Stayed here recently and overall had a solid experience. The hotel feels modern and well-kept, and the breakfast was definitely above average compared to most places. The eggs and biscuits & gravy were especially good--fresh, hot, and actually flavorful, which you don't always get with hotel breakfasts. The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but there were a couple of comfort issues. It tended to run a bit warm, and the thermostat didn't seem to cool down to the temperature we set. The air also felt pretty dry overnight. We had an accessible (handicap) shower, and while it was easy to use, it left about half of the bathroom floor soaked after each shower. That made the floor very slick, which was a bit of a safety concern. We also liked that the hotel had a pool, which is always a nice perk, but it was pretty small. Overall, a nice stay with great amenities and breakfast, but a few room comfort and bathroom design issues that could be improved. read more

This is a very nice hotel in downtown Bloomington. Easy to walk to amazing shops and restaurants. Bars all around. It's a college town. Hotel was clean and well kept. Small food store in the front that was very reasonably priced. Rooms were clean, bright and well appointed. Didn't use room service but it was very clean and well dressed. Breakfast setup is typical for the chain and well stocked. Attendants did a great job every day that I was there and they were always cheerful. One drawback is that the gym is very limited. There is enough to get in a workout but the cardio gear is very dated. Overall, solid experience and I recommend this location for a short or long stay. read more

The hotel is located down a narrow alley--technically, a street--with a parking garage underneath. The room was smallish but is still a "suite" because it has a small sitting area. A continental breakfast is included with your stay. The location is decent. It's about a five minute drive to the main downtown area and maybe 10 minutes to the university. I chose this hotel based on other reviews and the location is great. I think this hotel was 'the place' when it was new 10 years ago. While it's still nice, it is getting a little run down. We checked-in on a Friday night. The person working the front desk was friendly, but super busy. I checked in via the app ahead of time, so our check in process was quicker and we really only needed to pick up room cards. Honesty, the woman should have had someone working with her at 10pm. For safety reasons, but also because she had a lot going on. While we were getting in the elevator I noticed the counter area was just littered with stuff. I've always known hotel check is desks to be tidy, but this was not. Upon getting off the elevator on the 2nd floor I noticed a stench that made me think a trash can needed to be taken out. Fish? Ick. There was a can near the ice maker and I think it was the culprit. Our room was comfortable, but aging. We appreciated the couch, desk area and mini fridge. We only stayed 2 nights, but it would have been fine for longer. The room was quiet except for the occasional door closing next door. The next morning we went to leave for the day and noticed that the hallway was so stuffy and humid. I wondered if they turn their ac up or off at night. I felt bad for housekeeping because it was a tad uncomfortable.. and the smell from the night before was still there = gross. Parking at $15/night in the underground garage was fine with us. (This gets added on your bill.) The lower levee of the parking garage is kinda of nasty. Trash can near the elevator lobby was so full that people were piling trash next to it. The hotel appears to dump their old lobby furniture and gym equipment down here, too. There was trash strewn about the parking garage. Not a pleasant sight. I was waiting for rats or mice to run by. Overall, I think we would stay here again. The price was fair. I'm just a stickler with cleanliness and tidiness and I think they miss the mark here - at least in some of the very public spots. My husband had breakfast both days and seemed pleased. We never checked out the bar. Maybe next time. Recommend. read more

Really enjoyed my stay at SpringHill Suites Bloomington. Location: the hotel is located in downtown Bloomington. It was a short walk to the restaurants on Kirkwood and about a fifteen minute walk to the Sample Gates. Rooms: Our room was quite nice. It was clean and comfortable enough. Most importantly it was bed bug free (we checked). My husband also enjoyed the shower. Parking: garage parking is available for $12/day. You can also try street parking but I personally don't think it's worth the hassle. Check in was seamless, the hotel has other amenities that we didn't experience (free breakfast, pool, exercise room). I would stay at this hotel again. read more

