This was good diner used to go with my family plenty of times in the past. It had a nice inside, was very spacious too, and had a good atmosphere. There was good lighting, plenty of seating, and so much to choose from on the menu. The food was overall, always pretty good and had good flavor. Could tell that it was fresh and not premade or felt like it was heated up frozen. It always had good flavoring and had so much variety that it was always hard to choose what to eat from the menu. The only complaint we really had was the service could've been better at times. There were times when the service was good and plenty when it was bad. It was bad due to the staff either behaving strangely or needing attitude adjustments. But in the end, it is what it is and it's overall expected. This is a good diner to check out or visit for breakfast but there are still better options out there. read more

It took me a while to think of what to write but this has always been one of my favorite places whenever I am in Bordentown. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and the staff always make you feel right at home. Town and Country Diner truly captures what makes diners special with its friendly service and an extensive menu filled with all kinds of comfort food. The value is incredible. Most meals come with two sides a salad and even a soup making it a complete and satisfying meal. I ordered the porterhouse steak cooked medium rare and it came out perfectly tender and juicy. My sides of fried eggplant and corn were delicious and the upgraded French onion soup was rich and flavorful. For about thirty three dollars getting a full steak dinner with soup and salad included is a great deal. The food may not be the fanciest but it is hearty tasty and served with care. I never make it to dessert because the portions are so generous but they do have a great selection that always looks tempting in the display case. This place always feels like home and it is one of those diners you can always count on for a great meal and a pleasant experience. read more

Came in Monday because the Wisdom Diner was closed. Got omelettes and fried potatoes. Pretty basic stuff. Asked for potatoes extra crispy-got a combination of raw and burnt black. The best discovery for us. We pass here often, one day we decided to give it a try. The food is delicious, and the diner is run by pros. Food comes out perfectly timed I like to finish my salad before the meal comes out. We're never disappointed with our meals. Hot, fresh, delicious . Ordered takeout for breakfast recently and picked up my order. It was ready quick, which was nice! The entrance was very nice and inside looks more fancy than a typical NJ diner to be honest! My husband got the chocolate chip pancakes with side of scrambled eggs. Pancakes were good but he wasn't a fan of the eggs. French toast was pretty good with three really large pieces and was filling. I should have ordered my bacon crispy- my fault- but it was crispy on the edges and not middle which was weird and made it chewy. Overall I'd probably try them again though! read more

Attended a family dinner and while the place was clean, and the waiter prompt and pleasant, the food was good for some and not so much for others. The seafood bisque, two of the three that got it said it tasted heavily of old fish. My husband liked his chicken parmigiana but when we left said he started to get a weird freezer burn after taste. My cheese tortellini with chicken was excellent however. I did ask for it to be made spicy but it came out regular, which was fine, as stated, it was excellent. The complimentary bread basket had cheese, cinnamon and cornbread. Each we're ok; slightly on the dry side. The cornbread was just right though. We finished up with a slice of homemade Oreo cheesecake. A very light and creamy cheesecake with a Oreo mousse topping; it was good. I would have liked it better had it had more of a crust to it. I'll stick to Cheesecake Factory. Overall not a bad place to visit but you just have to watch as some dishes are better than others. read more

Town & Country, a/k/a Town & Country Diner, is an old style Greek food warehouse just at the connection between Routes 206 and 130 North. It is surprising near to the other classic emporium, Mastoris. However, of the two, T & C seems to be the higher quality these days. The space is large and well maintained. There are several dining rooms for parties, as well as a counter with about a dozen spinners, so good for solo dining. The staff is courteous and seem to work well together. My server today was polite and humorous, with rye comments about the repair work going on nearby. She actually apologized for sitting down next to me to take my order, because behind the counter was inaccessible at the moment. I thought it was a friendly gesture. My Chicken Salad Club on Rye was excellent. All fresh ingredients, even the bread. It came with a cup of solid Lentil Soup, which was better than most in a tomato base; a large side of French Fries (that I really didn't need), and a small cup of Cole Slaw. I couldn't finish and took half the sandwich back to the office for tomorrow. The lunch sandwich deal was $9.99, and worth it. I'll be going back to Town & Country for a quick lunch in a classic diner setting. Watching the operation is almost as good as eating the lunch. read more

