I spent 12 hours driving a 14 foot U-haul with my car trailing behind it in the pouring rain. When I arrived at the hotel there was no parking that my vehicle(s) could fit into so I had to park at the daycare next door. When I walked into the lobby there was a line of people waiting to be checked in. Behind the counter was one woman who clearly had worked there a while and a girl in training. By the time it was my turn, I was cranky. Despite my grouchy, short tempered disposition, the two women were both patient and helpful. They assured me that I could park in the other lot and got me checked in promptly. I suspect they upgraded me to the handicapped room because it was more spacious and they could tell I was a potential complainer. Even after being grouchy on the phone after calling twice to get the wifi password, they were polite. The hotel was fairly new, the room very clean, the bed comfy and smelling of fresh linens. I thought about going for a swim but the pool was small and crowded. The complimentary breakfast was what you would expect; bagels, pastries, hot and cold cereal and the now customary make your own waffle. I am happy I paid what I did to stay there and would gladly return. read more

Excellent experience here. Room was fantastic. WiFi worked great. Staff was very friendly and efficient. The only downside was breakfast. The eggs and Turkey sausage were icky. Stick to the sealed stuff, bakery items, and fruit and you're good. read more

Six people in my family stayed here over the weekend and the staff was excellent. In particular, the GM Ebony and Manager Renee. We travelled with our 75 yr. young aunt who needed special attention from the car to the lobby to the room and eventually to her final destination the train station. The staff treated my aunt like she was their very own family member. My aunt Sue was visiting from Las Vegas then traveling to New York and this hotel treat all of us very well. The coffee in the morning was hot and breakfast was good. I must say that we did not expect such a warm welcome and excellent atmosphere from a hotel with such competitive pricing. I can see why business travelers like this place. This Fairfield proves to me that if you take care of the basics like having a super clean room, fair complementary breakfast and a super polite staff that people will continue to support this place. We were visiting Baltimore to see friends after a funeral, and I took quite ill one day into our - supposed to be - 2-day stay. So, instead of the 2 days we were booked to stay, we ended up 6 days at the hotel with me in bed and quite ill. Luckily, this Fairfield is close to EVERYTHING! I needed OJ and chicken broth, right across the street was a Safeway. There was a plethora of eateries and stores that my husband could acquire what we needed. The room was as we asked upon arrival (we don't like hotel pillows and they were removed), extra towels we stocked, and the room was quite clean and comfortable. The hotel is also close to DC and Baltimore, and the price was fantastic for a large city. But the front desk personnel, particularly Jennifer, were all attentive, professional and friendly. So, a stay that was supposed to be full of fun and frolic with friends turned into a 6-day stay with me being ill BUT comfortable. My only complaint was the airplane noise, but when you stay at an airport hotel, what can you expect? Silent planes! Thank you, Marriott for making a horrid situation much better read more

I stayed there the women staff were just rude, and short. I had asked about the coffee the clerk had a attitude about having to show me where the cream to the coffee was. I waited for the shuttle to go to the airport and another clerk smacked her lips at me when I asked how long it usually takes for shuttles. read more

We got there on a Sunday and we were just staying the night. I thought the outside looked fine and the inside hall did. The pool was clean and the lifeguard was there; it was a little awkward because we were the only one. However, everything went down as soon as we entered the room. The sheets were gross and didn't look like they had been changed. The shower was covered in grim. We asked for a different room because it was gross. However we got to the next room and it was even worse because it wasn't made up and had trash everywhere. The lady downstairs was not very nice and didn't once say sorry which should of been the first thing. She ignored my mom that kept asking for a manager. We got our 3rd room and everything looked better. My mom fell on the floor from water on the carpet. We soaked it up and it was brown and gross which is really gross. We had no clue what it happened. It was gross and no one seemed to care also the manager has refused to talk to us. read more

I checked into the Fairfield Inn & Suites (BWI) on November 6. There was nothing wrong with the room itself - it was clean. With that said, this was still one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I checked in around 5:00 PM and things were fine until 8:00 PM, when a family checked into the suite above me. For the next six hours, I heard constant stomping/running as well as pounding and a general ruckus above me. The walls and floors are thin and you can hear everything. There were even young kids running up and down the hallways on multiple floors "playing tag." My suite was next to an exit door, so the doors kept slamming as well. I reported these disturbances to the front desk and asked to move rooms, but they said they were sold out for the night. They then said they would call the room above me and ask them to quiet down. I asked what they'd do if the noise continued. The front desk staff said, "We'll ask them to leave if it continues." However, the incessant noise and stomping back and forth in the suite above me continued until 2:00 AM. I tried calling the front desk 6 different times once I was in bed, but they never answered. Not once! I had a 3:00 AM wake-up call the following morning for an early flight, so needless to say, it was a miserable night. If sleep is important to you, I don't recommend staying at this hotel. I know I will never go back. read more

