It's important people know this is a converted motel where the doors to the rooms open to the outside. Guest security at properties like this are poor. In addition the hotel is right next to the freeway, so expect road noise in your room. It's loud, so they give you ear plugs. As a platinum member I expect higher quality from a brand I trust. I could put up with some discomfort if the staff at least attempted to honor my requests, but instead they appear difficult; likely because they field complaints all day. Want the room you requested? As a Marriott Rewards Member with 50+ stays a year, this is by far the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at. The reviews consistently state that this feels like a Motel 6 with a Marriott brand and they are accurate, this is a motel. The hotel has an ironing board, flat screen tv, working desk, mini fridge, refrigerator and the sheets/towels are clean but the state of the hotel is really bad. The walls, carpet, curtains and bathroom are gross. The doors are outside and you will hear people walk by your room, in addition to the airplanes flying over the hotel and the cars from the freeway. If you need a cheap stay for less than 24 hours at a Marriott property with all the basics, this might be worth considering but I'd recommend staying elsewhere. I was quite shocked to see this had 3 overall stars on yelp to be honest as this is a very underwhelming Marriott property. read more

Great stay. WAY off the beaten path (smack dab in the middle of an industrial complex) but close to everything. Quiet. Clean. Staff was very helpful. My husband booked this room. He is not here yet but he is going to be surprised. We only stay at Marriott properties and this by far is the worse. It is basically a converted Motel 6. My uncle stays at a motel 6 and the rooms are nicer there. The doors are outside and people can just walk by your window. To go to breakfast you need to walk outside and around the corner guess I should be thankful it doesn't rain much in Southern California. I spent my night here last night and I have to say. When I check in. The staff was super nice and friendly. The room I had was 231 and even though it was a little small and from the outside it has a motel appearance but overall a good day. The bed were comfy the pillows were just right. Even though your right by the 10 freeway the noise did not bother me. The breakfast was good your usual waffles, eggs, sausages, fruits, juice, bagels etc. My overall stay for one night was pretty good. Another hotel I will be adding to my list of hotels that I like. read more

In life, you get what you pay for! We were in need of an inexpensive place to stay in the Rancho/Ontario area and found this place online. The price was right, but to say this is a poorly maintained motel, would be to understate the obvious. Yes, the sheets were clean and the bathroom area looked like it was clean, too. But the carpeting had crumbs from who ever rented the room previously and the front desk manager seem angry with the world and annoyed that we were using our Marriott Rewards. I really didn't understand her issue on that last point. So, if you are looking for cheap, in today and out the next day, then this might be your place. But for us, we'll pass. Sorry! read more

Most of my review is about things that the hotel can't change but made my stay uncomfortable. First off, the front desk staff were very kind and receptive! Asked if I had a preference on a floor which I did because this hotel is one where all the doors are open to the outside, not like any other Marriott I've stayed in where the rooms are inside like an apartment. And then...THE NOISE! My god this hotel is noisy, it's literally feet from the 10 freeway and to make it worse you can hear every single plane landing and taking off, i recommend ear plugs. I was travelling with a colleague who picked this hotel because it was a Marriott brand and cheap. It's cheap for a reason. First off this is a MOTEL, not a HOTEL... meaning entry into the rooms is from the outside. There was a knock on my door and I was actually scared to answer it... turned out it was a pizza guy... someone had given him the wrong room number. The rooms are reminiscent of Cops episode with a motel room bust. The design is straight out of the 70s and the furniture isn't far behind. The sink is outside the bathroom. The 'lounge' chair is a small vinyl one. The smell will take you back to that roadside motel you stayed at in 1989. The AC/heat unit is the manual type under the window. Mine made a noise every time it kicked on, which at first I thought was a horn on a police car outside. On the positive side, the towel animal was cute and the staff was nice. The staff are nice and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. But there are a few things that would make me think twice before staying at this Fairfield Inn again. Despite being very close to the airport, there is no hotel-provided shuttle. Also, the first floor rooms open directly to the parking lot. I prefer the security of interior hallways. On the plus side, the parking lot was well lit and I was able to park very close to the room so it was convenient to move luggage from and to the car. read more

