I asked what were these for so he said "so you can change your sheets "...I asked about housekeeping and he said "there's no one here"...all this as I see 2 housekeepers in back room. So I tell him that's not gonna work for me, so he gives me another room...then had the balls to tell me "bring the old room keys back when you're done". This hotel has really gone downhill! We won't be back. A few years ago we were happy to stay here and enjoyed it. On two separate trips. The parking lot is pretty good and the location is easy. However now. October 2024 you couldn't pay me to stay here again. I booked 2 nights one on points and one cash. I had spoken on the phone with the hotel ahead of time and they were supposed to have us in the same room so we wouldn't move and I told them we needed a pack n play and request was noted. I also messaged the hotel they the app about both these requests. I'm platinum and I'm supposed to get a free room upgrade if available. But they said it was booked up. So we arrive and no one has blocked out my room so we're in the same one so she does it while standing there. First she tries to put me in a first floor room. My preferences in the account say high floor. I say no I want top ( 3rd) floor. Marriott staff are supposed to thank you for being a rewards member, especially platinum! But there was nothing. Ok so we went upstairs onto our tiny 2 queen room. The bathroom in this hotel is very small. The room has no side chair or sofabed. We called down again for the extra towels I had requested and said we needed the pack n play right away for the baby's nap. I also had used the hotel messaging service. But over an hour later we called again. Where's the pack n play? Later I got a text response with them trying to claim they got the message late. How. We called and texted. Anyway. The guy shows up and says he could only find 3 sets of towels. Says hotel is out of towels. And brings pack n play with no bedding for it. Most Marriott's provide a crib sheet that fits it. Next morning I stopped by the front desk before going to breakfast to say that we do not want housekeeping service. She snaps at me. I need a credit card too. I say yes I know I need to re key. After breakfast! It was closing soon. I also told her when I went to re key that the fan in bathroom sounds like a loud jack hammer and needs replacing after we check out. After breakfast we went upstairs to find a loud dog howling and whining in the room next to us. We found out these people out a do not disturb note in the door and left for the day. It sounds like a large dog. I called downstairs to ask about the noise and a dog left here. She says. Yes. We're dog friendly but that dogs are not supposed to be left alone in hotel rooms. She says she will call the people. The dog was left all day and when I asked about it again because of noise she said she left a message. I really doubt she called their cellphone. I think if a dog is left they should call animal control and have it removed. Can you imagine the state of the carpets in that room. And yes these rooms have carpet. Note the carpet color is dark brown black. I wonder what filth it's harboring Breakfast. It was disgusting. We all laughed because the scrambled eggs are handled cage free eggs. And they were clearly powdered eggs. They were nasty. Then the sausage was really gross. It was just so bad. We are going to a real restaurant tomorrow morning. I can't do Fairfield food again. I wish they had the Jimmy dean sandwiches. They were pretty good and most these hotels have served them in the past. There's a tip jar sitting there. I don't think Marriott policy allows this either. The pool is the size of our tiny hotel room basically. About 8 to 10 people and it's packed. The room thermostat also sucks. If you turn it up a degree it turns the actual heater on ! So you must turn it to off if you just want a break from the cold AC The drapes. They picked a gawdy floral orange red huge large format print. It's very odd. Well. I'll probably think of something else. Oh yah. Some of the reasons this hotel sucks are because it's not operated by Marriott. It's a franchise owned and operated by an outside company. It's apparent the staff are not properly trained in The Marriott way. Or the rules on how you are supposed to speak to guests, especially rewards members. I also own a Marriott timeshare and I'm very familiar with how these hotels are supposed to be ran and this isn't it. Good luck if you stay here. We waited until about 6 pm and tried the pool. Water was a little too cold but we braved it. Jacuzzi was hot enough but tile is old and chipped away. There are zero pool towels at the pool. The towel shelf is there but empty. You hafta walk back into hotel at front desk and ask for towels. They are solid aqua scratchy and very tiny. Not really pool towel size which would be larger and Marriott's are usually blue and white striped and nice and large. Again not standard. Needed a last minute place to stay in St. George. The hotel is a bit dated and could use some upgrades. The woman who checked me in was wonderful. She was helpful and very cheery. She is exactly what you want when checking you in. When I got to the room, it didn't look like it was cleaned 100% but wasn't anything you needed to get a room switched for You could see some leftover small crumbs on the floor (could have been poor vacuum function) vents had dust and there was a cobweb in one corner. The beds were not anything luxurious but the sheets were clean and so was the bathroom. The bed skirt was stained and the AC unit at least in our room was pretty loud (which does not bother me since I need noise to sleep). The plugs between the beds were not working which we reported upon departure. The tv is huge and you have decent options for channels and streaming. I went to the free breakfast and the variety is your standard free hotel breakfast. The kitchen lady seemed a bit rude. There was a little boy who was looking at his options in the fridge and she closed the door on him while he was standing there. The milk was spoiled (within expiration date). We told the lady in the kitchen and all she said was well we just got that. It took her a while before she took the milks out of the fridge. Not sure if anyone else took any before she removed them. Overall, would not stay again with family but if I had a good price with my work discount again I would stay solo read more