This was my home for a week while we were in Bloomington. It's a really good location and very centrally located to many things around town. We had some issues with parking (our fault because we didn't realize we could get in and out with the keycard) but it's actually quite nice to have covered parking especially considering it was snowing out. Really enjoyed the breakfast that was included with your stay. They had a good variety of items and most of the choices were pretty healthy. The rooms were nicely set up and very clean. For whatever reason, we ended up with an ADA compliant room. I am not complaining because there was 3 of us in the room for part of the week so having the extra space was very nice. They had complimentary Chupa Chups!! I kept passing by the front desk and taking some. I think I grabbed every flavor possible. It was pretty awesome. They also put out random snacks (chips) for guests at the front desk so that was awesome too. I really enjoyed the little bar downstairs as well. The bartenders were awesome and the drinks were not skimpy. read more

This overnight experience was on point from the minute my feet hit the doormat. The location? Conveniently located within walking distance to the B-Line trail, the "square," and even the IU football stadium. The service? Impeccable, professional, and friendly. The space? Modern, clean, bright, and spacious. My room had two plush, luxurious queen beds fit for royalty with four marvelous pillows to rest my head on. The water pressure in the shower was fabulous. I liked the small "living room" set-up with an L-shaped couch and desk that had a fogged glass mirror to pull back for privacy from the bedroom area. TV is in an awk location for the room, though. Also, great free continental breakfast with waffles, hot Irish oatmeal + toppings, yogurt, soy milk, fruit, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy...you get the picture. My daughter is still deciding on whether or not to attend the UI, but if she does, this will be my go to hotel. It was clean, easy to find, in a great location and everyone there was beyond friendly. A really incredible hotel. I am a touring musician and safe, clean hotels close to the venue are a veritable gold mine. This hotel was a four minute walk from my venue, close to downtown shops, restaurants and venues. It is a newer building with an exceptional lobby and staff. I was greeted by Josh, who gave me some lemon infused water and enthusiastically informed me that in honor of "national margarita day" the hotel bar had them on special. My room was on the 5th floor, the elevators are clean and quick - connecting the parking garage to the fifth floor making for easy load in/out. The bathroom had Paul Mitchell products. Beds were super comfy and room very quiet. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. I spent 2 hours in the gym and pool, complete with yoga mats and complimentary water. I highly recommend this hotel for one or many nights. Thank you for the accommodations, work out and great night's rest. read more

The inside 3-level parking for $10 is convenient and gives you direct access to the lobby. The reception staff were friendly and check-in process fast. The newer decor and fresh colors of the interior are welcoming. Newer styling is refreshing. We really wanted to like this hotel based on the reviews and our mediocre experience at Hyatt. Unfortunately, the springy bed was uncomfortable and the pillows didn't have support despite all night wrestling with them. Also, the light shining brightly under the entry door into 1/2" opening was so distracting that we had to block it with 3 pillows to be able to fall asleep. The room was quiet, and compared to the Hyatt, didn't have the roll on shades which allowed more light entering the room day/night when fully closed. The really uncomfortable bed and pillows make it hard to recommend this hotel. The decor and the service alone earned it 3 stars. read more

Watch out for the $12 parking charge even when you don't park a car here. According to their staff, they automatically add this for every guest who checks in. It shows up as a surprise and then you have to call them to remove it after it hits your credit card. It's a total shocker that a Marriott property would conduct such an unethical dishonest practice rather than ask guests if they have parked at the property when they check in. (Especially when free overnight street parking is available right outside.) I've stayed here twice and was never asked at check in whether or not I parked at the property. read more

Clean, modern, and with all the amenities you need. Our room was spacious with a small office/living room area separated from the sleeping area. The bathroom was open and bright and incredibly clean. The biggest surprise was the free continental breakfast, which included fresh strawberries and pineapple, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, almond milk (chocolate and vanilla), yoghurt, fresh spinach, salsa, pastries, and the standard waffle maker and juice machine. Terrific experience during my weekend in Bloomington. The hotel is just a short walk from City Hall, the farmer's market, and the main thoroughfare. The hotel features a bar, a wonderful continental breakfast, and a convenience store; something to meet all my nourishment needs. The gym, pool, and laundry facilities, were clean and new-looking. The rooms were similarly updated, and completely immaculate. All employees were quick to offer assistance, even offering me a razor after I'd left mine at home. Even late at night, desk clerks showed courtesy and effective service. At the end of my stay, I was able to order a shuttle to the Indianapolis airport pick me up right at the front door of the hotel. So easy! I had a wonderful time in Bloomington and I hope to visit again someday. The SpringHill Suites will be the first place I check to book. Thanks! read more

