Only stay here if you have children because they cannot destroy this place anymore and it's already been wrecked. Let me give you a little bit of a background I'm titanium for life with Marriott and I am also ambassador status this year... So what that means is I stay in a crap ton of hotels. If your kid takes a dump in the lobby, it will be an enhancement. During my stay I saw the same three dudes sitting around a table in the lobby area what they were doing there I have no idea. I'm convinced next door to me they were running a cat house Because of the sounds and men coming in and out of the room. Dude ..... You actually had to give me this room when it was a week before Christmas and the entire hotel was pretty much open? Check out the photos below!

Stained tub with no tub stopper

This hotel should be shut down. When we came the first room we were offered smelled bad of cleaning products. The second room did not smell but the bathroom was not clean. The tub was chipped and the shower head had calcium deposits. There was black dirt in the corner of the tub and floor. We complained to the desk and all they offered was to let us out of our three day reservation and only pay for one night. We were in town for my parents funeral and did not want to find a new hotel. We were stuck. The free breakfast in the morning was the worst.no coffee. No eggs no sausage. No juice. Bad bad bad. Apparently a tree trimming company was in town and they ate up all the food and the hotel was not able to replenish the breakfast. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. The hotel said to us that they were struggling to keep it going since covid. With one maid. That is why we had no maid service to our room. No trash no towels no soap no nothing. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have been staying in hotels for 60 years. This is the worst. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.!!!

Coming from Chicago over MLk weekend w our toddler because the indoor water parks around us raise their rates considerably during 3 day weekends. The reviews had us nervous but were unfounded; this is a nice midprice hotel for families looking for a small waterpark vacay. --Hotel guests get access to all areas except the large slides. I think the waterpark is weekends only? --towels are provided at waterpark but we brought hotel towels too bc they were busy and ran out. -- for our toddler the kiddie play area was enough, but as others have noted, that area's water is pretty chilly. We alternated her in the free swim pool which was quite warm, same as the lazy river. --- this is a kids hotel. Kids were running thru our hallway at midnight but thats what earplugs are for. --- waterpark opens at 8 am on sundays and i think was open till 9 sat night, serving food and even offering a bar! There's another bar in hotel lobby too, and church services there on sunday. -- the elevator and breakfast areas are sorta overrun constantly. I found the stairs handy and we had some breakfast foods we brought to supplement the paucity of fresh fruit ( they had apples). But these are realities and not complaints. --- our room had complimentary online youtube, hbo go streaming, and showtime streaming plus a broad cable package. Hbo streaming has lots of kids shows these days. The rioom was clean and seemed well designed for families, with a minifridge and pull out table. We'd recommend this place!

Hair on bed sheets from previous visitors

Nice rooms but they didn't clean the beds and I have had bad experiences with hotels before so I always check my beds before I lay down on them and I found hair underneath my pillows and scattered around on the bed sheets

One of the bed bugs (couldn't get a good picture because it was crawling). It was filled with blood.

The gentleman at the front desk was very understanding and accommodating, he let us use his Internet and printer and set us up in a room.

Oak Cove Resort - Lake Cora at dusk

I was invited to have dinner at the Oak Cove Resort and was thrilled to attend. Having lived in…read morethe Paw Paw/Lawton area for 30 years, I have driven by their sign, saw their ads, but literally had no clue what to expect. From the moment we pulled in and drove down the long drive towards the resort, I knew I was in for special evening. It felt like I had awaken in a different age and time. The lodge is over 100 years but beautifully maintained. Eating on the front enclosed porch was a delight and so peaceful to look at beautiful Lake Cora. My mind kept wandering to what this area was like back in the 1920s when there were 2 resorts on Lake Cora and a train that brought people from the Chicago area. What a magical time that must have been. Bob and Susan are delightful hosts. They love Oak Cove and it shows in all the lovingly details throughout. Antiques are plentiful in every room, old photos and newspaper clippings that have been framed are hung on the walls. It's like walking into a time capsule. Touring the Lodge I kept saying this is so cool, I love this, how adorable. Every room is unique and special. Dinner at Oak Cove Resort is amazing. Everything is prepared and cooked in their kitchen and a lot of the items are from scratch. We started the evening off with a salad from the most unique salad bar ever - an old antique bed, covered with a beautiful quilt, and topped with a glass panel that holds all the delicious salad fixings. The lettuce was very fresh, a huge amount of toppings to chose from, and lots of different dressings. Monday night is Roast Beef night and Bob serves up the tenderest roast beef that I have had. The slice was just perfect for me. Mashed potatoes with homemade gravy (no words can describe how delicious this is), and helping of peas, and dinner roll. You can also add a dollop or two of horseradish sauce. If that wasn't enough, dessert was a chocolate brownie with ice cream. I literally thought I was in heaven. On top of that the coffee was just how I like it. We then walked around the resort. The Funhouse, filled with old arcade machines, books, puzzles, card table, TV, and bar, would definitely be fun place to hang out. The in-ground pool was very clean and is a big. The beach area had Adirondack chairs set up to sit and relax. Individual cabins are scattered through the grounds, along with a huge area for kids to run and play. What a memorable evening. My next to-do is to book an evening or two at the Oak Cove and transport myself to another time where life seemed slower and simpler.

Take a step back in time and visit this amazing motel. Rob was amazing. He reached out to me to confirm my arrival time and checked in on me from time to time via text. The motel is quaint and peaceful. Located only a few minutes from downtown Douglas and Sagatauck, a perfect and relaxing, clean, pleasant place to stay. A few things to keep in mind, it is on eastern time zone, that's important if you're driving from the central time zone! Rob was gracious when I was running late to check in. A great place to relax and unwind after a busy day of play, shopping, or in my case working. Lounge by the amazing pool or gather with friends and family at the fire pit, or take a nap in the hammocks! If you're a golfer, it's only a few minutes from The Ravines, an Arnold Palmer designed golf course. I am looking forward to visiting again!

The worst part was the management- outwardly rude, arrogant, and abrasive towards guests. Very strange behavior from them, would not recommend. Hopefully new management will take over, bc with some good upkeep, and proper maintenance of the rooms, as well as just professional behavior from management they would do quite well. Would definitely not recommend- especially if you are traveling with children.

It's walking distance from the beach and the main strip. We parked our car when we arrived and never touched it all weekend. The hotel also provides bikes to rent but we found that most places are walking distance and the roads/paths are not very bike friendly. Check in was super simple. Our room was very clean and updated. I wish they had smart TVs to connect to Netflix but we didn't spend much time watching TV anyways so it wasn't a big issue. The restaurant did seemed to get a bit noisy at night which drifted up to our room. The breakfast baskets were a BIG hit! The frittatas tasted so good! The fruit cups were also so fresh. I tried the prosciutto croissant on our last day which hit the spot. The quality of food was top notch - just wish we were able to order more! I had an appointment at the spa as well during our stay. The spa staff is super friendly. I used the robe and spa slippers provided in our room and spent some time in the salt water pool and hot tub before my appointment.