I have been traveling through here for years and I consistently get top notch customer service from this hotel. One of the few places I still call and book direct, it's always the better choice. They are kind, helpful, and go the extra mile to make sure things are easy. I called from the road and Mark couldn't have been more helpful. He helped me book my reservation, found me an even better rate than I received online thanks to him reminding me of my AAA membership...and even walked me through the appropriate pet policies. Bring cash to tip your breakfast attendant. Her jar was empty and it was very sad because she busted her butt on breakfast and we think she deserves to feel appreciated and valued.!! We arrived on property at check in time at 3:00 and rooms were not ready despite that being the published check in time. The front desk gave excuses that towels weren't ready, 3:00 is never guaranteed and that they have titanium members who want late checkouts. They told us to come back later. I chose to stay and 30 minutes later we got our room. You would think they could have given us a room and brought the towels later. The room wasn't very nice. The main complaint was the bathroom. The drain in the shower was broken, there was no shampoo in the bathroom (it was broken off the wall), the shower head was clogged with mineral deposits, the toilet seat was about to fall off, etc. Breakfast is served at 6:30. It was undercooked watery oatmeal and what appeared to be freeze dried eggs. Gross. If you bring pets there is also a $50.00 charge for that. Overall this was not a good experience for a Marriott brand hotel. read more

This location was vacation and family oriented, and pet friendly. Pro is $50 for your pet's entire stay which is very cheap compared to other Marriott brands and locations. Con is the hotel has lots lots lots of noises throughout the nights... We stayed there for 4 nights and barely slept due to all sorts of noises... Nice things included that they recently did renovations in some common areas and rooms. They also served semi-continental breakfast in the morning. What I mean is they have everything packaged which just need to be heated up (ex: oat meal, sandwich, bagels, etc.). They also had fresh fruits and waffles. We have stayed at many Marriott properties over the years, but this was our first while traveling with our pet golden-doodle. Usually, we get our accommodation requests granted - high-floor, end of the hallway, extra towels, extra pillows which is almost always incredibly quiet and very relaxing experience. This trip we discovered that traveling with a pet and with points automatically places you in the zoo portion of the hotel on the first floor. We were surrounded by wild action all throughout the night in a non-stop safari adventure. We were neighbors to some families with younger kids which is very understandable, my kids were young once and they occasionally bumped into the walls or didn't tiptoe back to bed after using the bathroom. Usually kids have worn themselves out by 9PM and are fast asleep by 10PM and so if you run out the clock there isn't really an issue here. We travel with a white noise machine so most of the hotel background noise gets drowned out by that. Around 11PM we were awoken to commotion in the hallway, some loud adult voices, and some very loud pounding noises that shook the walls of the room. When we got up to check and see what was going on in the hall we found 2 maintenance workers breaking down the door of the room next door. Apparently, the couple and their dog staying in that room broke the locking mechanism on their door and were unable to open the door from the inside and with no other safe alternative, the head of maintenance was extracting the guests. Once the door lock was busted open by the badass maintenance dude, the hotel staff loaded the couples belongings onto a cart, and escorted them off to a new empty room. Thinking the excitement was over for the night, we then got to lay in bed while listening to what sounded like thunder. After about an hour, we realized it couldn't be thunder lasting that intensely for that long, and the large 4th of July fireworks displays were over by that time of the night. Perhaps it was a 500 lbs. gorilla in the room above us? It sounded as though the animal was jumping from the bed, stomping to the bathroom, stomping back to the bed, pausing for a moment on the bed and then repeating the process until about 3AM. Eventually the beast must have tired itself because it was quiet bliss until 7AM when the activity started back up again. One would think that the owners of the animal would have the good sense to not leave an animal in the room by itself, especially on the 4th of July when many animals get spooked, but I cannot think of another reason why the animal owners would allow the animal to romp around. There are a lot of self-centered and inconsiderate people in this world so I wouldn't put it past someone to leave their pet in the room unattended despite it being against the hotel pet policy. Perhaps I should be a bit more patient with others as there are a lot of people here that have medical issues and are heavily medicated. So I could also envision a guest strapped to their CPAP for the night and heavily medicated on Ambien, complexity unaware that their animal is bouncing off the walls of the room round them. Other than this hotel stay, we had a great time in St. George and got to visit with some old friends. The hotel staff was very friendly, but the people visiting St. George are pretty strange as far as Marriott guests go. The badass maintenance dude also deserves a raise for rescuing that couple from their room at 11PM and he still showed up to work the next morning at 8AM to explain to the boss-lady what happened to the door lock of the room. read more