I had stayed at this Fairfield Inn in September of 2011, and having been pretty satisfied, decided to stay again last weekend for the Beyond Wonderland music festival in San Bernardino. When making an online reservation we had requested early check-in. I called Friday night and they said to call back around noon Saturday (day of check-in) to see if our room was ready. We called on the drive up and it was. When we arrived around 12:30, they promptly checked us in and we went to our room. It has been remodeled and is really nice now. Cushy carpet (a friend slept on the floor and said it was fine), and now they have fridges and microwaves in the rooms!! Shortly after we checked in, they called the room phone and asked to make sure everything was satisfactory. I said yes, it's great, and before hanging up, they informed me there were freshly baked cookies in the lobby. They were bomb cookies, btw. Everything in the room was clean, what we had reserved, and functioned (well, we didn't try the tv or the microwave but everything else). The water was nice and hot and there was a really nice showerhead in the bathroom. The only thing I didn't like was there was no fan so while taking a shower it got REALLY hot and steamy in the room. At least the sink and mirror part is outside the (sliding, but locking) door to the bathroom. Everything went smoothly at check-out, and we weren't disturbed by housekeepers at all the morning of check-out (we left at noon) like we have been other times at hotels. Overall, we had a great stay at a great price! Oh, and they must have updated their wi-fi cause it was SUPER SLOW before and it's quick now! read more

I stayed one night at this hotel and from the moment I arrived things just did not go well. I booked a room with 2 queens and when I arrived they told me they only had 1 king rooms left. The room was small, the roll away bed I had to request barely fit. The room was not equipped with a closet/rack/hangers which I needed to hang a dress and graduation gown. I give this place 3 stars because the receptionist was very apologetic and gave me a lot of extra pillows and blankets, a gift bag, and found some hangers for me (even though I had nowhere to hang the hangers on lol). No fitness center. This was a surprise, since I expect all Marriott hotels to have one. The hotel would have gotten 4 stars from me, but I am dinging them 2 stars for this. Read a lot of the reviews before staying here with our family for our convention. We had no problems at check-in, room was cozy and comfortable and the front desk was so helpful, we asked for two extra pillows and within minutes of hanging up the phone someone was at the door with our pillows. We were not able to pick up milk for our 2 year old daughter before checking in. My husband asked the front desk if we could possibly buy a small carton of milk from the kitchen to fill our daughter sippy cup. We are Marriott loyal. We travel a lot and use their points as elite members. I chose the Fairfield Inn Ontario because it didn't use a lot of reward points for our stay. Yes, this is a converted budget motel. This is very common knowledge if you travel at all. You still get the Marriott branding, the points for your stay, and the Marriott service. For this price you aren't going to get a five star luxury hotel experience so it shouldn't be expected, in my opinion. I read reviews about this hotel and I was really nervous but I was pleasantly surprised. We were given an inside room and were not bothered by noise from the airport or surrounding industrial area. We have small children and I felt in no way unsafe here. I thought the breakfast was comparable to all Marriott chain hotel breakfasts. I stayed here this past friday night with some family members. I cannot comment on the front desk as I didnt interact with them. The room was clean. Clean sheets etc. There is a microwave in the room and there is cable and free wifi. The bathroom is really weird. Its tiny and the door is not your standard open and close door but an old sliding door that is hard to slide and is very difficult to close fully. In fact no one in the room was able to or closed the door completely as I dont know how we would have gotten out. another random there was a bible and a book of mormon in the dresser, never seen this before. Free continental breakfast which is actually quite substantial. You could put together a full breakfast. Actually, maybe it is full breakfast and I just assumed continental. Anyway there was a waffle maker, pre package bacon or sausage egg and cheese sandwiches that you could heat in the microwave in your room, fresh fruit, fruit cups, yogurt, bagels, muffins, different types of cereal, orange juice and coffee. I stayed here twice in 2018. Both times were good but nothing amazing. When I stayed here for New Year's recently the heater didn't work which was a huge bummer because it was 40 degrees outside. There is plenty of parking and they don't make you pay to park your car in the lot which is nice. It's close enough that you can quickly grab an Uber over to the NOS Event Center. Both times the hotel and my room were clean and well-maintained. The sheets smell nice and they give great complementary toiletries. The rooms are spacious enough and the beds are comfortable. The water in the shower gets very hot which was a great surprise! They didn't have an elevator that I could find which could provide to be a problem for guests with mobility issues. You need your room key to get into certain parts of the hotel other than your room. This made me feel very safe and secure within the hotel. They have a free coffee and tea bar that is always accessible. That was probably my favorite part! The continental breakfast in the morning was better than some I've had. All in all, if you need a place to stay this hotel is clean, comfortable, and affordable. read more

Arrived at this hotel yesterday... everything seemed to be ok. I wasn't expected any fancy room since it's a Fairfield Inn. I'm in town for a convention in the Ontario Convention Center so I have to get some documents printed for the event. When I printed the pages, I was told that there will be a charge if I print more than 20 pages, really???? I'm a loyal Marriott customer and I'm diamond with Hilton. I should have stayed at the Double Tree next to the convention center but I guess I made s mistake. This is my last time to stay here!!! I've never heard that you get charge by printing and using the business center. It's ridiculous!!! read more

