I have a Singer 4423 (newer machine with some plastic parts) that had an issue with the timing. I attempted to fix it myself which only made things worse. I took it first to Ron's Vac and Sew where they were unable to fix it. I was advised to send it in to Singer for repair. Doing so would have been more expensive than the cost of the machine so I looked elsewhere, and found Fajardo's. I explained my problem to the woman in the shop and she ensured me they could take a look and let me know if they could fix it or not without a charge for this. I liked the sound of that. As I was leaving town on Friday, they were able to get my machine to the front of the queue and not only appraise it, but FIX it! I was so pleased and happy. Absolutely horrible experience. Before I dropped off my 3 machines, I called to get an estimated repair time. According to the owner it would be about a week, but likely soon. I was promised a call when they were done. 10 days pass and no news, so I call and he hasn't even worked on them yet. He says he will get started and call me back that day. Three more days pass with no news. So I call, get the same story and a promise for a call back. Today I went and picked up my machines after 23 days with him. He wasn't fixed a single one and wanted to be paid 40$. Horrible service. Unprofessional. Unreliable. read more

I love this establishment not only because they fixed two of my machines, but also, they provide critical support during this weird, chaotic, covid-19 era where a revival of the art of sewing is much appreciated. Staying at home, I was able to explore many different types of creatively outlet from sewing, and so when my machines went down, it seemed as though a part of me fell off. Sewing is my outlet and coping mechanism, so Fajardo - after they have fixed my machines, i couldn't be happier. Their price is very reasonable at $75 per machine tune up and diagnostic, and now my machines chug like its on oil. I had such a wonderful experience at Fajardo's Sewing Machines! Maria was so friendly and knowledgeable. Even though there is a sign that says their prices start at $65, she actually offered to fix my small machine for only $55. I got my Singer back in less than a day. She had switched out the needle and given me a new one plus oiled and maintained the sewing machine as well. It worked beautifully for about an hour until it snagged again. I took it back and apparently it's user error. I had misremembered how to set the bobbin correctly. I actually didn't even know that every sewing machine uses a different bobbin model. I believe it has everything to do with the fact that the only knowledge I have about sewing is from one class that I took five years ago from a Groupon. Maria took the time to show me how to do everything properly and even sent me off with a special needle designed for flimsy material because I was sewing costumes for Comic-Con. You just don't get that kind of quality customer service anymore. I highly recommend this business because it is truly a family owned store with heart. This is my first time bringing my sewing machine to get fixed. After a few online searches, I stumbled across Fajardo's. This is a mom n' pop, local business so I was happy to support it. My sewing machine's bobbin wasn't working properly and it was a quick trip to drop it off to have it inspected. I left it at Fajardo's on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and picked it up the following Friday (1 week). The total cost, for parts and services, was $95. I have no cost comparisons, but considering this is its first tune up in three years, I'm not terribly upset. They also provide a 30-day guarantee so if I run into any problems, I can take it back to get it inspected. Overall, I am happy with the service. One suggestion for improvement is to keep the customer informed throughout the service. During that week, I was the one that called twice to get updates on the service. They should be calling me with updates on my machine, not the other way around. read more

The owner is very nice, but the service leaves something to be desired. My machine was there for 2 weeks and I never received any kind of update. I had to continuously phone them, leaving messages several times, which went unreturned. Eventually I was asked to send the owners manual. While this concerned me, I figured I'd give them another chance. After growing impatient, I called, got an answer, said I was coming for my machine, the person who answered replied ok and hung up. There was little concern on why I was coming, if my machine was even ready, or who I was. It was very off putting. When I finally showed up the owner told me he was unable to repair the machine. I asked him if I owed him anything and he replied, "Whatever you want." I gave him 20 bucks and left. I won't be back for servicing. I really wanted to like this place, I just can't deal with no communication when I'm waiting on something to be repaired. For reference I was attempting to have a Brother CS6000i which giving an E1 error code. Ended up having to trash it. Luckily I got a warranty on it and didn't lost any money other than the $20 here. read more

If I could give Fajardo's more stars, I would. Rarely have my husband and I received such excellent service, especially in a local shop. We dropped off my 44 year old Kenmore Sewing machine, THINKING she was dead as a door nail. I suggested the machine might need a new motor. Jose (Mr. Fajardo) said he would check it out and likely return the machine to us the same day. I couldn't believe it when we actually got the machine back in four hours! It turned out she only needed both belts adjusted and Jose cleaned and oiled her, as agreed. The bill was $65.00. This machine runs like new. I hadn't realized how noisy she had become over the years. though I did keep her cleaned and oiled. Jose easily could have charged us for a new motor, and we are very impressed with his honesty. The following week we dropped off two machines we purchased on Ebay. Yes, we have a petting zoo for sewing machines. We received both machines back the next day, as we had dropped them off late in the afternoon. Again, both machines run and sound like new. The total bill was $130.00. You cannot go wrong with this kind of service. In addition to excellent service, Jose has many parts for sale and a great variety of used machines for sale, several brands and many models of each brand, at reasonable prices. Incidentally, I am disabled with a painful back injury. Each time we visited the store Jose kindly provided me with a chair that I not be left standing at the counter. Another poster opined that Jose failed to "keep her informed" as to the status of her machine. I would never expect that. You drop off your car, sewing machine, etc. for repair and you call before you pick it up to make certain it is ready. It's not a hospital ICU ward treating your family member, lol. I would guess Jose would have to charge more if he hired staff to call customers with daily updates. He delivered our machines back to us when promised and that was perfect for us. read more

I was in the middle of altering a pair of jeans when my sewing machine refused to cooperate. I'd had some trouble with it previously so knew it must be time to have someone look at it. Looking on the web I found Fajardo's, they had some good reviews, and it was close, so I took it there. My guess was the timing was off on the machine, and a friend told me it might be impossible to ever get it right again, so I was concerned. But when I went to pick it up he chuckled at that idea and said they probably didn't have enough experience. I'm so glad to have my machine back and working excellent. read more

As it is considered a vintage machine, I was unsure as to whether or not I would be able to locate a repair shop for my 45 year old Kenmore.
