I was late today. But the boss is so nice to let me order. The food is so tasty and good amount of food and thanks to boss to cook for me even after they close. Will come back and recommend it. ^^

Really amazing food, super well cooked and amazing flavors. Also, really kind service, the people working were very nice and good to talk to. They have a few cute little tables for indoor seating too.

This place is a hole in the wall! I think most of the orders ate take out cause there's very limited seating, maybe 4 people at most. Dropped in for a quick bite to go, and ordered a falafel wrap, fish wrap, lamb/chicken combo, lentil soup and fava beans. I gotta say my falafel wrap was pretty good! Good enough to go back for another, and my friend really enjoyed her fish wrap. The next day i had the lentil soup and again i was impressed, it's rich deep flavors are on point! The meat combo was gobbled down by my kid with no complaints, still haven't gotten to the fava beans but I'm really impressed with this place. All the food and 3 drinks came out to a happy $35. I'll definitely be coming back. Happy Yelping!

The best thing about this place as opposed to a truck?? This feels more authentic and they get more time to dedicate to the creation of each dish or sandwich. I think if you want falafel halal food and anywhere near this area then drop by and try one of their many delicious dishes. I've had their falafel sandwich, their grilled chicken pita, lamb pita, and all were delicious. Definitely returning to try more of the food from their menu. This not the place to come to for decor or fine dining. Also not a place to take a first date as it's warm inside and your clothes will soak up the scent of the spices. You want something cheap and tasty then head on over.

Really happy with the food here, all of the flavors and veggies are fresh. Some of the best babbaganoush I've ever had. Because of lockdown we ordered a few things at once, the lamb kabob and chicken platter in addition to the Tarboosh Platter, but we were so hungry we dug in before I was able to take some pics. Delicious, fresh generous portions, you won't be disappointed. Call and order, and tip generously!!! support local businesses!

After living in Hamilton Heights for nearly a year, Ive realized there aren't many Halal places in the area besides the Middle Eastern food stand near City College. So naturally when a friend has a hankering for Halal food, go to Falafel Tarboosh. We ordered the Shwarma over rice platter and a custom order of loaded Greek fries. If you're expecting these guys to sling your order like Halal guys, you're at the wrong place. The cashier seconds as the line cook so our order took nearly 10 minutes. The shwarma was well-seasoned and had yummy, charred, crispy edges. It came with seasoned rice and salad with freshly chopped veggies. The only hiccup was the side-by-side comparison of our meal to the display menu picture. Nearly half the meat was missing. When will restaurants learn they should never have pictures of their food! Still, it's enough food for a meal. Ill def be back to try their fish dishes and $1.99 Baklava.

Operating out of a tiny, fast-moving storefront, Mamoun's is a legendary staple of Village food culture, known for serving affordable Middle Eastern classics late into the night. Using their exact menu terminology, here is how the food breaks down: Shawarma Sandwich: Thinly sliced 100% lamb cooked slowly on a vertical spit with signature spices, stuffed into a warm pita pocket with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and smooth tahineh sauce. The Manhattan: One of their loaded signature sandwiches featuring deep-fried falafel, creamy hummus, smoky baba ganouj, and fresh tabbouleh, all packed into a pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, pickled turnips, olives, and tahineh. Famous Hot Sauce: Made in-house from imported hot pepper spices, this signature crimson sauce is famously potent--just a few drops add a massive kick of heat to any sandwich or plate.
