This is a brand new hotel, located EXTREMELY close to the 99 Northbound on and off ramps. It's a little hard to find in you are coming from the north or trying to get south after your stay, but it's super easy. The single most amazing thing about the hotel is that they manage to keep it smelling like sunshine and love... In Tulare! Tulare smells like it is home to over 300,000 cows... Not hating on cows, cheese or dairies, but cows, well, smell like cows. 4.5 stars! The decor is cheerful and modern and the staff is super nice. Rooms are spacious and they give you big fluffy pillows. The towels could be a little better (if Marriott is going to tattoo their name on the brand). There are tons of outlets for your cell phones and free wifi that's actually half decent. The breakfast bar has a waffle maker for fresh waffles, breakfast sandwiches that you nuke, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, toast, coffee, tea, etc. nice dining area and lobby. It looks like someone's uber cool living room. Love it. The hotel is located next to the outlet mall, near all sorts of commercial areas and conveniences. Location was perfect but the room I stayed 326 wasn't at all. TV kept on freezing every time when I changed the channels and I had to wait for awhile to reconnect! The bed was a night mare! This room had a king size bed. Every time one of us turned and tossed, mattress had really bad squeaking sounds we were awoken by the noise and couldn't have a goodnight sleep. That was terrible experience we had at this hotel.! After long hours on the road we wanted to rest watching TV and goodnight sleep. read more

I agree with Joy. They did NOT honor our reservation that we also confirmed prior, and gave us the same excuse about their computer malfunctioning and double booking everyone. If that was the case, they should have called or emailed the customers to let them know and not as we were checking in. We drove very far and were very tired and that was a big inconvenience to us. If you're a platinum member, you should be okay since they said they get priority. But for the rest of you... I'd go somewhere else. When we got to our room, our doorhandle came off! And we had a similar experience with the re-used towels. That's just disgusting. Who does that. read more

Clean and nice. Stayed here on the last night of a week-long road trip with my wife and two young children. I reserved a king suite and we had plenty of room even with the fold-out bed extended. The property had light occupancy and so it was very quiet. Friendly staff and a nice breakfast area with lots of room. First tip: Get an even numbered room, away from the 99 noise. Second tip: Walk over to Que Pasa for dinner and you won't be sorry (see my review). read more

This is your average valley Marriott. Rooms are decent, service is adequate. No fridge in the room. Beds are clean. Coffee pot is tiny and the breakfast is pretty meager but it'll do. Only saving grace is there are tons of good places to eat in the immediate area, and highway 99 is right in the backyard. Thankfully the highway noise doesn't permeate and become problematic for light sleepers. read more

My family and I stayed here on a business trip. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The room was clean and very well taken care of. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the breakfast staff We also were able to enjoy the pool as well. We stayed for a week and loved every minute of it. Please be aware that front desk clerk / manager Stephanie provides very unprofessional service. We booked a room with a king-size bed. The only room left was a handicap room with a queen-size bed. We were rerouted to two other hotels, which, according to Stephanie, did have king-size beds. Nothing about that was true! We drove 7 miles (15 mins) to reach the other hotel, which ended up being a former Country Inn or Comfort Inn. We were tired and eventually agreed to sleep in a room with queen size bed. Very disappointing. At least, we got a refund. Her service was just horrible. So horrible that it almost seemed intentional. read more

I've never stayed in a hotel with the least hospitality. Asked for a fridge. Said they didn't have an extra one. But then extorted me for more money to "upgrade" and funny how the upgrade had a fridge and microwave for the same amount of time I was going to stay. Didn't get greeted as a Marriott customer. There was ZERO accommodations. Worst customer service ever. Will never stay at any Fairfield Inn again. Especially this one. read more

As the first reviewer stated, it's a brand new hotel. The infrastructure is obviously going to be in good shape. Staff is polite enough, but I and my coworkers who were all assigned to separate rooms noticed that there was no shampoo in our rooms. What hotel doesn't supply their guests shampoo? The receptionist explained to me that the shampoo was on order, but to her credit, she managed to find a few extra bottles for us. It appeared, though, that in order to get the few bottles of shampoo that they had left, you had to ask for it. From a business perspective, they are essentially taking THEIR problem and making it YOUR problem, however pleasant they might be when asked about it; hence my hesitancy in giving them a 5 star rating. avoid this place, from our visit last week, problems encountered-computers down, had to leave credit card info on paper to check in, not sure if card locks would work, wrong password, torn wallpaper in halls and bathroom, hole in room wall form doorknob, toilet seat broken, shower curtain not long enough to reach top of tub, flooded floor, two remotes to work TV, cover missing to hold in battery, could not control volume, horrible veggie sausage for breakfast. toilet seat broken, wiggled when sitting...when reported to manager and Marriott they offered me 5000 points on an account I don't have, it takes 17,500 to get room there-their facts.stay at the Hampton, bettr rooms and guarantee, and no BS from corporate. I will advise as this progresses, for now, avoid the place, too many other places that are better, this place and manager are terrible! read more

