They literally refused a claim with 10K miles stating that we were in an accident and took it somewhere to be fixed. The service Director claimed it was hit hard from behind and had the whole bumper replaced. He put it on a hoist and showed me and I was surprised that it looked odd (i do not know what I am seeing). He claimed smashed and taken to a body shop. THIS NEVER HAPPENED! Then I complain to Subaru (next review) and the story changes to now we shut the hatch wrong and damaged it - nothing under the car impacted. Subaru refused to fix and want us to pay $850. DO NOT GO TO CHATAHAM SUBARU AND DO NOT BUY A SUBARU. We have had 6 in a row and now this over $850 and not our doing!! We have purchased seven (7) Subaru vehicles and the two that we have now will be the last ones we drive. We have always advocated for Subaru to all of our friends, family, and co-workers, but this will no longer be the case. I am deeply saddened that this will be the end of our relationship with Subaru, but I am also not going to remain loyal to a brand that does so little for its customers. We traded my wife's Ford for a Crosstrek, and six weeks afterward, our vehicle loan had not been paid off. When calling the dealership, I was assured that the car was paid off on March 5th. Unfortunately, after calling the previous lender, I discovered that they had never received a check. After notifying Chatham Subaru of this issue, they apologized and said that they would look into the situation, and call me back as soon as it was resolved. After hearing nothing back for a week, I had to threaten to take legal action to get this issue resolved. Again, I was told that they would reissue a check and send me the tracking number that day. After hearing nothing, I tried to contact the dealership and no one would return my calls or emails. The car was traded on 2/19/25, and still not paid off on 4/1/2025. read more

I didn't want to go all the way back when it did not blow cold air, so I went to Auto Tech in Brunswick and they fixed it with a fuse and it was $156-. Really Subaru? That was a wasted $250. The purchase of my car was a 5 star rating. Our salesman, Brandon Page, was very patient and kind. He wasn't pushy and was easy going. When I took my car in to the service department for my first oil change it was more like a 3 or 4 star rating. I called ahead and they said they don't take appointments for oil changes and that you just come in. I got there early in the morning the next day. It looked liked there was only one other customer there but it took forever. I was in there for over an hour and it was expensive. The guy that took information coming in was nice. I can't speak on the sales department. Buying a Subaru is an overall great experience because they are excellent cars. The service department is absolute garbage. I haven't actually gotten my car back, so let me say, the customer service side of the service department is trash. The mechanics might be okay but the jury is still out. If you can help it, take your car ANYWHERE else to be worked on. You will never get an update. Never get a phone call returned. Never get a text message returned. You will be without your car for at least a week. I'm using Car Shield to pay for my repairs and these jokers hate working with companies like this for some reason. All that needed to be done to file my claim was to call and discuss the diagnosis to get it approved. Brandon at Subaru was "too busy" to do it. It took me calling there MULTIPLE times, including leaving messages and texts, for it to get done. Once he called Car Shield, it was approved almost immediately. Brandon sucks. Very happy with the sales experience. First of all they are no pressure so don't expect someone to approach you to push you into a car. You are to initiate the sale. It may take a while but it's not like other dealers where they are trying to wear you down I just think they are slower paced. Price was very fair, below msrp, they even gave you free service and a good price on trade in. I looked at 3 different cars and left with a good deal. My husband passed in January this year. every car I had he took care of, from charging my oil to new brakes, now I was on my own. I sold everything except my car and moved to Georgia. with my daughter after 70 years in California it was devasting to say the least. I had my Outback serviced here (including rotating tires) about a year ago. I noticed they lost one of my battery vent covers. Most recently I went to a tire shop to have my tires replaced - and they found out one lug nut was missing on my front left tire and another stud was stripped completely. So this was done by this Subaru dealer when I had my service done. I initially thought about taking the car back to them to get these two lug studs replaced, but then thought I better do it myself to get it done right. I can't believe my family and I drove this for all this time with this hazardous condition. Never again will I let them touch my Subaru. read more

I bought a Subaru for a reliable vehicle based on a history from Subaru aficionados about their Subarus lasting for 200000 miles. Since my bought-new Forester passed 60,000 miles (warranty expired) I have had to replace the transmission, brakes, clutch, air conditioning compressor and this morning the power steering failed. Subaru now sells disposable vehicles and provides no support when a vehicle fails. They tell me it's the luck of the draw. This is not bad luck. Buying Subaru was a bad decision. read more

From the moment we walked onto the lot it was bad. No one offered to assist us until 1salesman finally came over to us while 4-5 others just sat outside the showroom. we decided on a used car. They needed to do a couple things like replace a couple of tires and detail the vehicle. 1 week later they said the vehicle was ready so I picked it up. I got to the house and found all kinds of trash where the spare tire was (great job detailing). The next day the tire sensor came on, called them and they told me to bring the car in but I had to work so I had to wait until Saturday. I took the car in and it needed new sensors, they said they would call when they came in. Had the car for another week with no call about the sensors so I had to call them. Took it back for repair but the sensors they ordered wouldn't fit so they had to order OEM sensors. That week on the way to church vehicle completely died. Had it towed back. They kept it a week but couldn't accomplish anything. Finally got a loaner while they sent it to a GM dealership. GM had it for 3 weeks while trying to diagnose the problem. Finally got the call to return the loaner and pick up our vehicle. My wife stood around for over an hour waiting for someone to actually realize she was there and get her the keys. The person she originally spoke with upon arrival didn't bother to let anyone know she was there. They still don't have the tire sensoRS, said they are on back order. read more

