Wow! Chris put it to me correctly, "I take great pride in providing true Southern Hospitality"…read more This is a very clean and well kept Best Western, when Chris had told me he was in the industry 19 years, 4 of which have been spent here, I interrupted him to ask, if that was when they finished construction. Believe it or not it's one of the older Best Western Hotels in the State. You would not tell that by its appearance and upkeep. One thing I enjoy about staying in high end Vegas hotels, are the smells, it always smells like rich lavender or something herbal and fresh. As I lay on the exceptionally clean, white sheets, which thankfully are not scented, all I can smell is the cleanliness of my hands, just washed in my marble sink ; - ). Also has a soaker tube and multiple shower head. Definitely better than any Days Inn, Howard Johnson, or even Wyndham we stayed in the last 3 nights. Pride of ownership very evident. I am very glad I decided to spend the extra 16-20 dollars and stay at a hotel that has towels which are more like the ones we buy at Costco to wash our bodies with, instead of the cheap and rough towels the other guys use, you know the ones, the ones our wives use to clean spills or retire to car, boat and rv washing duty. If you value the few hours of sleep you will get before hitting the road again, I strongly encourage anyone reading my review to stop driving, or shopping at the Walmart near by and reserve your night. You will not be disappointed. The breakfast is an actual American Breakfast, fried eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, muffins of 4 types, waffles, bagels, toast, coffee, tea, milk, 3 juice choices, cream cheese, butter, jelly, jam, etc. An actually edible inviting breakfast is a great way to start the day and the long drive, and I am glad I was able to enjoy last night in a quite and clean hotel room. I won't be able to make it to any local attractions on my way to NYC because of Grayson (storm 2018). But I am very interested in visiting Bourbon Trail! My favorite whiskey, Makers Mark is made locally, and Chris strongly encouraged I visit, drinking or not, he claims its a must see. Thank you for making me feel welcome, I appreciate it, after 2230 miles from Los Angeles, through Flagstaff, Amarillo, Little Rock, I am glad I stopped in Shepherdsville Kentucky. A place I will always recall, as a destination where you will run into actual Southern Charm, thanks man. You made my day a lot more pleasant, I needed that today. ---- I read the only bad review from the yelper (looked up all her other reviews too, she is a mean SO& rarely has anything nice to say) with a cat as the icon photo, get real, lady, this is a property you can immediately tell has been completely renovated. There is an industrial park which recently opened with thousands of new jobs, and this area is being completely revamped, there is a classic Stainless Steel Denny's 100 feet away (An original Stainless Steel dinner dive Denny's!) . Definitely not a place you need to worry about bugs or rodents. I am staying at the world renowned Salisbury Hotel in NYC from the 8th through the 11th, I hope they do as good of a job impressing this SoCal Brat as Chris and this property has. Mic drop.........

The windows and carpet need replacing but overall it was clean and very comfortable. 2 Queen room was large, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good! It's so close to everything and right off the highway but quiet as well. There's the FishHouse restaurant literally across the street and plenty of stores and restaurants around. Staff was super friendly when we reported a plumbing issue with toilet. They got maintenance up there immediately. Housekeeping is full service every other day. The only thing I would suggest that they put extra blankets in the closet during winter. Not everyone can agree on the HVAC room temp LOL. OH and checke the shower curtains. Mine was dirty, but other than that I would stay here again.

Why, oh why, did I not read reviews before booking this hotel? Live and learn, but this was a hard…read morelesson. I travel extensively for work and can say with certainty that this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. So bad, in fact, that I checked out early and drove 30 minutes down to Elizabethtown to check into a different hotel. I stayed in May of 2025, during what I assume was a massive remodeling time. I needed to work from my room during the daytime hours, which proved to be literally impossible because of the construction noise going on beneath me. That noise was only slightly less intolerable than the intense road noise from the passing cars and semitrucks on the interstate just outside my window. I had to sleep with a sound machine on my phone placed right next to my head in order to drown out the road noise. As I complained to the front desk, he told me that he only works there a few days and wasn't sure how to help me. This was the first time that I've ever packed my sh!t up in the middle of a trip and stomped my way out the front door. Worst experience ever.

