We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer -which we order anytime we see it on a menu- and this was absolutely delicious, some of the best we've ever had. My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi (which was so very good I've tried to recreate it 3 times already ‍) I had the filet medallions & we both had the Greek side salad. Portions perfect, not so large we had to feed leftovers to the dogs, but enough to snack on later at the hotel. They have a huge menu and great variety. Prices were pretty standard. The menu has a lot of variety so even picky eaters should be able to find something they will enjoy. I've only been there twice and both times the server was overwhelmed. The server was very pleasant and could answer questions once I had their attention. But they were stretched thin. When I entered I was told to seat myself and a server would be with me in 10 min. Food is great. They sell Cheesecake Factory cheesecake for dessert. It comes out frozen. That was fine with me as I wanted mine to go. read more

Highly recommend the goat cheese appetizer and the butter cake dessert. We have visited numerous times and all entrees are prepared perfectly. Been here twice in a week, since moving to WV. Picture below is fried green tomatoes.....WOW!!! This plate is amazing and was a bit skeptical prior, but gave it a go and was wonderful. A Californian visiting relatives in Hurricane, I was looking for a place that had a good selection of local craft beers on tap, plus a varied enough menu to satisfy everyone in our group. Fairways is the place! I got six sampler glasses of six different locally-brewed IPAs which were terrific. (See photo.) The food menu is huge, covering a variety of styles. I got Mahi Mahi tacos, my sister got the BBQ burger, my daughter got penne pasta and everything was great. The service was flawless. The place is a bit hidden, you actually park at the gas station in front. My one quibble is that this the first place I've ever ordered a flight, over five different States, where the beers weren't labelled. It's craft-beer flight etiquette to do this so that the craft beer lover knows what beers he's drinking. read more

Tonight we tried some new things. The calamari was not good. On the menu it says "lightly fried & served w/ Thai chili sauce". They cook them by frying them then toss, more like drench them in the chili sauce. I personally do not like my calamari this way. I think it would be much better having the sauce lightly drizzled on top to not over power the dish. The fried chicken sandwich- spice was good. I don't think I would get again though, just not my favorite. & the morning burger- the chef would not cook medium rare. Apparently all burgers are cooked medium so the burger wasn't juicy like we prefer. The chips are house made & delicious. Given 3 stars bc we still really like it here. Food was good. Went during a busy time and we had to wait a very long time for our food, nearly 1.5 hours. Nice ambience.

The food was great as was our waitress! The restaurant was out of so many things; steak, pineapple, and several cheesecakes. Very disappointing considering we had a party of 12 with reservations on a Friday night. The music was annoyingly loud and we asked for it to be turned down multiple times but someone would turn out back up within minutes. Since we were the only people eating in the "Tiki Room" sure would have been nice to be able to hear the person sitting beside me. I had the lobster Mac n cheese and it was delicious! They close at 11pm but the kitchen closes at 10pm. We got there about 10 minutes before the kitchen closed and they were extremely nice and friendly and not upset we were last minute. Traveling and stayed in Teays Valley. Yelp recommendations were pretty strong. First impression was favorable. But, I left after about 12 minutes. Why? A bartender seated me. Did not leave a menu. A wait person stopped at the table right next to me and carried on a 3-4 minute conversation with a regular. Never once looked at me. She came back in another 4 minutes or so to drop off his drink, and then asked another guy what he was drinking. Again, no recognition that I was even there. I sat upright, looked straight at her the entire time. Nothing. Is the food good? Who knows, I never even saw a menu. So, off I go to find another place that values out of town visitors. We went here for dinner expecting much more than ordinary given the prices of their food. We were the first few people in the restaurant for the dinner crowd, but they had been open all day. The waitstaff were friendly, the food was an hour late and cold. It was freezing cold inside and no one knew how to turn on the heater in the restaurant. The menu was extensive and I don't believe they can keep up with what they offer. But hey, at least they made $140 off our party of 4. Very poor experience in my opinion. We stopped by Fairways Bar & Grill in Teays Valley around 3pm Saturday and the place was dead. There was only 1 person tending the bar and the dining room. We were the only customers until the end of our meal when we asked for to-go containers. Our waitress was nice, but service was super slow despite being the only ones there. We ordered the hot cheese bites, spicy chicken and chicken gyro sandwiches. Food was good but needed more sauce to make it excellent. My gyro barley had any tzatziki. Chicken looked burnt but wasn't, and was cooked perfectly. We ended up taking the extra sauce to go because it took so long to get it we'd already dealt with the meals as they came. They also have just about every cheesecake flavor Cheesecake Factory offers. They also only have high tops. Food and wine menus are both extensive with a slight Mediterranean influence. We will try again, because the food itself was good. We'll know to ask for extras when we place the order though. If you go expect to be super patient. read more

Don't every try to Grubhub from here. Placed order with a delivery of one hour. Driver gets to the restaurant and the order hasn't been put in. Driver calls and says it will 1.5 hours before delivery. I begrudgingly accept it. Get a second call from the driver and says it's going to be 2.5 hours. The restaurant doesn't seem to want to fulfill these online orders. This isn't the first occurrence. Hard to support local with this type of customer service! read more

I think the food is good but terrible service. You cant even get served. We sat at the bar & the girl made a snarky remark that they don't have a bartender. Didnt want drinks just nowhere to sit. Better than the 19th Hole This place has been getting great word of mouth for the last month. Living in Kanawha County I don't come to the valley that often, but a Saturday cross country meet had the whole family hungry for lunch. This place is attached to a gas station but has good signage so you shouldn't miss it. It is a small dining area with about 15 tables and seating at a well appointed bar. Outdoor seating adds even more room. The interior is intimate. The wood work and decor is well thought out. Even though the bar seems to steal the show with 16 beers on tap and even more selection in bottles you will not be disappointed by the menu. Don't worry you winos there is several house vines by the glass, too. I had the Red Clay IPA from Sunken City Brewery. Very Nice...(in my best Borat voice) The menu has strong mediterranean influences with hummus, Greek salads, gyros, and shawarma. There are many sandwiches and burgers to choose from along with flatbreads and bar snacks. Special note should be made that there is a great kids menu and vegetarians are not forgotten with a veggie gyro on the menu. I had the gyro with there 1/2# of fries. The gyro comes with banana peppers which may be the only reason for a loss of a star. The shoe string fries are good but not my preference. My wife got the large Greek salad which well is large. It was served with soft pita wedges. We also had a humus appetizer. It was more of the Greek style than the middle eastern style. Both are good in my opinion. I really would give this place 4.5 stars if I could. The food is good and the service was great. You should eat here soon. Just say no the chain food. He had the Morning Burger and fries, and I had the Cajun Chicken Pasta. Both were excellent quality, ridiculous quantity, and very enjoyable. It's apparent why this place is so popular.
