I will try to keep this one short, but Southern Motors Honda was the light at the end of the tunnel…read morefor me in a nightmare windshield situation. When I noticed my windshield was cracked, I called my insurance company and they referred me to a glass shop in Savannah. They said I would have to go to a shop in person as the safety features would have to be recalibrated after the replacement. When I arrived at the glass shop, they had a notice posted that they do not recalibrate cars. When I asked, their associate let me know that they do not undo the safety features wiring, and all they do is remove the camera from the windshield and reposition it onto the new glass. When I left the shop, my lane departure feature did not seem right, so I made an appointment at another Honda dealership to get the recalibration. Over the phone they told me it "would not take that long and would not cost that much." The next day, I arrived at the other dealership for my appointment. The service manager told me it would take up to 3 hours and cost upwards of $350. That is a long time and a lot of money if you ask me! After much back and fourth, the glass shop convinced my insurance company to let them replace the newly inserted after market windshield with the correct Honda one. The other dealership said to call them when the windshield was replaced, and they would get me right in for the recalibration. We expressed this to the glass shop when they replaced the new windshield, and the manager said those numbers did not seem right. She took the liberty of calling Southern Motors who informed us that calibrations cost a standard amount of $245 and should take 45 minutes to complete. We called the other dealership who stood by their $350 and 3 hours quote. The next move was obvious to us. My fiancé took my car with the new Honda windshield to Southern Motors and the Service Advisor, Jacob Rainwater, was there to greet him. He stated that the safety features likely do not need the calibration with the "correct" windshield, so off they both went for a test drive. Jacob checked every safety feature for accuracy and everything was working as expected. He expressed that the other windshield I originally received was not compatible with the cameras, and that's why the lane departure was not working. Jacob said we did not need the recalibration afterall! And if we decide after a few days to get one, that it would not take 3 hours and would not cost $350. I am first of all blown away by how poor the service center at the other dealership was, but also blown away by how honest Southern Motors Honda was. I will be taking all of my service (and more than likely sales) business here.

OK, what a difference a new ownership makes. :)…read more My recent experience with the service department at the new ownership group at Southern Motor's Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep was truly incredible and mind blowing. I called and left a voice mail message to ask the price for an oil change for my Fiat 500X, I also left an online text on their website. I hadn't heard anything back for a day and a half, so I texted them once again. That night around 7 p.m., I received a call from the manager of the Service Dept., Scott. He apologized for no one getting back to me, and offered a free oil change and tire rotation to compensate me!!! Who does that?? Then, 15 min. later I received a call from Todd, the Service Bay manager, who I had worked with in that past. Not that he knew that at the time. He too wanted to apologize for no one getting back to me and when did I want to bring my car in for a free oil change? After I had the work done the next day, I received a call from Amber at Southern Motors to make sure everything was done to my liking!!!! Wow! Is all I can say. There guys are working hard to deliver a stellar customer experience. Thanks Gang!

Avoid this service department…read more I own a 2015 Honda Pilot with approximately 106,000 miles. The vehicle had no check engine light, no loss of power, no exhaust symptoms, and was brought in for nothing more than a routine oil change. After the oil change, I was told that my entire exhaust system was clogged and was presented with a repair estimate exceeding $10,000. I was told the catalytic converters, A-pipe, mufflers, heat shields, gaskets, and related components needed replacement. I was even advised that I would be better off putting that money toward a new vehicle. This did not happen in a vacuum. Prior to this visit, the dealership had repeatedly attempted to buy my vehicle from me. Multiple times I received offers that were a fraction of what the vehicle was actually worth. Then, after bringing the vehicle in for a routine oil change, I was suddenly told it needed over $10,000 in repairs and that I should consider replacing it. When I asked for evidence, I was sent a blurry photo with a few specks of debris circled and was told that catalytic converter material was clogging the exhaust. For a repair recommendation of this magnitude, the evidence provided was astonishingly weak. Fortunately, I did not authorize the work. Instead, I took the Pilot to an independent mechanic for a second opinion. Their conclusion: nothing is wrong with the vehicle. No clogged exhaust. No failed exhaust system. No $10,000 repair bill. Think about that for a moment. A vehicle that was supposedly in need of more than ten thousand dollars of exhaust work was examined by an independent mechanic and found to have no such problem. This is also not my first serious issue with this dealership's service department. During a previous service visit, they returned my vehicle after forgetting to refill the transmission fluid. That kind of mistake can cause catastrophic damage and should never happen in a professional service environment. At this point I have completely lost confidence in anything this service department recommends. Being told that a perfectly functional vehicle needs repairs approaching five figures, while simultaneously being encouraged to replace or sell that vehicle, is not something any customer should have to deal with. If you receive a major repair recommendation from this dealership, get a second opinion before spending a single dollar.

This was going to be my third vehicle purchase from them, so I came in expecting a straightforward process. Instead, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional from start to finish. The salesperson seemed unfamiliar with the vehicle's features and couldn't answer several basic questions. It also became clear the truck had previously been used as a loaner, which was not clearly disclosed upfront. When I returned to sign the paperwork, things got worse. I had texted the sales manager earlier that morning and he told me to come in and that he would personally review everything with me. When I arrived, he didn't remember me at all and I waited over 20 minutes before he briefly appeared and told me I would be sent to finance instead. While waiting for finance, I decided to go get my trade-in and leave because the process felt so chaotic. I then discovered my vehicle had already been stripped down, even though the deal wasn't finalized. I had to wait another 20 minutes just to get my license plate back. I was also told I was "lucky to get financing," which was surprising considering I was trading in a vehicle worth more than half the value of the new purchase and paying the rest in cash. After two prior purchases from this dealership, I expected far better treatment. Sadly, this experience was frustrating enough that I will likely take my business elsewhere in the future.

It's going to take at least 72 hours or more because they had a car ahead of you and the technician will need to diagnose the problem and recommend a repair". Fearing that I will be out of a car for a week, I chose to bring it back two weeks later. I returned two weeks later, on a off day, and they stated "oh no, we should have this done today". I handed over the keys and left. After lunch I got a text message saying I needed $1400 service on a car that I had only one month. I chose only to have the sensor replaced at $860. I asked why it wasn't covered under my bumper to bumper warranty. He stated that it was because "of impact or collision". The next week I took my car to Mavis in Savannah to get the "suggested", by auto nation, front end alignment. The technician took my car back and put it up on the rack to align. He then called me back to show me it was already aligned and didn't need the alignment. So, fast forward to today. We are on vacation on our way home. The car now has a low tire pressure warning on the tire that Auto Nation patched. I would advise you to avoid Auto Nation Hyundai at all cost.
