Third time's a charm. Got my furnace repaired through home warranty, took a while between an electrical company and the HVAC company. Air Expert was fast to offer appointments but was misdiagnosed the first two times. Nermin came the third time and got it done right, very professional. Not complaining at all. read more

We got assigned AIR EXPERTS from our home warranty company. The technician who came reviewed our furnace and claimed that it cannot be repaired. Then, after learning that it was due to damage caused by our dog, he instead said the home warranty would not cover the damage (which is true), and offered to charge $400 to make repairs. We ended up hiring a different company who repaired the damage for $75. There were two issues: (1) Initial (intentionally) incorrect diagnosis. After learning about the cause, changed their diagnosis and tried to charge way above market price. (2) Attempted to charge way more than market price for a private job that was supposed to be through home warranty. read more

If they dispatch a technician through your home warranty, they intentionally provide a very high quote. They then surcharge your labor and out-of-warranty parts, making it difficult or expensive for you to proceed with the repair. read more

I am beyond disappointed. we had a prepaid scheduled appointment between 10-2, you closed the ticket, then I called, you reissued the window to 12-4. I had to email you because I still hadn't heard from anyone at 3:50, tech calls with an attitude and he will be here at 4:45. How is this acceptable? Went through our home warranty company for a possible air flow issue. Chris came out and inspected the system. He then spent a half hour explaining how the system worked and gave some tips for more efficient cooling and heating. Also, mentioned possible equipment upgrades, but explained things to consider such as cost. Overall, a very positive experience from a local vendor and a company I would definitely look to hire for a job or at least inquire. read more

This service provider was assigned by my home warranty company to work on my HVAC repair claim. The original appointment was rescheduled due to work related injury of the assigned technician, however there was a sudden cancelation and they were able to come out with minimal delay. The technician arrived early on the day of, he seemed friendly. Here is the issue though, I needed my air ducts, located in the crawl space, repaired. The technician they sent was too big and tall to fit in the crawlspace. He was only able to stick his head the of the opening. Without going down to the crawlspace the technician was not able to provide an accurate assessment of the problem. My claim was denied as a result. One extra star for arriving early to the appointment. read more

Technician came out after the entire system stopped working. Found a fuse in the furnace and contact in the A/C was blow. Replaced both and had the entire system up and running in 20min. This was after another company came for the same issue and I was told a bunch of parts needed replacement. Over $1k in parts and labor. They also pushed that the system was getting old and everything should be replaced. Glad I got a second opinion. read more

Air Experts was dispatched by my home warranty company to fix our broken AC. The technician Alex arrived at 7:15am for a window of 7am-noon I was provided. He was very friendly + professional and identified the faulty capacitor as the issue right away. He also noticed our contactor relay was bad. Even though it was unrelated to our current issue, he offered to replace that as well for a reasonable fee. The entire job was completed in about 30 minutes. By far the best contractor I've worked with through my home insurance. read more

Thank you for the inspection today. I have scheduled an independent evaluation through my home warranty to obtain a second opinion. The furnace ignites and then shuts down after approximately 5 minutes, and an error code was documented during the visit. This does not indicate normal operation. The technician was on site for approximately 15-20 minutes, during which time the ductwork was NOT inspected. The ducts were recommended for inspection, but were not identified or confirmed as the cause of the issue. If the independent evaluation determines the issue is with the unit or its installation, I will pursue appropriate reimbursement for the costs to repair a system that failed less than a year after installation. read more

Be wary of Air Experts if you are given to them by First American Home Warranty which requires Air Experts to go through certain companies/procedures. Perhaps working with them privately yields different results. TLDR: After Air Experts ordered a part taking 3-5 business days to arrive, it took them 1.5 weeks; 7 business days; 8 calls; 3 voicemails; 0 callbacks from Air Experts to tell me that the part was on back order for 2 more weeks. I've worked in the service industry before so I am very polite and patient with those in the service industry. Wow! I feel like an idiot for trusting them! No issues with the technician. Our heater inducer motor broke in the middle of winter and the technician came out quickly diagnosed the issue which was great. I told him this was urgent as its winter and my wife is pregnant and he seemed to understand and put in the order for the motor same day. Thanks Nermin. My biggest issue is with the customer service and the "parts" department (which seems to be a reoccurring problem even from other reviews). Business Day 1 After the Diagnosis, Call 1 : As my wife is pregnant, getting heat was quite important, I followed up the next day so I could get an estimated wait time. I know the motor had to be ordered so we would have to wait at least a few days. The customer service/receptionist informed me that the motor was ordered on the day of diagnosis (which i was happy about, thanks again Nermin) and it would take 3-5 business days. Reasonable lead times for ground delivery. So far, so good. Business Day 3, Call 2: After 3 business days, I was hoping we would have some good news and trying to be proactive I called to see if we can put an appointment on the books. Unfortunately, the part has not arrived. Bummer, we are going into the weekend with no heat but the receptionist did mention 5 business days. So I let my pregnant wife know we will just have to survive on space heaters for now. The weekend between Business Day 3 and 4, Call 3, Voice Mail 1: Over the weekend, didn't want to keep calling them during the week so I left a kind voice mail asking for a status update. They do not call me back on their next business day. Fine...I guess sometimes voice mails get lost especially over weekends. Business Day 4, Call 4: I called asking if there's an update which the receptionist said she would contact the "parts" department but no one is there. She tells me that she will get back to me by end of business day. She does not call me back. A little annoyed but maybe its a busy day. Business Day 5, Call 5, Voice mail 2: I call after business hours because of a busy day at work letting them know its the second time leaving a voicemail. I do not get a call back from Air Experts. Now Im starting to get frustrated. Business Day 6, Call 6: I call once during business hours and Air Experts acknowledge that it is Day 6, and notifies me she got my voicemails (but never called me back?) and the receptionist tries the "parts" department again but they do not pickup again. Now im wondering if there even is a "parts" department or its some excuse they just give when parts are delayed. She says she will contact them and give me a call back end of day again. She does not call back. Business Day 6, Call 7, Voicemail 3: I call after business hours leaving a voice mail asking for the status. Now I'm really wondering if they tell you they will call back to get you off the phone. Business Day 7, Call 8: Finally my wife texts me that she doesnt want to wait anymore so I leave my work meeting to figure out what is really going on with Air Experts. I ask the customer service/receptionist point blank, "what is going on? we've been waiting for so long. where is that part?" Finally she tells me that the "parts" department told her the part is on backorder and we will need to wait for 2 more weeks. Restraining my anger, I ask what I can do to get the part because I simply can not wait anymore and she kindly tells me I can contact First American and see if I can get a cash payout instead and get it fixed by another vendor. Why does it take 7 business days (1.5 weeks) for you to realize a part is on backorder? Why is the "parts" department so difficult to reach during business hours? Why is the customer service/receptionist incapable of calling back clients with followups? Does Air Experts owe their clients any responsibility for letting them know delays in the process and how they can get parts faster when these delays happen? If I had not called, I highly doubt I would have been kept in the loop or gotten any alternative solutions. Thank you for the diagnosis, partnumber of the broken motor, what to do if a part is on backorder; that bit, I must be thankful to Air Experts, but I do not think I will ever choose this company in the future and I hope you read this before you consider them as well. read more