My quest for a great diner in my area continues. Sadly, Town & Country did not meet expectations. The diner is a lot bigger inside than I had expected from the outside. We were seated very quickly in the back portion of the diner. Our service was friendly enough but that couldn't make up for the food. I have a love for chicken croquettes, and now that my main diner doesn't offer them daily anymore, I've been on the hunt. The ones I got were not good....all filling, hardly any chicken, and very, very, VERY dense. The breading/stuffing soaked up a lot of oil it was fried in, and just tasted very off. The salad dressing (french) tasted sour/bad and the salad was in a pool of water. The soup, though, was decent....chicken noodle, standard. This is a very clean and spacious establishment. I stopped in for a quick breakfast and was pleased with my meal. Everything was cooked perfectly and they even have marmalade for your toast. Anywhere that stocks orange marmalade gets some bonus points in my book. The coffee was good and the hash browns were cooked well; the right amount of hardened slightly burnt outer layer and slightly wet center. Prices aren't terrible. Decent place. read more

I love going to town and country. Their service is good. I like their flounder Francese. My daughter and I go there often. They also have a cappuccino machine which is great when you want a yummy hot drink. The servers are very nice. I have stopped by couple times and have great service. I have gotten complimentary dessert from their bakery. Definitely will be returning. read more

I've lived near this diner for over 3.5 years and love their food. Was a lifelong Mastori's advocate until recently, and then discovered this place. Best diner I've ever been to: I can recommend all the salads, matzo-ball/creamy chicken and rice soup, Grecian chicken entree (as well as many others), house made fries, desserts (pie is excellent!), and a lot more. I've lived in NJ my whole life and have been to many diners, so here's my rule of thumb: order diner fare at diners. Get a sandwich, breakfast platter, burger, fried anything, meals your mom made on weeknights, and you won't be disappointed. If you risk a fancier meal, you'll probably be underwhelmed. So skip the duck, the high end cuts of beef, and the seafood (except for the fried stuff). The second part of my rule is that if the diner screws up scrambled eggs or a burger, don't go back. But, if you order the lobster, you're gonna get diner lobster. That is, a step up from mall food court lobster, but certainly a sad ending for our sea friend all the same. Next time order a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich. I don't think it's fair to penalize a diner for mediocre stuffed sole, because you are a little bit crazy for ordering that at a diner. But that's just my opinion! So, Town and Country. Holy moly! This place LOADS you up with food. The menu is varied and the staff is friendly, patient, and helpful. The price, for the quantity, is excellent: you can eat at least two human-size meals off of their gargantuan servings. The quality is fine -- not exemplary, not life changing -- but very decent, and kudos for offering yummy cheese bread. I haven't ordered a alcoholic beverage there, but there is a bar, and it looks well-stocked. Most recently, my friend and I ordered off of their House Special Menu, and I ordered the chicken parm, and she had the fish and chips. This was a multi-course meal, and was no joke. In addition to our massive entrees, we received soup, large salads, an assortment of side dishes which included fries and eggplant and green beans and a sweet potato, loads of breads, and even dessert. Wife wanted some comfort food tonight so we decided to go to the Town and Country Diner about a 20 minute ride from our place. We ordered matzaball soup and it was good little heavy on salt but good. My wife ordered a cheese burger deluxe med well. It came out well and very dry nasty looking beef. Lettuce was wilted and not appetizing at all. Fries were good burger sucked. I ordered the piled high mamas meatloaf. Three slices of very dry and weird seasoned meatloaf with an unknown mixing inside. Yucky flavor. Mashed were great. Once served Mohammad never came back to see how our food was. Finally after 20 mins I had to flag him down for the check. He never inquired why so much food was on our plates. 3 hours later and we both feel sick like we should puke. Will never go back for lunch or dinner. Maybe eggs if we're desperate. Went in to get food to go for on my road trip cause I didn't want to have the same fast food crap. Knew I'd have to wait but this was ridiculous. Waitress chatted up w customer for minutes, after she saw me waiting. When she finished she did few other things that had to be done first, after the chatting of course, then she finally came to take my order. I don't know how long it actually took before food came (but my eta on my waze/gps app added 50 minutes from before I went in the diner)! So food finally comes, "where's the check?" Oh, it's at the register with two nice Greeks arguing about other checks. So I have to wait for that to culminate before I can even pay for my cheeseburger. So how was my burger? Better than McDonald's for twice the price. Came with delicious Cole slaw and fries, but ketchup and utensils must have been extra cause they weren't included. read more