I made a reservation at the last minute due to a snowstorm. I also managed to get a friends and family rate, so I knew my room had to be somewhere close to the elevator. Upon check-in I noticed it was busy as there was only one person in front of me but numerous behind me. As I was waiting a gentleman came down and told the front desk that his room was not made up. So they gave him another room. I checked in and got my room number. I came upstairs and when I walked in the first thing I noticed was a used pillowcase behind the door. I carefully picked it up and put it in the hallway next to the wall. I found the light switches and turn them on and noticed the beds were made and the room is rather large. I walk into the bathroom and noticed that the bathroom countertop is not clean. There are marks and white residue on the front, and marks that look like somebody wiped up toothpaste with a piece of toilet paper on the top. I decide to carefully check everything else, and noticed a white sticky substance on the handle to the shower door and on the handle inside the shower itself. Also the nozzle of the shower (where you turn for hot and cold) did not look like it had been wiped down. I then look at the carpet in the bed area and it looks as if as not been vacuumed in a week! Pieces of chips, candy wrappers, and a used bobby pin graced the floor. So, I called and requested a vacuum and a cleaning of the bathroom. Then, I go to turn on the tv and no remote. So, called again. Five minutes later a man came up and had a remote and vacuum and asked me to go over what needed to be done. He asked me if I wanted to switch rooms, but I told him I overheard the front desk tell a customer behind me, at check in, they only had suites left. Besides, it is just me for one night and all I want is a clean bathroom, floor and clean sheets (which seem to be). They look very busy but it does not explain the consistent lack of vacuuming and a simple wipe down of counters! I will be complaining to the manager in the morning. read more

Pros: Excellent staff, clean rooms, nice building, good area Cons: Had some trouble with one of the cleaning staff I stayed at this hotel for about a week and a half at the end of September, 2016. I had been relocated to Baltimore by my employer, and I needed a place to stay while finding an apartment and waiting for my stuff to be delivered. I was referred here when another hotel was full. My experience while staying here was outstanding for the most part. We started out with a problem; my reservation wasn't for the type of room I actually wanted. I asked them to fix it, and they did so with no problem. The staff were receptive to our needs the entire stay, and they even found time to laugh and joke with me when I happened by the front desk. They told me some information about living in Maryland and even helped me locate businesses once or twice, which was welcome since I was new to the area. The manager approached me from time to time asking if my stay was going well. When it came time to check out, one of the ladies at the front desk told me about the rewards program and signed me up, crediting me for the stay in the process. The hotel facilities are modern and well maintained for the most part. The beds are comfortable. the rooms come with flat screen TV's and standard cable. The free Wi-Fi is a bit slow and they ask you to pay for faster speeds, but that's not uncommon in hotels these days. It's free, so I can't complain. We never had any problem finding parking the entire time we were there. The hotel stay includes free breakfast, and it's a pretty good spread honestly. I only had one issue during my stay. One of the cleaning staff tried to get out of cleaning when she could, and she took one of the other lady's tip cards and replaced it with hers. (We'd set it some place other than the standard place they are left because we wanted to keep it.) I'm not going to take off a star for this because the front desk staff addressed it when we brought it to their attention. read more

The value is excellent! As a Marriott Rewards Platinum member, I am almost as comfortable here that in most Marriott hotels. I was upgraded to a one bedroom king suite but the amenities and space is what I needed. The desk is movable, internet speed fast, bathroom sink counter space is spacious, shower is glass and large, clean, and the workout room is not bad at all. I don't normally write reviews on Yelp, however, an especially bad or good experience provides me with motivation to share it. I made reservations at this hotel because my preferred hotel in this area was fully booked, and because I've had good experiences with this chain during stays at other locations. This hotel is new and makes a good first impression, and the front desk staff seems nice enough, but that's where the similarity to other hotels within the chain stops. The house keeping seems rushed and doesn't maintain a consistent standard expected from this hotel chain. Here's a quick sample of the house keeping my room experienced: one day the room wasn't cleaned until after 4pm and then the bed wasn't made up. The next day the towel used for showers wasn't replaced, and after that the coffee, cups, and towels were not replaced. Save yourself the trouble and stay in one of the other nearby hotels that maintains better cleaning standards and has a breakfast service that starts prior to 6:30 am. read more

My stay was brief, only one night, but I was definitely satisfied. The hotel is just minutes away from BWI. I arrived very late and check in was a breeze. The room was clean and comfy. The bed was a bit on the firm side but not uncomfortable. Due to an allergy I requested in advance no down feathers and my request was honored. On one of the queen beds I noticed the sheets had pilling which typically indicates very poor quality. Luckily I had two queen beds so I just slept in the other bed where the sheets were as I expected with no pilling. In the morning there was plenty of hot water for my shower and a large walk in shower, which I prefer over a small tub with shower. I loved the free WiFi and free parking. Free breakfast was included. It was edible and a great convenience but I would give the breakfast 3 out of 5 stars. The carpets in the hallway could probably use a good steam cleaning but it wasn't bad enough to be off putting. Downstairs there is 24 hr free coffee and tea, which is a nice offering. The desk staff was friendly and courteous and check out was a breeze as well. All in all, based on my brief stay, I would recommend this hotel and stay there again. read more

I booked to stay here with my family for a weekend getaway. Once arrived...we were handed the keys...when we got to the room the door was unlocked..cracked open...as we walked in we found poop stains on the toilet and socks under the radiator. We called the front desk and were given another room. The second night.... The shower would not shut off when it was turned on. The clerk came up and said she needed to call maintenance.. Half hour later he arrived...he turned the shower off with tool and said it couldn't be turned back on. My husband and son then have to go to a different floor to take a shower due to the issues we were dealing with. We were then offered a lousy 50 dollar discount, once I voiced my concerns..we were given 1free night but had to pay for the other night which didn't thrill me. I believe great customer service should have comp both nights. Needless to say this will be our last visit here...you get what you pay for in the end. read more