Ok, I don't want to bore you, so I'll keep this as short as possible. First off, I booked through kayak and it said Fairfield Inn Visalia/Tulare and 2 miles to city center. THIS IS NOT IN VISALIA!!! It is in Tulare, a farm town, about 10 to 15 minutes away!!! which does not have the most pleasant of odors. Second, We stayed on the first floor, and were overwhelmed in the morning by a serious mildew smell. We tried to wish it away, but it was strong. We contacted Marriott customer care and they denied there was even a smell. Of course. Third, the pool was freezing cold and outdoors. Not even solar heated. No jacuzzi. Big bummer!!! Other hotels and the one in Visalia has an indoor pool and jacuzzi. Trust me, with a free breakfast and a newer look, I wanted to embrace this hotel. But after talking to customer service and getting emails from Marriott excusing everything and asking if I had a military discount???(I asked if they would give me a discount on the second night stay in VISALIA not TULARE and they mentioned AAA or military) I just have a real bad taste in my mouth now about Marriott. Rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was a small buffet with bagels, toast, fruit, eggs, and waffles. My only big complaint is the noise- I would recommend asking for a room that does not face the highway, as the traffic was pretty loud all night. Our stay at this Fairfield Inn was a quick one on our way to El Dorado, CA. When we arrived the employees were upbeat and accommodating. Our room on the first floor (as requested) was clean, comfortable (climate control worked excellently), and spacious. We had only one glitch and we didn't discover it until too late to have anything done about it. The remote for the TV only adjusted the volume. It wouldn't turn the TV on or off or change the channels. Apparently, the previous guest must have switched the settings. The complimentary breakfast was, as expected, nothing too special. Baked goods were dry, the sausage patties swimming in grease but, the people were nice and the coffee good. All in all a good visit and will definitively plan on staying here again on similar trips. read more

I came here on a Thursday night for work and my check in was quick, friendly and hassle free. I received a king size bed on the third floor for $99/night. The hotel is located right off the freeway, plenty of nearby parking (important as I am a female traveler, often traveling alone for work). The room is large, very clean and they have Direct TV so there's plenty to watch on tv. The gym is 24-7 and the breakfast starts at 6:00 a.m. The only complaint is that there is no microwave or fridge in the room. I would have given 5 stars if these amenities were available. For the price, friendly customer service and location, I will definitely stay here again. I stayed at the Fairfield location on Akers (which is okay), but this hotel is a better value. I'd like to add that you can definitely hear the traffic noise. I was on the 3rd floor on the odd room number side. I heard every truck/car/motorcycle that drove by. In town for a wedding and couldn't be more pleased with our stay. Front desk let us check 1/2 early. Room was spacious, very clean and nicely appointed. We had a quite night and in the morning had a very nice breakfast. We didn't use the spa or pool but they are available. Over all, highly recommend this hotel. read more

Here is what the suite entailed: 1.) Price- Very competitive with neighboring Hotels at $85. The Charter Inn was the cheapest for the King Suite at $65/night, being a Marriott member there were no rewards with the Charter. 2.) Room Size - King Size Suite - Equivalent to a small apartment. -King Size Bed, TV in Bedroom/Closet/ medium size 3 door dresser. -Refrigerator/Microwave -Living room: Small Couch that does pull out to a bed with tv / coffee table and a small desk/chair. -Bathroom:Shower good pressure and temperature range. Single sink Possible Improvements: DVD player with the room, such a simple amenity to add. 3.)Breakfast in the morning. Mediocre. There are healthy options such as hard boiled eggs a variety of cereal, bagel, muffins, and yogurt. I believe there was a waffle maker. Possible Improvements: Incorporating a hot scramble egg/beacon would do wonders for the breakfast. The breakfast was consistently served early. I usually was down around 5 and the food was displayed. Big Bonus because the Hampden down the street was rare to have the food ready by 6 although they had hot breakfast. 4.) Hospitality - Top Notch. Interacted with the room service/front desk almost daily. Everyone very professional. The biggest perk was the hotel did my laundry for a minimal fee and of course there was a tip for convenience. They hung everything all I had to do was tell them when I was ready!!! Overall a positive experience. read more

Stayed here for 3 weeks. The hotel is clean and most of the staff are very nice. The breakfast is set out early and very well prepared. The rooms are cleaned well and very relaxing. Some of the front desk staff could use some coaching but they get you checked in. The only complaint that keeps the rating at a 2 star is the wi fi is the worst I have used in a long time. For a new hotel one would think the wi fi would be update. A a rule of thumb Marriotts typically have lousy wi fi. Well this place is the worst of the worst. read more

I am a die hard Marriott person, but I will not be staying here again. My company had a room block there, during the World of Ag event. I came in on the last day of the event, and was staying 1 night. When I arrived at the hotel I noticed that the parking lot was basically empty (only 10 cars). Given my room rate was $519 a night, I decided to see what the online rate would have been if I booked day of as it looked like there was plenty of rooms (it would have been $195). When I checked in I asked if they could adjust my rate to match the online rate and I was told no because my room was part of a room block. Just shows how they are price gouging. As a marketing manager who has booked 100's of room blocks, I know that they could have adjusted. Their lose in the end... my company host 4 large events in the area per year with approximately 60 room nights per event. Looks like those will now go to one of the many other options available in the area. read more

The biggest complaint I have is that they do not have a hot tub. I chose this hotel over others in the area because it was new and they had a hot tub.
