stayed there. He was told to ask for that upon check-in. He did that & was told he should have arranged for that when he made the res. & that they would not be honoring it. He went to his room & found the bathroom had not been cleaned. I was waiting for him in the lobby when he showed a photo to the desk clerk. She yelled for all guests in the lobby to hear, "That is disgusting!" He asked to talk to the manager & was told he'd be in at 9:00 next morning. My friend asked then to speak to him & was told he'd have to wait: There was a line of guests waiting to talk to the manager! He came back in a few hours & was told the manager was gone for the day. The desk clerk (BTW, it was difficult to identify staff from guests: they all wore jeans, sneakers, shorts & had no ID's) gave him the manager's email & said to send him a note to let him know what he wanted to discuss. My friend continued to ask to see the manager, but he was never available. The common areas were littered & the scant breakfast offerings were either cold or burned. Much of the equipment that used to be in the fitness room has been removed. My friend checked out yesterday morning and, no, he still has not heard from the manager. He will never stay there again, & I will tell all friends & family to find another Bloomington hotel.

    One of the worst customer service experiences I've had…read more On April 24, 2026, I was traveling alone with two children, including a toddler, when I discovered at 5 AM that my vehicle had been towed and I was at risk of missing my flight. The most frustrating part wasn't even the tow--it was the complete lack of help from the hotel. I was essentially handed the tow company's phone number and told to figure it out myself. I had to repeatedly push for management involvement and ask the hotel to contact the tow company directly because I couldn't get answers on my own. Afterward, getting follow-up information was just as difficult. Emails went unanswered, I had to repeatedly request updates, and it took multiple follow-ups just to obtain basic information about my case. What really stood out was that the tow company owner ultimately showed more accountability than the hotel. He reviewed the situation, acknowledged how the misunderstanding could have happened, and refunded the tow fee. Meanwhile, the hotel's position was essentially that it wasn't their problem. I understand that mistakes happen. What disappointed me was the lack of communication, ownership, and concern for a guest dealing with a stressful situation while traveling with young children.

I know that I'm going to have friendly staff, a comfortable room, and an easy time with check in and out. This hotel was no different, and I was thrilled. I got to town about a half hour before check in, and because my room was clean already, they let me in early. I caught a quick nap in a very comfortable bed (my nap was easier thanks to some very effective blackout curtains). After my nap and a quick shower (perfect water pressure, and the water temperature was very responsive), I went down to the bar to grab a quick drink before heading out for my shows. The bartender was very friendly, but I'll admit I was a little worried when I found out the well whisky was a scotch. I've had a lot of bad scotch in my time, and I didn't want to do that again. But I tried it anyway, and it was both a decent scotch and a well made drink. Lots of respect to the bartender, who was friendly but not overbearing, and knowledgeable about places to go for nightlife after my shows. When I got back, I was able to fall asleep quickly and easily because the room stayed quiet. I don't know if I was surrounded by quiet people, or if the walls are well soundproofed, but it worked either way. Checkout was quick and painless. I didn't have time to have breakfast because I had to get back on the road too soon, but it smelled amazing.
