This place uses CHEAP wire, CHEAP parts, CHEAP equipment, and will not cover you when the parts fail. They will just try to up-sell you in order to get more money out of you! I took my truck here and the stereo kept failing. They tried to blame me for it! I was sold a different stereo/amp and those started failing too! I then took my truck to a different shop (a far more professional one), and they had to rewire the entire thing! They said the wires these guys used was absolute junk. And get this, the new place (in Temecula) told me that they have at least 1-3 people per week coming into their shop to re-do the crappy job that "Car Stereo & Installs" did in Fallbrook. They also told me that they know this "Nado" guy, who owns "Car Stereo" and that he has quite a bad reputation - that he has moved his shop several times because he does terrible work and winds up having to leave the area! I took in my car and the owner hustled me over charging for the front two windows because there was tiny amount of glue I'm saying maybe 2 high cms that were 6 inches in length and to make it worse they messed the switch on driver side window and it won't roll up automatically now and I took it back and he owner came out give me a bunch of BS saying they didn't do it: I do not recommend this shop to anyone, the owner is a crook and unhonest. read more

Went in to install a keyless entry in my truck at the Stereo Shop Main Street Fallbrook. They said no problem "easy" install. I am the customer, they are the experts. Well after they installed the product, the keyless entry they installed was not compatible with the factory theft system and would not work. I requested they take it out and give me a refund, and I 'll just go to the dealer... There was much pushback that the installer tried to get it to work. I saw them on the internet trying to figure out how to bypass the factory theft and after several tries the installer could not get the product to work, I pushed for a refund. I said this was not my fault but your product/install issue. After a LOT of pushback they finally would refund all but $25 "restocking fee". I said ok, just to get out of there and will file with the credit card company (which I did the money back). As I drove away the Air Bag light was on, I called as I drove back and they said this was not them just something with the truck and not the install. Went to the dealer and had to pay $$$ to fix the wires they messed up under the dash that was shorting the air bag connection. Prior to today, I had a similar experience with the factory radio LED go out the day they did the install of an IPOD jack in my other car. They will always blame it on the car. First time I let it slide, this second time shows that they are not skilled enough to do installations. The younger employees running the business always blame the car and not the installation or product. I gave them 3 chances and had the same poor results on the 2 previous installations from the younger installer. Both cost me extra money to fix something after the install...I've done business with them before and they were good and when the older gentleman was there (I guess the owner). When I asked where he went, they could only say he is out helping another store. I live in Fallbrook and try to patronize local businesses as much as possible. My response is as follows: What great news, what a miracle that you were able to find a cable at this late date when you told me that you had thrown it in the trash and you refused to look for it when I asked for it on the morning following the incident. My husband was extremely upset that you said he made a statement he did not make. He would be very happy to speak to anyone that would like to know the truth. He's lived in Fallbrook since 1953 and did own Whipps Company Paint and Body Shop at 620 Mission Rd for 40 years, so many in town know him. I tried to contact you by certified mail, but you refused it. Much to my regret you have given me no choice but Small Claims Court. All I am asking of you is to refund the money paid to you to repair the system that was under a one year warranty ($131.28), the money I had to pay to repair the incorrectly installed system ($120.00), and the certified mail you refused ($3.30) for a total of $254.58. I am not requesting any return of the original cost. If you refuse, I have no choice but to hire a company to file the paperwork for Small Claims Court and request you to pay for that plus the refund of $254.58 and the court costs. This of course will incur a larger sum for you to pay, but also take you away from your business. They know what they are doing and willing to help you with any questions you have about your current system and what you can do to improve it. Great pricing compared to other local shops and have everything you could need. They installed my system quickly and did it to perfection. It was worth the extra drive to have these guys install my system. I'm always going to bring my car back whenever I have upgrades to make. This guy is all over the place. Really hasn't kept up with the industry. His techniques are old school and do t work well In The new cars. He thinks all his products are competition grade, not the case. And his prices fluctuate from the time you drop off to the time you pick up. Make sure to go over what you want done, he doesn't listen well. I wanted all the stock stuff back and he threw it all away. Because of his techniques things have stopped working that worked before the truck was dropped off to him. Be aware, he is no pro. This is a hobby for him and he really is t that good at it. Worst place ever do not go here. Got a camera installed here. I payed through the roof even with my whole car striped down. They took about 15 minuets to finish the job but left wires hanging around the back causing the RCA to snap. If your in the area check out nzomnia car audio. My first experience with this shop. Had a broken power antenna on my Lexus. There are 3 techs including the owner. All pitcbed in and new one installed in less than 30 minutes. Now the radio works better than ever. This is a family operation that is professional and hardworking. I bought a car alarm system from Fallbrook Car Stereo. I realized after about 6 months that one of the doors was not hooked up so I went back and the owner said the door latch was broken and I needed a new one. Two mechanics looked at it and said he was wrong. At first he tried to get out of fixing it as he said I did not buy a system that included that door. I had the receipt so he backed off. His installer told him that he had explained to me that it was not hooked up before I left the installation. I wouldn't have paid them if the installation was not complete. Fallbrook Car Stereo could not figure out how to hook up that door so they hookup up everything to the overhead doom light. The system only lasted 14 months and malfunctioned past the warranty by 2 months. The owner said on the phone he would repair it at my cost with free labor. My mechanic in town, Eric's Precision Auto and I determined that the system wasn't worth putting more money into it as it was not a quality brand. I did not request a cheap system and I paid for the best available at Fallbrook Car Stereo. Although Eric Precision Auto said he would remove it for free at my next oil change, I took it back to the alarm store to have them remove it. The owner wanted $50 after saying his labor would be free. I called him on it and he laughed at me as I exited his store. I would not recommend Fallbrook Car Stereo. read more

omg.. to bad i dint read this post before goin to this place.. i went their to get an alarm and my door lock fixed.. after i picked the car up and got home i noticed my lock not working still so i called the owner and told me to come back and they would check it...well wen i showed him my front passanger door was still not working.. he said they had replaced the front driver side switch.. he then said wen i left the car, aparently this door was working.. i told him the door had been broken for about 5months.. he keept insisting i suposedly said front drivirside.. and that they tested all doors before work was done .. the funny thing is that after talkin for a wile he said if i would of told him it was my passanger door , he would of tested it out .. "i thought they did and it supposidly worked" well aparently what broke on my door they cant fix it.. and now what they fixed in my other door wich dint need fixing i ended up payin for it..im upset because the day before i left it , i was late to work because they keept messing up suposedly some paperwork for that 3 month same as cash payment option.. i thought it was some shady sh**.. just like melissa im unhappy im sure were not the only ppl . read more