I stayed four nights at this hotel. It was a pleasant stay. My room was attractive, clean, and quiet. I could not hear my neighbors and the AC was only whispering. There was a large TV in my room with options to sign into apps, such as Hulu, Netflix, etc. The USB jacks were useful. I may be forgetting something but you get the overall picture. In nice hotel. One thing, I wasn't overjoyed with the breakfast. There was enough food for everyone. They had two waffle makers, bread and bagels, toasters, butter, jam, honey, and cream cheese. The sausage patties were kind of bland but edible. The scrambled eggs were clearly powdered or some kind of processed. They were of a uniformly yellow color and had absolutely no taste to them. There was also fresh fruit. all in all, it was possible to eat addition breakfast there. I'm not particularly enthusiastic about paying those prices however, you get what you pay for. Great hotel in a convenient location. We were passing through town on our way to Las Vegas and needed a clean place to crash for the night. I'm a loyal Marriott fan, so naturally we stayed here. We were pleased with it. The room was clean, but a little dated. I think a fresh coat of paint would liven things up again. Let me start off by saying the hotel is clean, the rooms are large , and the location is good. It is close to downtown and to hiking/biking. Also the two restaurants nearby, the Rib and Chop House and Cracker Barrel are both excellent. Our problem was with our check in experience and the way our reservation was handled. The Asst Mgr, Karen P. Who was working the front desk couldn't find our reservation and was very uncooperative in resolving the situation. She claimed that Booking.com didn't send it to them, even though I showed her a confirmation copy on my phone. She said there was nothing she could do . We asked her is she had a room in case we couldn't get our reservation resolved, and she said she would give us a King room at $169,but would not honor the price , $129, and any billing problem would be ours to resolve. I asked her if there was a number we could call and She then gave me a number to call , which was the wrong number, however Expedia got me to the right number. I spoke with Casey at booking.com who found my reservation and then gave me a confirmation number to give Karen. She then "found" our reservation and checked us in, gave us a snippy "sorry for the confusion " and sent us on our way. By now it had been 30 minutes. If it wasn't for Casey at Booking.com she would have turned us away. So overall, our unhappiness came with the way we were handled as customers. It was handled so poorly on her part. read more

Not sure whether it was the acoustics or the guests but this was the noisiest hotel at which I've stayed. Made it hard to rest and sleep, which was the whole point of staying there. Went to bed about 10 o'clock, but loud people and kids in the hallway running and talking in daytime voices kept us up past 11 pm. Were awoken at 5 am by more loud adults who must not have realized others were asleep at this hour. Ended up getting up at 5:20 am instead of our planned 8 am because we couldn't sleep after all the ruckus. The hallway echoed quite loudly when people walked. Front desk staff was friendly but when we had a question and called the front desk, no one answered. AC / fan unit was loud. Hair dryer took so long to dry my hair that I finally gave up. Was disappointed compared to my other Marriott stays. read more

AVOID THIS PROPERTY! Dogs left in room near us and barked until 11:30 pm. owners were not on site and staff was unwilling to assist. Then at midnight people sitting in gathering area drinking began to be loud. Went back to room right next door and turned TV up as kids we're running around. again no staff help. Top it all off with one of the worst continental breakfast bars we have ever had. I asked the desk to have the manager contact me. I have still yet to hear from anyone. We all understand that hotels and the service industries in general are laboring under issues with staffing due to COVID-19 and other factors. Having said this, this Marriott location is the worst I have stayed at to date--and I have stayed at many Marriott locations over the years across all of the brands. The lobby is tiny and crammed with furniture, with a non-working fire place. The lobby bathrooms are filthy. The "breakfast" has non-consistent hours across the week, and was only open until 9 am during the week. When I arrived five minutes to 9 am, the staff had already hustled away all of the food. It was literally a race to put away the food lest anyone snatch up anything a few minutes past the hour. When one of the staff offered to get some food from the back, I regret I took her up on the offer. The bagels were literally like hockey pucks, and the eggs were completely inedbile. I realize these buffetts are meant to offer barely edible food, to discourage too much grazing and overindulgence by the partrons. However, this one was scraping the bottom of the barrel. I was awoken at 5 am by barking dogs in the hallway, at this "pet friendly" hotel. Observing some of the cleaning crew and staff, it looks like this location is perhaps used for training and the lack of leadership shows. I am drawing the conclusion that most of the Marriotts, with the lack of room cleaning, poor service, lack of cleanliness etc. etc. are starting to approximate Motel 6 and Best Western. The Marriott brand has really taken a hit in the last few years. Based on my experience here, my loyalty to Marriott has vanished. I am looking at more alternatives now, like Hyatt and Hilton. Bottom line: avoid this location. read more