I was just stopping by on the way to New York, and expected a satisfactory average diner, however experienced anything but that. My dining experience started off right with a waiter, Brandon, who seemed more than excited to work with us. He was extremely polite and made some funny jokes as well. I ordered the dinner special, not knowing what I was in for. First, my waiter asked me what soup I wanted, then what salad, then what entree, and to top it all off, what dessert. I asked in disbelief, "this is all part of the dinner special?" And he positively replied "yes sir." I was still in awe of how this four course meal costed under $15 when my soup arrived. Next, my salad came, which was giant for an appetizing dish. I thought that the main course had to be pretty small, but I was once again mistaken. Out came a huge platter of chicken and veggies, which I could not have finished without leaving a little room for dessert. I asked the waiter to see the plate of cakes that he had just mentioned, and no less than 30 seconds later, a large platter of 5 different cakes arrived at our booth. This time the enormous portions of dessert did not surprise me. I got the black and white cake and could not finish it. We're on the road currently so I was concerned that leftovers wouldn't keep. However, the ribs were great and GIGANTIC. Came with bread, salad (or soup), and two sides. I had the broccoli & baked eggplant. The tomato sauce that the eggplant is in is very yummy, but the broccoli was over-cooked. Nevertheless, it's clear that this is a neighborhood favorite. The space is also enormous and well-staffed. Their pastry section also looks fabulous; had the serving size not been as generous I may have tried it out. Immediately upon entering we were asked to wait 10-15 mins for a table even though it wasn't crowded. Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes for our waiter to take our drink orders. He was extremely rude and make some sarcastic comments to my friend about his phone. It took forever for the food to be cooked and it wasn't even that good . we had to hunt our waiter down for our check and as we were leaving he said he was going to feed our leftovers to the pigs outside. If you want a diner experience, this is the place to go. Better than Mastoris. You won't leave hungry. The portions are ample, even if a little light in the taste department. I would avoid busy times. We went there about 10:30 am on Mothers Day. From the start our waiter lowered our expectations. We asked for home fries well cooked (crispy) and he told us that they were turning it over fast and it probably wouldn't happen. It took 45 minutes to get our lukewarm breakfast. Our server was right. The home fries were basically sliced, boiled potatoes. In fact the whole meal was room temperature. Toast barely toasted, omelette just above room temperature and a continuous inability to get a hot cup of coffee or tea. This is our "go to" diner, but I suggest you avoid it during high volume periods. Any other time- probably the best diner around. read more

Ok this place is honestly disgusting. The food only taste good because it is covered in grease and butter. The older lady hostess is so rude, its one of the main reasons i don't go back. It is also very old fashioned and needs updating. Sorry, I do not want to stare at my self in a mirror wall while I eat, thank you. It's dirt cheap when it comes to specials, because everything is low quality and covered in grease so what do you expect. For a diner, the desserts are sub-par and very dry. Not good at all. For our party the food was overcooked and tasteless. I had the fried seafood platter. Worst I have had my entire life and I'm old :p The flounder was hard as a rock. The crab cake had no lump crabmeat and tasted like they put vinegar in the mix. Stuffed scallop was slimy and nasty. Only thing that was ok (although fried too much) was the butterfly shrimp. The bread was ok too. Cinnamon swirl and cheese. My fiancée's steak was overcooked and sent back. She ordered rare and it was well done . When it returned she couldn't eat it as it was raw. My daughter got sick from something and she said she almost vomited. Don't know what caused that but she had steak also. For the money it was not worth it, sad to say.
