This Home2 Suites location is at the beginning of Downtown that is dog friendly ($75/stay for 1-4 nights and $125/stay for 5+ nights), The number of pets allowed is 2. Pet weight limit is 75 lbs., has free parking, complementary breakfast, free WiFi, has washer and dryers ($0.75 to use the washer and the same to use the dryer) on site and fitness center with pool available for use for guests. My husband, our little girl dog and I stayed here for 4 nights. Upon our first night of checking in, we were greeted by a friendly employee behind the counter, Sydney. We had our room on the first floor and the room was pretty spacious that had a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, sink, sponge and mini dish soap. There was a sticker on the dishwasher that says the dishes are ready to use in there but when we pulled out a plate, it had food on it. I would highly recommend washing whatever dishes and utensils you pull out of here. Inside the shower is a shower gel and shampoo dispenser, which is nice. But there is no conditioner dispenser. There is a small bottle of condition on the bathroom sink counter, next to the small box of bar soap. Complementary hot breakfast is served between 6:30- 9:30 daily. I think this is where our experience was a bit lacking with the breakfast, as it was the same food items offered every day with no added variety. The food items available for breakfast included Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage, egg and cheese croissant sandwich, egg omelet with cheese, egg omelet with bell peppers and ham, bananas, oranges, green apples, cold cereal, oatmeal, non fat and low fat milk, non fat Greek yogurt and regular yogurt, make your own waffle, cold hard boiled eggs, white bread and bagels (with the ability to toast it and also provided with butter, jam, etc). I was hoping to see scrambled eggs, bacon/ sausage, etc. But it was still good enough for each morning. The gym (open 24 hours) was nice that had 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, 1 bike cycle. There are also free weights and a machine that is multitask to allow one to do chest press, bicep curls, etc. There are 2 large flat screen TVs. There is also a water dispenser, a weight scale and plenty of sanitizing wipes available in the dispenser. Disposable headphones are available at the front desk for free upon request. The gym was clean on the days I used it (yes I am one of those people who like to exercise while on vacation) and the air condition was great to help cool me down during my workout. We were told that housekeeping was available upon request. We did not request for any while we were staying here. But I did see a sticker on the bathroom mirror that did say that they do housekeeping on the 5th day (but you can always request not to if you don't want it). With this hotel being dog friendly, there is plenty of grass available for your pet to relieve themselves and also a poop bag dispenser that was always full. Overall, I had a great stay here and would consider staying here again the next time visiting Bloomington.

The least stained mattress of two rooms

This property needs to invest in full-zip allergy covers. I checked into my initial room (I had chosen the room on the app before arriving as the only room left on a high floor). When I did my standard mattress check, I found massive stains on both of them. I went to the front desk and the girl apologized, checked on another room for me and then told me I could have the new room. I'm guessing she didn't check the mattress (even after I showed her the pics) or she didn't think she could do anything about it, because she never mentioned anything and again I found stains, also wood chips???? I went back to the front desk and the young man who was night manager is a little green and didn't understand that it was less important to explain (how the hotel cleans but doesn't pitch out the mattresses until their life expectancy is over) or justify (the budget would have to change somehow) but that the customer really just wants a solution. Overall displeased with the condition of the property and the service.

Stayed at Home2 Suites while at Indiana University for a recruiting event with my company. Upon entering the property my colleagues and I were greeted by the friendly two employees working guest check-in. Their warm welcome and light conversation with us instantly made me like this hotel. The location of the hotel seems to be surrounded by student housing which can be good or bad depending on your preference. I'd rather be closer to the bars personally, but that's just me. The football stadium is super close so if you were to come for a game I'd definitely recommend you stay here. My king room is very spacious...love seat, long desk with ample storage space for your clothes, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and one of the most comfortable beds and bedding that I have ever had the pleasure of laying on. Clean, clean, clean! Round of applause to the cleaning crew at this establish. From the lobby, to the common areas to my room; everything was clean and in its place. They have a 24 hour gym, which I took full advantage of. While it was small wasn't a top notch gym like some hotels have, it had all the necessary equipments to get a good workout in. *Staff - 5 stars *Location - 3.5 stars (since it's on campus), but 5 stars if you coming for a football game and want to be close to the stadium *Room - 5 stars *Cleanliness - 5 stars *Gym - 4 *Complimentary Breakfast - did not experience *Note - this hotel is pet friendly

It's very nice. It opened mid-2018, so right now, everything is new and fresh. I like the Home2 setup: kind of European styled (think Microtel) but larger. The furnishings are fresh and modern, like it's all from IKEA. Breakfast is a little different - much of the hot food is pre-packaged, like egg/meat sandwiches. But they also have cold cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, and breads/toasters, plus some waffle makers. (My egg/sausage bagel in a microwave bag was ok, but a littler has-stationy.) The staff is professional and courteous. There's a workout room and a business center. Location is great - walkable distance to good restaurants. And if you're attending an IU game, you're a reasonable walking distance from the stadium and basketball arena.