Stayed here during a recent business trip. I found the appointment of the room to be most pleasing. From the executive desk (used immediately and often) to the large bathroom, large walk-in closet, microwave, coffee maker and mini-refrigerator, it was everything I needed. The sheets were clean and crisp and the complementary breakfast was great (wish they had had turkey bacon or turkey sausage, not just pork), but the eggs and fruit hit the spot. Parking was $10 for overnight guests. They had a bar in the lobby that was open from 5-10 pm. I did not go to it as I had work to do, but it looked nice. Probably a great place to gather. Had to come down to Bloomington for a funeral and got a good rate through Marriott Rewards. This is a very nice hotel in downtown that is within walking distance of everything that is going on here. The hotel is only three years old and it shows compared to other Springhill Suites that I have stayed at previously. The hotel and rooms are very modern. We are staying in a two queen, sofabed suite and it is very spacious. The use of the sliding door in the bathroom and the walk-in closet are nice touches. The beds are a little hard which bothered my wife but I slept comfortably. Also, the door for the bathroom has a glass panel which allows the light the light in the bathroom to illuminate the room in the middle of the night which our daughter did to us. These are small things though. The lobby is very nice with a bar. I saw many guests congregating there last night as we passed through. The space is very open and inviting. The breakfast area is behind the bar and it is very nice. Most hotels have there breakfast area in a small, cramped space but not here. The area allows guests to get their food without feeling like they are on top of one another. This good because the food is excellent. The staff here is also very friendly and professional. Josh, the young gentleman who checked us in last night, was a pure delight. All the staff have been great. Asking how the room was, if we were enjoying our stay, adding that extra little touch. They even have students from the university studying Tourism and Hospitality working here. A great experience for them. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if your are in the Bloomington area. read more

We stayed here for the past couple of nights during a college visit at Indiana University and this was a great hotel for the trip. The customer service was first class, which is way up on my list of priorities. I think the hotel has a great look. Very clean, bright and inviting. Our room was clean and it was very quiet (no noisy or roudy neighbors). It costs an extra $10 per day to park, but it is worth it. Parking underneath the hotel is well lit and it was easy to get in and out of the hotel. What I loved! The breakfast each day was REALLY good! They served a couple of egg choices, sausage, bacon. My 17 year old made a beautiful Belgian waffle. Lots of healthy choices as well. A nice variety of fruits, yogurts, cereals and for those who love bread, there were several choices there as well. The food was hot and fresh both days we were there. Oh and the coffee (Seattle's Best) was piping hot each morning with a smooth flavor. Why didn't I give that last star? I wish their suites were bigger. My wife and I were there with our high school junior to visit IU. We had the suite with the king size bed and a couch with a pull out bed so we could give our son some space. While the room was very clean, it was pretty cramped. Now had this been a visit for just my wife and me, this would not have been an issue. On the upside, the water pressure was fabulous in the bathroom! Overall a great stay though, and I would definitely recommend this hotel! read more

My stay itself was entirely satisfactory with the staff being helpful and responsive. The room was comfortable, quiet, and up to date. However, the room was booked five days ahead of time through a third party reservationcounter.com which did NOT explain that there was NO cancellation. I made the reservation and upon hearing that the reservation was non refundable, tried (immediately on the same phone call) to cancel the reservation, was told it was not possible. I appealed through three levels of management and was told the same answer. Marriott did not acknowledge the reservation as their own and therefore did not back up with their cancellation policy. This brings the Marriott organization down as well. It is highly recommended that one does NOT book through reservationcounter.com. read more