We booked a last minute late night hotel while traveling through the area on a roadtrip. The photos looked promising but it's not safe to stay here. We checked in and went to the rooms to discover the strongest smell in our room and noticed the black mold everywhere immediately. There was human hair all over the bathroom walls and floor. The bed comforter, sheets, and pillows were damp and cold and musty, there's an infestation of stray cats out front near the lobby that walk up to you, the manager has been difficult to work with. The hotel manager only wanted to continue asking me why I didn't request another room when I advised on the health and safety protocols they're not legally following and putting peoples lives in danger while their entire HVAC system blows the deadly mold spores throughout the entire business and that I didn't cancel and that I showed up and was displaced due to my family's health and safety and unable to stay there. Thank god we didn't get to deal with the bed bugs and blood stained pillowcases that everyone else has reported and experienced here. Across the street is a bit pricier for a Hilton but worth it.

In the room, instead of drawers, there are many hooks on the wall. I like the decor. The only hindrance is the bed frame that juts out about an inch wider than the mattress. We kept hitting our shins on the corners. The breakfast was good. They have real oatmeal which is always a plus in my book. They also had a pancake machine, breads, cereal, juice, fruit, and yogurt.

There were giant connect four, jenga and air hockey next to the cutest seating. My room did not disappoint either, it reminded me of my cabin on a Disney cruise- very colorful and cute. Now I am not a fan of the soaps that are in hotels these days, so I bring my own. But they had a lemon soap and I could not resist. The lemon hand soap was so moisturizing and fragrant that I had to try the lemon body wash and I was equally impressed. The next morning at breakfast I made myself some pancakes at the pancake bar and made myself some coffee. All in all, I loved it here and can't wait to go to another one with family or friends so we can play giant connect four and jenga.

For example: reattaching the baseboard, spraying for ants (I've already killed about five - some in the bed), fixing the broken bathroom door handle, replacing the stained toilet seat, and addressing the musty, smoky odor and smelly carpet with flooring that can actually be cleaned. You can also hear every step from the guest above you -- at least in our room. When I first contacted the manager at Best Western Louisville, he offered a refund. I later learned I had reached the wrong property -- that hotel is about three miles from Best Western Louisville South, where my reservation actually was. Once I reached the correct location, the experience changed. I spoke with Carrie Peterson, who identified herself as the General Manager of Best Western Louisville South. She acknowledged the hotel has an ongoing ant problem but refused to issue a refund. Instead, she suggested I sign up for reward points to stay at "another Best Western," which I explained I would never do. Her approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked accountability. She attempted to position herself as the victim and ended the call when she couldn't manage the situation. This was unacceptable given the money I spent and the conditions I encountered. If tournaments hadn't filled every hotel this specific weekend, I would have left immediately and paid to stay elsewhere. I will never return to this hotel -- or any Best Western.

Breakfast was a joke, all 4 mornings I stopped to look and left empty handed an hungry. Elevator was actively being painted when I got in it after check-in. A/C worked great. Mini fridge and microwave was nice as was the coffee maker. Bathtub was super small, short and shallow. Overall it serves its purpose, and was priced right for what was offered. Free parking was nice. Won't stay again if I get a choice though.

Because it smelled exactly the same as his house does -- like a mixture of cigarettes and Brute. The stale, dank smell is not only overwhelming and disgusting, but it sticks to your clothes and luggage, leaving you remembering your stay for days. Like the other reviewer, I secured a room with a bed riddled with cigarette burn holes. Their blankets must be over a decade old because I imagine they have had a no-smoking rule at the place for sometime. People were often leaving their rooms with no shirts on and aimlessly walking the halls, giving me that cozy "what the hell is going on here?" feeling. The breakfast was OK and I liked the fact that the motel was more like a hotel. The halls were relatively quiet at night and I felt safe. That said, I would tell my grandfather that I'm not paying him $80 to spend the night inhaling his stale smoke and brute. I promise that you'll never forget the smell of this place. I can still smell it on my luggage bag.
