We got a funnel cake and it Tasted old and greasy. my granddaughter threw it away. This place could use a really really GOOD deep cleaning. Your first impressions are it's just not clean. My funnel cake wasn't all the way done. It was doughy and not cooked in the middle. I order often from here and the quality is usually on point but not tonight. I called to see if anything could be done the associate just left me on the phone and didn't say anything for a few minutes at that. Very disappointed especially for how expensive it is . I love this place but this was not the quality I am used to :( I called back to try to resolve again and the associate Anthony literally didn't care and said there's nothing he can do about it. I didn't eat it because it was gross and undercooked he was so rude I may not come back knowing he's there representing them. I tried the regular funnel cake added whipped cream to it and my kids got ice cream scoops and the fresh baked cookie. I honestly have to say the funnel cake was ok could have been cooked longer. Went with my sister and she got the same thing and hers was very well cooked I just think the woman there got rushed because more people came in so since I ordered after my sister she rushed my order because even my powdered sugar was very little to none and she forgot to add the whipped cream I had to go back and ask. She was very nice and welcoming though kept a smile on her face as she greeted us. I would recommend this place just make sure its not packed or your order may be rushed. Driving by one day we saw a sign outside that said funnel cakes. So... naturally, we decided to satisfy our sweet tooth and give it a try. The place does not have a seating area so plan on taking your stuff to go. When we first walked in we were immediately greeted with a smile from the owner. He offered to explain the menu and gave some history on how Fairgroundz came to be. Since then, we have been by several times. Their funnel cakes are delicious! Highly recommend the churro funnel cake (yummm) which is topped with vanilla ice cream. The banana cream pie funnel cake is also a definite plus as well as their churro (which surprisingly was filled with something sweet, caramel I think). Oh wait, I cannot forget about the home made brownies. Take it home and pop that sucker in the microwave for 10 seconds and you have a gooey chocolatey goodie. I wanted this place to be so good and it was so bad it hurt. I was craving a donut yesterday evening and my husband and I fell into this spot by accident. I had heard about it before and was thrilled that we actually found it. It's located in a super junky shopping center with dim lighting and shady characters hanging around. As a novelty shop, it definitely doesn't quite fit in around that neighborhood. When we walked in, the employee was on the phone and we couldn't tell if he was talking to us or the person he was on the phone with. Even after I ordered a funnel cake, he seemingly remained on the phone while he poured the batter into the fryer. He was pretty friendly once my husband started to take pictures for Yelp and shared some history about the shop. I ordered a funnel cake with strawberry topping, powdered sugar, and whipped cream and I was bummed when I got home to a soggy jumble of barely-cooked batter. The portion size was small as it had to fit in a small round tray and the strawberry topping was not fresh. It definitely wasn't a fair-sized treat but it still had the typical fair pricing (almost $6 for a meager portion). They are open late which is nice but I wouldn't trust going here after the sun goes down. They have a variety of fair treats but my first visit was such a let down that I don't think I'd return unless I was craving Thrifty ice cream (which they sell). read more

Stopped by here for a funnel cake. My wife and i had the full idea of splitting one of the strawberry banana specialty ones but once we got this massive thing we realized our mistake. We were going to fight each other for every bite. It was so good. We looked at it thinking we wouldn't finish it and then by the end were gearing up for a cage fight to get that last bite. I Love the concept from the start, and have long intended to visit. I must say the Apple-topped funnel-cake was delicious indeed, and we were treated quite nicely. Those familiar with the area already know this is a sketchy corner, but it's not bad enough to keep me away from a worthwhile business. It's a cute little place and I wish them all the success in the world. What repelled me was a powerful smell akin to Pine-Sol. We could taste it in the air, and couldn't avoid it all over their plastic bags and containers even when we took them home. Clean is good, but effective sanitizers need not have a lingering disagreeable smell that kills appetites. If they used something more pleasing to the senses, I'd love to return. read more

Fair fan favorites, all year round? YES, PLEASE! I don't know how this concept didn't get thought up sooner, but I'm glad it did. My family LOVES this place and have tried almost every single variations of funnel cake offered here. Our all time favorite is the Banana Cream Pie! Oh, so good! The Cookies and Cream is soooo decadent and the Apple Pie is just to dang good to put down though. So really, you can't go wrong with any of them (we've gotta try the maple bacon one!) So, what's better than NOT having to pay the fee just to get into the fair for these types of treats? How about the fact that they PILE ON the ingredients here (which, c'mon, we know they skimp on those at the fair). You're desert will be piled high with whipped topping, cookies, bananas.....whatever you order! I will say that you'll be waiting at least 15 minutes while your deserts are cooked up. But, I mean, they are making everything fresh, so, be prepared to hang around outside for a bit. My only complaint was the giant cookie. I asked if they were "fresh baked" like cookies advertised on the menu and was told they were; however, when my daughter got her cookie, it was saran wrapped and cold and hard. So, maybe don't make that the first thing you try here. Instead, go for the funnel cakes or other "warm treats" they have here. I bet you'll be back! read more