I have been staying in Courtyard Inn 's as of late (another sister hotel of the Marriott family), so I had to switch gears, as Fairfield's seem to always have a different feel. This location is in a business park, literally minutes from the Ontario Airport. My room was only $80, which I thought to be very good, considering its proximity to the airport. This location is also near an on-ramp to 10-E and 10-W. The snowcapped mountains in the background were also majestic. This hotel seems like it has been around for awhile. The rooms are ok, but not the most current of immenities. The sink is outside of the bathroom, which helps if you were to have multiple guests. Refrigerator's are also offered in every room. The continental breakfast was good. I had cereal, yogurt and fruit each morning, but they also have waffles, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, etc.. They also have complimentary copies of the USA Today in the lobby each morning. The internet wasn't working in the lobby. I have an aircard so I did not need it, but I did try to check something quick and it was frustrating not to have access to the internet. There were chocolate chip cookies and a nice note from the housekeeping staff left for me when I arrived to my room, and I did appreciate that my room overlooked the pool instead of the parking lot. The pool is a nice size, with several chairs and some tables around the exterior. The staff was nice and accomodating whenever I had any questions, and I was provided an extensive list of restaurants and shopping opportunities in the area upon check-in. read more

I thought this was a pretty nice hotel! Clean, pretty quiet (you could hear the freeway, but it wasn't too loud and didn't bother me at all), a nice workspace, the bathroom was not super tiny, and the room was decent sized all around. I was happy that the internet use was free, and maybe I didn't know better, but I didn't seem to have any problem with the web surfing. Breakfast in the morning was good; I liked those Jimmy Dean sandwiches. There were a few restaurants within walking distance, and just about everything else within a 5-10 minute drive. It was also a few minute drive to the Ontario Convention Center and the Ontario Airport, so very convenient. TIP: I'm not sure how I got assigned my room, but it was on the 3rd floor, which is an enclosed floor. The other two floors have outside entrances for their rooms. The 3rd floor has a hallway and indoor entrances. So if you want an indoor entrance room, ask for the 3rd floor. read more

I have stayed at several Fairfield Inns. This one is the best yet. The staff was great. The towel animal was a cute touch in the room! The tea station was wonderful, as were the cookies. This place is pretty bad. The building looks new but I think it was an old motel that was refurbished into a Marriott Fairfield Inn. Big mistake for Marriott. The rooms are tiny by any standards and the bathroom finish is low quality. The sink is outside the bathroom and there is a toilet plunger next to the toilet. There must be a plumbing problem and the guest is suppose to fix their own back-ups. The worst part about the hotel is the location. It is right next to a freeway and alll day and night you can hear the traffic. It was being tortured. If you have the A/C on the traffic noise is drowned out, option. I believe if you get the odd numbered rooms the noise is better. Service though is ok, up, up to Marriott standard. Check in was smooth and they offered me a late check- out that helped greatly. We travel quite a bit, never have I seen such bad customer service, when we question the manager regards what was advertised on the BW Surestay website, she said if we we're not happy we could find another hotel . What in the world !! Pool was not in service because it hadn't been cleaned, the Continental breakfast was a small miniature orange , a yogurt and a peanut butter bar which was so outdated. Stayed here when my best friend and I went to the 2 day Epicenter 2010 concert. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The comp. breakfast was delicious as well and saved us a lot of cash not having to eat out for 2 meals. Added note: They were swamped by fellow concert goers but didn't hesitate to hurry and clean up the rooms for us so we could check in early and get to the Fontana speedway before the bands went on. We always stay at a Fairfield Inn and this was our second time at the Ontario Inn. The two front desk "guys" were friendly and helpful. Kudos! We got the room we asked for on the first floor. We walked in to a a towel "animal" greeting on the bed and a "Welcome" on the mirror. Nice touch with the bag of peanuts. The beds were comfortable; however not enough face towels were in the room and no extra kleenex. The service for these items was prompt. My husband brought breakfast to the room -- yogurt, juice, coffee, banana and an English muffin. We will always stay at a Fairfield Inn. The cookies were plentiful and good. read more

We stayed here 8/11/17 for 1 night. We usually stay at Marriott properties but I think this will change to Hilton properties. Let me start with our room we booked for a 2 queen bed room and when we got to our room we couldn't even open the door all the way to get our luggage inside with the cart. The room had a strange smell. The AC was so loud I couldn't sleep. I was going to try to change rooms but my kids n hubby were already settled and it was just for a night. The thing that upset me the most was when I told the front desk clerk the next day she just gave me a look like that's weird and that look of your making all of this up and said oh I'm sorry and tried to make me feel better by giving me a Starbucks card for $5. Really?! That was an insult! The worst experience ever!!! I will never return to this property. Strike 1 Marriott. You might lose a very loyal customer. read more