I would rate this place 0 out of 5 if I could. I brought my 2015 WRX in to get a tire rotation/alignment and brakes changed, after driving home I noticed the balance was worse than when I arrived. A week or so later I get a full set of tires installed and come to find Subaru's service department stripped and cross threaded 3 out of 5 lug nuts on one wheel! Contacted this dealership in search of a specific model of Subaru. Was immediately contacted by 2 of their Internet Sales agents confirming that they had 2 in stock and ready for a test drive. I told them we were 1-hour away and please to confirm again the vehicles were on the lot. They said yes. Long story short, we arrived at the dealership 2-hours later, met a sales agent and was told they had no cars in stock like the one we wanted and then argued with the salesman over what was standard on the Subaru Forester and what was optional. Much improved service experience from past dealings with this dealership. Adam was able to address all of my issues with my our Tribeca in the same day! I called on a Saturday morning expecting to make an appointment for the following week but they were able to make repairs in a couple of hours. The loaner car was much appreciated as well. My only complaint is that employees use the check in area as a smoking area. I've been to this dealership many times in the past 5 years and EVERY TIME an employee is smoking in the area where customers come in and out of the service and show room. EVERY TIME. Read before you consider Chatham County Parkway as your dealer...our experience merits this review. We hope nobody has the AWFUL experience we have had. Here are a few reasons why you should consider another dealer. -They will give you an out-the-door price that sounds good...but after you go through the trouble of transferring your insurance and setting up financing they will jack the price up two to three thousand dollars and call it taxes/fees. Clearly they do not know what out-the-door price means and they will try to inconvenience you to the point where they think you will accept their dishonest behavior. This is the email sent to us: "What time can you be here today were @$33,000 OTD that is A grand below where you say your offered now this is over and beyond but in order to earn your business I'm here working for you sir now I have delivered the impossible so now..." However, when we came with the check the price was over $35,000! But what merits this review the most is the following... Subaru Outback 2014 Indigo Blue VIN: 4S4BRCPC0E3204556 We were in the process of buying the vehicle listed above. However, during the process, the vehicle was hit on the lot by another customer. The accident caused damage to the front of the vehicle...chipped/scratched paint, wear marks along the bumper. Though the vehicle was damaged, the dealer is still selling the vehicle as "new" because the accident will not be listed on the car fax. The customer who hit the vehicle straight on, paid out-of-pocket for the damages because the damages were less then her deductible and she also did not want to flag her insurance. Another email from the dealer.: "Nothing will be on your car fax the paint is still covered as well an to help reassure that you can still put the GlassCoat on the vehicle as well that we talked about when you were considering the purchase that day once you get here I can explain how it want be on the car history or you can call me sir cause no car insurance companies were involved sir like I say..." Even after the repairs, you can see one air/dust bubble in the paint job on the right front bumper and the bottom front of the rubber bumper has signs of wear. We have already given this VIN to other dealers so they are aware of what happened and to make sure this car is not sold to us. Knowing that dealers trade vehicles when they have a customer interested in a specific model, color and package. Please take this review into consideration, when choosing a dealer. If they are doing this, what other dishonest things are they doing that customers do not know about. This is not a reputable dealer. read more

I purchased my outback in October 2012 with Malcolm, he was personal, caring and I have received (and still receive) cards from him. Asking how my family is doing, my car, ect... In January 2013, with my one month old son, I was T-boned at 55mph. My son nor I was hurt, my outback was totaled :) I was Stuck out of town, I was able to locate another outback and once I was back in town was able to purchase.. Each staff member has been amazing!! :) NOW FOR THE TRUE REVIEW of the ONE person who has stood out: Mike Rouge was the sales person this round (Malcolm and Mike worked together) Mike was hands on every step of the way, my husband is deployed at this time and it was just my one month old son and myself trying to purchase a new car, return a rental and get paper work mailed overseas to my husband.. ect... A month after I had my outback I had an issue (fixable) but still an issue, I had no one to call, had no clue what to do, I called Mike. He drove to my house on his OFF day to help me figure everything out, get my little one in the house, stayed with my car until it was able to be towed and another vehicle for me to drive. My case was exhausting and difficult and every step of the way, he has helped, made sure I have understood everything and personally has went out of his way SEVERAL times. I found a car on cars.com at this dealership. I called, verified they had it, and asked them to hold it. The next day I drove up to purchase the car. Not only was it not detailed, there were multiple scuff makes on the front seats--I presume from people test driving it and a 12" scratch through the paint on the left rear bumper. I wish they would have disclosed this before I drove up. When I pointed this out to the salesman, he asked, When is the last time I bought a new car? This is how some come, with minor scratches and dents. Wtf? There was also a similar car for a similar price at the dealer in Kennesaw, GA. I called them, asked them to hold it and bought it four hours later. When I arrived, it was detailed and in ideal condition. There is no way I can recommend Chatham Pkwy Subaru. read more

I brought my 2018 Legacy in for its first oil change and tire rotation last Friday. I went in early no wait,they took me right in. Service guy was pleasant, no issues. He sold me on the complimentary car wash which actually took longer than the service but it was free so who could argue with that? I got home and my wife took her car for errands but when she paid for something noticed her credit card holder wallet had been moved from its normal place in the bottom of the center console box. She was now out $30 in cash and her cards were all out of order. It appears someone dug to the bottom off the console box for a little spending money. Since neither an oil change or a car wash calls for someone to go through the console we concluded that Chatham parkway Subaru employs dishonest people. An email to the service department and the general address resulted in no response from the dealership. No one had access to the car except the service personnel, so why wouldn't they just own up to issue and apologize to save face with us as new customers? I regret that trust is huge with me and I will make the extra ride to Hilton Head for any future service appointments. Now we have to monitor our accounts to make sure there are no fraudulent charges. Won't be returning to this place. The cash is history but a simple reply saying we're sorry it won't happen again would be epic, but their silence says they really don't care about their customers. read more