This review is solely about the room. We had a pet friendly room. The room closet to the front desk. Not o it did our door have a 3 in gap under it, the front desk staff was so loud talking Fromm 2 am till 6 am. I didn't sleep at all!! I at one point got up and walked out there to see if it was maybe guests the lobby. But it was the staff. Our sheets were nasty. Crumbs or dry skin from the last person. Barf. Writing this makes me sick. And a small poop from a dog that stayed there before our dog. And the toilets would not flush. I do not recommend staying here. Even if you don't have a pet room. I stayed here for one night recently and it was a fairly decent place to sleep over in St. George. Located right off the freeway, the Fairfield Inn has 3 floors, free breakfast, free newspapers, a small pool and exercise room (basically 3 cardio machines, no weights), and friendly staff. I was there the weekend that Ironman St. George was held to work the race, so there were lots of triathletes staying at the hotel. They even started serving breakfast at 3:00am on race day to accommodate those souls who were going to spend hours on the tough course. My room had a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a view of the freeway--what more can you want? It wasn't noisy at night and for someone like me who needs total quiet, that's saying a lot. The room was comped by my boss, so I can't speak to the price of the room, but I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it if you need a place that's clean and no bed bugs in sight. PS--For fans of Cracker Barrel, it's only two doors down from the Fairfield Inn. PPS--There's a nice running/biking trail located right across the street! read more

When we first checked in the dude at the counter said he didn't have any rooms on the first floor but then 2 minutes later he had rooms - I wrote it off as maybe he was just a little off balance. The a/c & heat unit in my room was filthy & smelled of chemicals. My phone didn't work so I went to the front desk to tell that same dude that my phone didn't work and I needed to let my friend know he couldn't call me. The dude says he doesn't have anyone to fix it and wants to know if I want to change rooms. Yea, like I want to shove my shit back into a suitcase and schlep it to another room. The breakfast was underwhelming & tasteless which was the last straw for me. I love Marriott and will stay at other facilities but never at this place again.!! read more

Clean hotel, good location, but wasn't up to the standards of many of the other Fairfields that I've stayed in recently. Everything was just a bit old. The furniture was old and somewhat damaged (spots on upholstery, torn curtains, dusty A/C unit), and everything just seemed tired. Having recently expanded and upgraded their Fairfield offering with many brand new locations and complete hotel makeovers, the older Fairfield locations are now seeming tired. Also, the hotel was extremely loud, and I could hear footsteps from adjacent rooms. I'm glad that I was on the top floor so that I did not have to hear the people who would have been above us. Basically, if you just need a place to stay, then it should be fine, but don't expect the usual Fairfield standards here. read more

While the hotel itself is fine (clean, good location, etc), the red headed girl who works the front desk needs to try and be a little more friendly. We've stayed here 3 times over the past year. The first time, we my husband stood at the front desk for a couple minutes (which doesn't sounds like very long but it is when you just want to check in) while the girl folded towels for the pool. She did not look up until he very loudly cleared his throat. Then she looked up and said "do you need something?" Yeah, we need to check in! We are titanium members, the highest in Marriott's points program, and Ambassador elite. Every other Marriott we stay at, they acknowledge who you are, thank you for being a titanium member, and often have a welcome gift. This girl has never done any of these things. Even if you are a a Silver member, the staff is supposed to acknowledge you; it's part of Marriott's training. Not that these things are even that important but this girl makes you feel like you have completely put her out by even being there. Again, the hotel itself is perfectly fine. The girl at the front either need to be retrained, work on her people skills or both. read more

What a terrible hotel. We always stay at Marriott properties since hubby is a platinum elite. Never have we had poorer service. First they couldn't figure our how to use our marriott gift card. Then their internet goes down. We call and were told they were working on it and would call back. No call back. So we called and no answer on the house phone. I called on my cell and got Rick to answer. He had not fixed the problem and when I told him I was going to poorly evaluate the hotel when we get a request for evaluation from Marriott he told me to go ahead.