We were attending a track meet at IU and found this to be the perfect place for us. Close to IU? Check. (even walk-able for a football game) Close to Downtown Bloomington for bars and restaurants? Check. Clean hotel with great service? Check. Free breakfast that is actually edible? Check. Even with the place sold out and full of youth track teams, the noise level was never loud, there was never anything "empty" at the breakfast buffet and parking was always available (park in the outside part - it's actually closer to the lobby). Every employee we encountered was helpful, friendly and had a smile. Not sure if I'll ever be back to Bloomington but if I do, I know where I'll be staying! read more

The Room Service (mostly maid service) was decent but one day it was quite terrible. Overall my stay was just fine. Tv didn't work and they overbooked the pool. My 3 children were highly disappointed as we waited 20 hours to go and couldn't.

It's not often you find a hotel you are 1000% satisfied with and know you will definitely stay again in the future! The SpringHill was everything and more we needed for a one night stay. How awesome is it to get a living space in your room these days?! The service from staff was prompt and accurate, as well as friendly and kind. This is the only hotel I'm interested in staying at in Bloomington. It's so freaking nice!! I find the location to be great. Very much within walking distance of the center of town, but far enough away that it's fairly quiet outside. The front desk people are as friendly as friendly gets -- they seem to genuinely like working there. It also doesn't hurt my mood that they have a huge bowl of Chupa Chup lollipops at the front desk for you to choose from while you wait to check in. The rooms are another part of what keeps me coming back. They are fairly spacious (which makes sense because they're suites) and they are so clean! It's a newer hotel, so that lends itself to the cleanliness, but they appear to be keeping up with things nicely. The decor around the hotel is really well done as well. Everything is white, shiny, and modern. Kind of European hotel meets HGTV in style. I happen to really like it. And the beds are pretty comfortable, too! Definitely THE place to stay on your next visit to Bloomington. read more

I'm a Marriott veteran, having stayed at everything from the top places in resort cities to the little category 3 places in suburbs. As spring hill suites go, this leaves nothing to be desired. I got a gorgeous room with a sofa, nice desk, and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast is included and was really just fine. I usually beat up hotels for their fake commitment to the environment. These folks didn't change my sheets or towels during my 2-night stay--which is exactly right and what I want. They had free coffee in ceramic mugs, not plastic-wrapped plastic cups. The thermostat worked. The bed was comfy and clean. The pillows were nice. I had a fridge, microwave, and ironing board. Everything I needed. The staff were really friendly, which is funny to someone who lives in Europe. It's the classic American stereotype of being genuinely and overtly friendly and helpful. But this is America and that's how it ought to be. Its a short walk to my Bloomington office. I'll very likely stay here again. I wish the parking didn't cost money, but T's a downtown location. I suppose that's inevitable. read more

Nice place to stay in a good location. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, although I do wish housekeeping used a vacuum a bit more during my stay. The free breakfast was good, scrambled, eggs, bacon or sausage, yogurt, fruit, bread, etc etc. The coffee was especially good, which I really appreciated in the AM. It was always promptly ready at 6:30, which was good because I had an early start each day. Plenty of covered parking as well. Nicely priced too. read more

We recently stayed here for my son's wedding. We received excellent service. I wish it weren't raining so we could take advantage of the bikes they have available to guests. The room was spacious. The closet was a regular walk-in closet. I've never seen that in a hotel. About the only downside was the bathroom door. Although it is beautiful with the frosted glass, it can be a problem if you are staying with others and need to turn on the bathroom light during the night. It lights up the hotel room as well. Due to covid-19 the breakfast is limited. We were able to pick up pre-wrapped bagels, donuts, and cereal from the front desk. Currently if you want to use the pool or work out room, it's by appointment only. The best part about this place is the staff. They were all so friendly and accomodating. read more

One of the best hotels that I've stayed in. The staff is super outgoing, the breakfast is great, the furniture in the lobby (RH!) is super comfortable and the rooms are outstanding (new and clean). I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The location is quite central as well. The only comment I'd leave is that the parking garage can get full and it's not an easy one to navigate. If it is full, there should be a display that notifies entrants. read more
