In the middle of summer in Discovery Bay, my air conditioner decided it had had enough and went on strike - on a Friday after 4pm in 98 degree weather! I mean, I realize the summer this year has been CRAZY, but the air conditioner deciding to protest was more than I could take!!! Our house was about 90 degrees, there was no way to cool down and we were all sweating bullets- all day and allll night !!!! And because it picked the absolute "best" time to abandon me (after hours on a Friday) I wasn't able to get an appointment until Tuesday which was quick in my opinion because I called first thing Monday morning (btw- the young woman who answered was super patient and nice). Fast forward to around 7 am Tuesday morning - Joseph to the rescue! When I tell you he is HIM, trust me, Joseph is the best ever! Where do I begin- First, he was time; here, time was of the essence because the temp was set to reach 97 today! He knew what he was doing and knew what he was talking about, clearly he has done this before lol! He was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, immediately knew what the issue, showed me the problem and provided information on upkeep to ensure we stayed comfortable and our equipment running. We are an extremely grateful and happy bunch right now:) He worked quickly and got us back up and running in no time. He did not leave a mess- an important fact, because often times techs fix stuff and leave the mess for you! He made sure I understood everything we talked about before he left. I am glad my warranty company selected them and elated we were sent Joseph. **Full disclosure, I did purchase a maintenance plan but there was absolutely no pressure to get it...I just learned a very painful lesson, and I swear, you don't have to tell me twice, THIS will not happen going forward. Very frustrating experience with Air Experts. They have been to my property three times since early June for an AC condensate leak that is dripping water through the ceiling. After the most recent visit, Air Experts told me their diagnosis was that the secondary drain pan and secondary drain were not functioning properly, and that those items were not covered by American Home Shield. My concern was that this explanation did not address the underlying issue. If the primary condensate pan and primary drain are functioning properly, why is condensate reaching the secondary pan in the first place? I specifically asked whether the primary drain could be intermittently backing up during extended AC operation and whether the primary condensate pan underneath the evaporator coil had been inspected and tested for rust, cracks, holes, or leaks. After I asked those questions, Air Experts stopped responding. I called multiple times and left voicemails, but received no response. I then contacted AHS for a second opinion. AHS told me they cannot process the second-opinion request until Air Experts submits its diagnosis/report to them. AHS has now been calling and emailing Air Experts for approximately two weeks asking them to submit the report, and Air Experts has apparently not responded to AHS either. Meanwhile, the AC is still leaking water through the ceiling, and my tenant has to literally using a bucket to catch the dripping water. The ceiling also continues to be damaged by the condensation water. After three service visits, I find it extremely frustrating that the issue remains unresolved, my follow-up questions have gone unanswered, and Air Experts has not submitted its diagnosis to AHS so that I can even move forward with a second opinion. At this point, I simply want the report submitted to AHS and a proper explanation of what is causing condensate to reach the secondary pan in the first place. read more

Our AC decided to call it quits just before one of the hottest stretches we've had this summer. We survived one of the hottest days of the year without AC, powered through another hot day yesterday, and by the time Joseph came out today, he was an absolute lifesaver. He turned what could have been another miserable day into a much less stressful one. Can I just give Joseph extra points for something that probably seems so small? I'm Filipino, and we're definitely a no-shoes-in-the-house family. I had already accepted that I'd just mop the floors afterward because, hey, he was there to fix the AC. I had a very disappointing experience with Air Experts. The technician who came on Friday was only here for about 10 minutes and did not properly diagnose the issue with our AC. He removed the compressor switch and told us he would return the next day (Saturday) to complete the repair. No one showed up on Saturday, and we received no updates or communication despite repeated attempts to follow up during an extreme heat wave. We were left without AC in very difficult and uncomfortable conditions. When we were finally able to reach someone, the response and urgency were not what you would expect given the situation. Overall, the service felt rushed, poorly communicated, and unreliable. I would not recommend this company based on our experience, especially in situations where timely and dependable service is critical. I truly don't know how they are still in business!!! read more

Although they do give you a 5 hour time block of arrival, I liked how they call you 20-30 min before they arrive. Nermin came by and was very easy to talk to. Alex was a Super Star! He came today to make an adjustment on big repair that he completed a week ago. When he completed the adjustment, I mentioned to him that we have always hated how loud the HVAC system has been since the day it was installed 10 years ago. He said that this Lennox Model had many adjustments that could be made to the new circuit board that he had installed the previous week. i had asked several of the "Technicians" (from another company) that annually came to service the HVAC System if there was a way to lower the force of the motor so that it wouldn't be sooooooooo LOUD, but was told "no, there wasn't! Well, they were WRONG!!!" Alex said he could make adjustments on the Circuit Board. My heart started to beat faster. I waited while he worked on it, and to my delight, he made the adjustment, and even my "Impossible to please or impress husband" said that this was a huge improvement! I was close to tears when I heard this Grouchy Old Man agree that it was a big improvement! read more

They didn't even call me back to let me know that my service request would be transferred to another company. Air experts came out today and fix the issue within 30 minutes. We got assigned AIR EXPERTS from our home warranty company. The technician who came reviewed our furnace and claimed that it cannot be repaired. Then, after learning that it was due to damage caused by our dog, he instead said the home warranty would not cover the damage (which is true), and offered to charge $400 to make repairs. We ended up hiring a different company who repaired the damage for $75. There were two issues: (1) Initial (intentionally) incorrect diagnosis. After learning about the cause, changed their diagnosis and tried to charge way above market price. (2) Attempted to charge way more than market price for a private job that was supposed to be through home warranty. read more
