Getting an appointment is easy but if you want to talk to anyone after with a question or more…read moreinfo, good luck. You will be sent to voicemail and will either be called or get an email days later. I had asked if there had been any cancellations to move up my husband's surgery because he was in a lot of pain and it was scheduled 2 months in advanced. This wasn't worthy of an email response. Also the surgeon only performed hubby's surgery at Mercy Hospital (needed hospital vs. TCO surgery center) and Mercy copay for us would have been $3100 and has bad reviews. Copay at other nearby hospitals was $450, so we had to switch surgeons. New Clinic was much friendlier. Crazy how nice it is to call and be able to talk to a real person.

Conveniently, they said they sent over the images when they made the referral. I was told to be there five minutes early since I filled out paperwork online, so I showed up ten minutes early just in case. The front desk person was such a pleasure to talk with and she was very kind. We chatted for a couple of minutes and she told me his surgery ran long, he would be 10-15 minutes late (to which I responded "I hope all is going okay... That's perfectly fine."). My appointment was scheduled for 2pm and I was taken back to the exam room by about 2:05pm. And then I waited.... The nurse seemed bothered by me telling her that it was odd I was taken back into the exam room so early when the waiting room was FAR more comfortable (she mentioned it was "more convenient for the doctor when he finally arrived"). I was told by this nurse that I was THIRD on his list of people he needed to meet with, even though I was the FIRST one of the three of us who checked in. Dr. Gerlach did not arrive until 2:50 PM, 50 minutes late for my appointment. I sat in a cold, empty exam room in the casting area for 45 minutes... The nurse checked back with me once after about 20 minutes. He seemed inconvenienced by my questions and concern for my own well-being and would roll his eyes and sigh whenever I would talk. When he started taking the tape off of my splint, I asked if I could do it since it hurt (I broke it four days prior) and he said "No, I have it" and proceeded to carelessly twist and pull at my broken finger. I was near tears saying "Ow, please stop" before I finally had to pull away and tell him I would do it myself. Once he was done talking (he said he would see me in 6-weeks, without even seeing the new x-ray that I 'needed' to have done). I was sent to x-ray and I didn't see him again. No feedback on the results of the x-ray. I had to ASK for the additional splint Dr. Gerlach told me I would get... The nurse (someone different, that I hadn't met, wasn't given the name of, nothing) who came to send me home, didn't know I was supposed to get one and had to ask me the number of my splint (they're numbered for size). I left severely disappointed. I'm a patient, not just a paycheck... I arrived there in a wonderful mood (and in no pain at all, actually), and left in tears, in pain, and feeling disappointed and unimportant. I left not knowing that I was given the best direction to heal appropriately. Had I known, I would have gone somewhere else. If it wasn't just a finger, I would go somewhere else to get a second opinion (it'd be well worth the cost to be sure).

**Above and beyond during an emergency visit**…read more My son was sent to AOMS for an unexpected emergency visit after his regular dentist accidentally punctured the roof of his mouth while unsuccessfully trying to remove a back molar. From the moment we arrived, every person we interacted with was fast, efficient, and incredibly professional. They got us in quickly, examined the puncture, and clearly explained what they were seeing and what needed to be done next. They not only successfully removed the back molar, but also found and removed small shard fragments left behind in another extraction site from the earlier appointment. Throughout the whole process they were patient, kind, and very reassuring with both me and my son, checking in on his comfort level and walking us through each step so there were no surprises. What impressed me most was how they made a stressful, last‑minute emergency visit feel smooth and organized, almost as if it had been planned in advance. Their calm, confident approach put us both at ease, and I left feeling genuinely grateful that my son's care was in their hands. I would highly recommend AOMS to anyone needing oral surgery, especially in an urgent or unexpected situation. Thank you, Dr. Huss & amazing staff

After they visit my bill was carefully explained to me which I appreciated. In the chair I was treated like a long term patient (this was my first visit) as they prepared for the surgery. I had opted for Novocain and what amazed me was I barely felt the shots as they went in to my gums, and I hate needles. The surgeon then proceeded to extract the teeth and did so with care, always checking in with me to see how I was doing. Thee was even a moment when we had to stop so I could be numbed a bit more. I appreciated being told what was going to be done and the explaining what was happening as we went on. In my opinion, this is definitely a quality practice.

Was surprised by how nice everyone was and looking at the reviews, most people are just cheapskates. These are your EYEs and it's important to have a good and experienced eye doctor. Dr. Omar Awad has done 75000+ procedures which was more than even the person in the informational videos who only did 60000! Plus the entire team made me feel comfortable and were friendly and honest about what to expect. They made it clear what to expect and gave me the proper droplets and post treatment LASIK instructions clearly. I feel like the people who left negative reviews really just don't read or don't follow instructions. Recovery took me 1 long sleep (11 hours), they do LASIK as late as 6pm appointments (I waited and got mine around 6:30pm). Overall, it was a painless and enjoyable experience and they do a rigorous prescreening process if you're eligible. If you don't have any other medical preexisting conditions, I would definitely recommend to anyone who's wanting to go glasses or contacts free!

I had LASIK done by Dr. Awad at LASIK Plus. Spoiler: I can see now, which is great. But the road to…read more20/20 wasn't exactly smooth sailing. I was surprised to find out that four of us were scheduled for the exact same 1:00 p.m. slot. I was the first one called back--at 1:50. So while the actual procedure really did only take about 10 minutes (they were right about that), plan to be at the clinic longer than you think. If you've got someone helping with childcare or driving, let them know to expect a longer visit. Before the procedure, they gave me numbing drops. I couldn't feel pain, but I was still very aware of the pressure and movement. I could see things happening--which, if you've never had someone work directly on your eyeball, is not exactly calming. At one point (okay, three times), I accidentally dislodged the eyelid holder they use to keep your eye open. I didn't even know that was possible, but it turns out if you're anxious and reactive, your eye might fight back. At my consult, I'd asked about meds to help with anxiety and pain afterward. Both were brushed off--"you'll be fine, just take a nap." That nap never happened. What did happen was five straight hours of burning, stinging pain that had me crying--not from nerves, just pure fire-in-your-eyeballs misery. The good news: I can see great now. But my eyes are still very dry, I need drops every hour, and I'm super sensitive to light. I also get eye fatigue quickly when I'm on the computer. Looking back, I wish I'd taken two full days off just to rest and recover instead of pushing through. Bottom line: the results are worth it, but don't go into it expecting a breezy experience. Prepare for a rougher recovery than they describe, and bring whatever support, meds, or backup plan you need--because no one's going to hand them to you the day of.
