After 3 and 1/2 weeks I received a phone call to say the lab said they might be here middle of the week, making it 4 weeks. When I asked why I was told 'I don't know'. It seems Lyon's optometry could be more attentive following up on their glass orders with the laboratory. A 4 week wait is excessive, and I would expect them to follow up on late orders. I understand they are planning to roll out a concierge type service soon.

I used my Kaiser Permanente vision plan to get a vision exam by a Kaiser optometrist.  After the…read moreexam with a new prescription, I walked to the next suite over and checked in with Optical Sales.  They had an opening in 30 minutes.  The wait was actually less time.  Jake assisted me.  He explained all of the bifocal and progressive options.  He asked me what type of frame I wanted and my price range.  I started with the lower end low cost frames.  I wanted rimless.  I ended up choosing a designer frame from Mont Blanc.  I had a $320 frame allowance from Kaiser so I paid the difference plus the cost of the progressive lens.  He said they would be mailed to me in 2 weeks.  I explained to him that the mailman is terrible where I live in Healdsburg and has a good chance of getting misdelivered or lost like my regular mail.  He said I could have them shipped to Kaiser Optical and would contact me when they arrived.  Cool, I'm a happy camper.  They also have many other designer frames to choose from or lower cost frames for your budget.  I was really impressed with my experience at Kaiser Optical.