The eggs and biscuits & gravy were especially good--fresh, hot, and actually flavorful, which you don't always get with hotel breakfasts. The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but there were a couple of comfort issues. It tended to run a bit warm, and the thermostat didn't seem to cool down to the temperature we set. The air also felt pretty dry overnight. We had an accessible (handicap) shower, and while it was easy to use, it left about half of the bathroom floor soaked after each shower. That made the floor very slick, which was a bit of a safety concern. We also liked that the hotel had a pool, which is always a nice perk, but it was pretty small. Overall, a nice stay with great amenities and breakfast, but a few room comfort and bathroom design issues that could be improved.

Small food store in the front that was very reasonably priced. Rooms were clean, bright and well appointed. Didn't use room service but it was very clean and well dressed. Breakfast setup is typical for the chain and well stocked. Attendants did a great job every day that I was there and they were always cheerful. One drawback is that the gym is very limited. There is enough to get in a workout but the cardio gear is very dated. Overall, solid experience and I recommend this location for a short or long stay.

Booked a room weeks in advance and it took them about 3 hours to clean the room before we could check in. Had to sit in the lobby and was offered a single water bottle as an apology. Front desk called me up multiple times just to tell me they were confused by the information the cleaning staff was giving them and was unsure if the cleaning process was even close to done. Mind you this wait was longer than my actual flight to Bloomington drives included. Pretty unacceptable even on short notice which is not the case here.

It is right in town, close to many restaurants/bars/shopping. Which means bar hopping with no need for a DD or Uber. The entrance to the parking of this hotel is via an alley. The turn into the parking ramp is tight, so it isn't great for an inexperienced driver or someone with an extra-large vehicle. The hotel staff was nice enough. Nothing extraordinary. Our room was clean enough with an underwhelming view, but this wasn't important to us. The bathroom had mismatched hand towels hanging, might be a huge trigger for someone with OCD. The fact that one of the washcloths hanging had stains was a trigger for me. I really don't want to be reminded of the fact that random strangers have used the towels before me. The biggest thing was returning to the room late and trying to find bath towels to be sure we wouldn't have to call down in the morning. There is a huge shelf under the sink. Not there. Not hanging. Could not see them. Called down to the front desk and let them know we did not have any bath towels. He advised to look in the rack in the shower. From his answer, I knew that he must get these calls all the time. There they were. I had my husband go into the bathroom and try and find them. It's like smelling something bad and having someone else smell it to prove your sanity. He couldn't see them. The other couple with us said they couldn't find them in their room either, so they had resigned themselves to using hand towels until one of them found them turning on the shower. Why not just put at least two towels on the visible shelf under the sink? You could avoid answering all those calls. The bed. Well, I didn't sleep much. I don't usually sleep well the first night in a hotel, but this bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. The next day, I kept wondering why my back was sore. I know why. Anyway, this is an adequate place to stay. Lots of room with the pull out sofa if you need it. We had a "cleaned by" type envelope to leave the housekeeper a tip. She signed it in purple ink and the letter i was dotted with hearts, so cute. I am not sure, but they may have middle schoolers cleaning the rooms. I kind of like the envelope for tips. I always feel weird just leaving money on the bed. I could see guests thinking it was tacky, but those are probably the guests that don't leave a tip anyway.

The most frustrating part wasn't even the tow--it was the complete lack of help from the hotel. I was essentially handed the tow company's phone number and told to figure it out myself. I had to repeatedly push for management involvement and ask the hotel to contact the tow company directly because I couldn't get answers on my own. Afterward, getting follow-up information was just as difficult. Emails went unanswered, I had to repeatedly request updates, and it took multiple follow-ups just to obtain basic information about my case. What really stood out was that the tow company owner ultimately showed more accountability than the hotel. He reviewed the situation, acknowledged how the misunderstanding could have happened, and refunded the tow fee. Meanwhile, the hotel's position was essentially that it wasn't their problem. I understand that mistakes happen. What disappointed me was the lack of communication, ownership, and concern for a guest dealing with a stressful situation while traveling with young children.
